Hearnes Center - Columbia, Missouri
The Mizzou Tigers welcomed the Illinois Fighting Illini to town for their annual Border War Rivalry game. Illinois was favored over the 24th ranked Tigers, but Mizzou was confident on their home floor.
In the first half, the two teams played a back and forth kind of basketball. Neither one of the squads could gain much of advantage over the other. Deron Williams led the attack for the Illini, and Jason Conley was the high scorer for the Tigers in the first half, which ended with a four point Illinois lead.
The second half was completely different, as Mizzou seemed to hit a roadblock. Williams continued to light up the Tigers' defense, but the Tigers had no answer on the other side of the ball. After all was said and done, this great rivalry game ended with an Illinois victory, 82-74.
