Nice wins..Marquette for Final Four..if Diddy can do it with Albany..then ****, any team is possible
    Blind to this impending fate

It's definitely a possibility if Diener, Mason, and Novak stay hot. Without all of the contributing, though.. we're average at best.

          Charlotte 49ers @ #12 Marquette Golden Eagles
          Bradley Center - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The 49er's out of UNC-Charlotte traveled north to Milwaukee to take on the Golden Eagles of Marquette.

To begin the first half, both teams seemed to be evenly matched. The 49ers and Eagles exchanged baskets for awhile, and then Travis Diener got sick of it. Like he usually does, Diener took over the game all by his lonesome, and gave the Golden Eagles more than enough breathing room.

The second half was a lot closer, as the Eagles went ice cold and Charlotte started hitting shots from Canada. Brendan Plavich went off in the second period for the 49er's, but his squad came up short in the end. The Golden Eagles won again, 85-81.

          Players Of The Game
          MARQ - Travis Diener - 39 points, 4-7 3PT FG, 13-14 FT, 9 assists, 5 rebounds
          CHA - Brendan Plavich - 30 points, 6-10 3PT FG, 4 rebounds, 3 assists

          MARQ
          Novak - 17 points, 4 assists, 4 steals
          Mason - 15 points, 4 rebounds, 6 steals, 3 assists

          CHA
          Drayton - 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists
          Baldwin - 10 points, 5 assists

#11 Marquette Golden Eagles @ #17 Louisville Cardinals
              Freedom Hall - Louisville, Kentucky

The 11th ranked Marquette Golden Eagles took on conference foe, the Louisville Cardinals, in Kentucky in a battle of Top 25 clubs.

Both teams shot very well out of the gate, as Travis Diener and Taquan Dean carried their respective teams. After five minutes, however, Diener found himself in foul trouble and sat out the remaining 9 minutes of the first half, making his exit after scoring 11 points and dishing out 4 assists. The other Eagles kept up the offense, however, and Marquette didn't suffer too much without their leader. Dean and Garcia of Louisville kept it very close, but couldn't grab the lead.

The second half was fairly similar, but Diener came back strong. Dean cooled off, but Garcia picked up the slack, and it was a battle of two of the top scorers in the NCAA. Louisville came very close at one point, coming within a point of the Golden Eagles. With 28 seconds left, however, the Cardinals found themselves down by three. Garcia squared up and hit a jumper, but had one toe on the line, and the basket was counted as a two. In return, the Eagles outlasted the Cardinals, and beat Louisville 87-84.

              Players Of The Game
              MARQ - Travis Diener - 34 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds
              UL - Francisco Garcia - 28 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists

              MARQ
              Mason - 22 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds
              Novak - 18 points, 4 assists, 3 steals

              UL
              Dean - 28 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds
              O'Bannon - 12 points, 14 assists

This is getting interesting near the end of the season.

                      Yeah, I plan on it.

I still got Louisville one more time and Cinci at the end of the year, then the Conference Tournament. It won't be easy, but Diener should lead the way.
