    Close game against Louisville.

The Big 12 should be fun to play in.
    Blind to this impending fate
We let the world carry our weight
It's back breaks with every mile
But we all live in denial

            Hearnes Center - Columbia, Missouri

The Murray State Racers came to Missouri to take on the Tigers. Mizzou was hoping to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Early on, the Racers proved to be more than the Tigers could handle. Although Mizzou shot very well from the field, their efforts just didn't seem to be enough. Murray State actually led by 12 points at one point in time, but enough was enough. Finally, freshman point guard Jason Horton picked up the slack for Mizzou. The frosh hit 3 three-pointers in a row, and sparked a Tigers rally. Going into the intermission, Mizzou held a seven point lead.

The second half differed greatly from the first, and the Racers fell farther and farther behind. Horton continued his great play, and fellow guards Jason Conley and Jimmy McKinney also played well. In the end, Mizzou came out victorious, 83-57.

            Players Of The Game
            MIZZ - Jason Horton - 21 points, 7-14 3PT FG, 14 assists

            Kleiza - 11 points, 11 rebounds
            Gardner - 10 points, 2-4 3PT FG

The early signing period just started, so I'll have an update or two soon.

                        Hearnes Center - Columbia, Missouri

The Oakland Grizzlies and Mizzou Tigers squared off in the Hearnes Center, with the Tigers heavily favored against their west-coast opponents.

To begin the game, both teams shot fairly well from the field. The Oakland Grizzlies used a balanced attack against Mizzou, making it hard to key in on any one guy. The Tigers, however, were lead by Jason Conley and Linas Kleiza, and when those two are on, watch out. Eventually, the offense of Oakland stalled, allowing the Tigers to jump out to a 12 point lead at the half.

The second half was nowhere near close, as Mizzou ran all over the overmatched Grizzlies. Thomas Gardner chipped in off the bench, and the Tigers rolled, 95-60.

                            Fall Signing Period

In the Fall Signing Period, the Mizzou Tigers were one of the unfortunate. Every nice recruit Mizzou looked at and offered a scholarship signed elsewhere, sending negative vibes about the the front office throughout the campus. Although the Tigers were listed either #1 or #2 on three prospects' lists, it just wasn't enough as they all jumped ship on Mizzou.

The Tigers have targeted a few more recruits, and hope to be more successful when the off-season signing period rolls around.

                            Stay tuned.
