      SEAHAWKS GAMEDAY

      (4-1) (3-1)

      Week 6
      Seattle, WA

      GAME NOTES:

      Injured: None
      Key Players:

      QB, Matt Hasselbeck- 479YDS, 5TD, 4INT in 3 games

RB, Shaun Alexander- 88.3Rushing YPG; 9th in NFL
TE, Jerramy Stevens- 17REC, 162YDS; Seattle's leading receiver
Seattle Defense- 1,115 yards allowed; 1st in NFL, allow 30PPG; 2nd highest in NFL

      Injured:None
      Key Players:
      QB, Duante Culpepper- 58%, 1028YDS, 6TD, 7INT; 71.7QB Rating
      WR, Randy Moss- 28REC (3rd in NFL), 384YDS, 3TD
Offensive Line- 10 Sacks Allowed; 7th least in NFL
LB, Chris Claiborne- 53TCKL; Most in NFL

Seattle's toughest challenge so far, lies in this week's matchup of the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have NFL all-stars in Culpepper, Moss, and Claiborne, as well as their offensive line. Moss will be double teamed nearly every play during the game and LB, Niko Koutouvides will QB spy Duante.

Seattle will also be running a more fast defensive line, to apply more pressure on the quarterback. Grant Wistrom will play at defensive tackle, while Anthony Simmons will replace Wistrom at the defensive end. Simmons' linebacker position will be filled in with rookie, Channing Crowder.

Matt Hasselbeck will have pressure on his shoulders in this game, his last possible game as a Seahawk. If things pan out the way he wants it, he will ultimately remain a Seahawk for the rest of the year.

This will be an interesting game, with lots of drama, blood, and glory.

          Week 6: VS Minnesota Vikings

Vikings Whoop Hass; 23-17 in OT

          Week 6
          Seattle, WA

Matt Hasselbeck had a chance to prove himself to the fans, coaches, and his teammates that he is a leader and consistent quarterback. However, in this game, he folded under pressure. Hasselbeck had two turnovers in his possible last game as a Seattle Seahawk. He went 26 of 40 in the overtime loss, with 2 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and a fumble.

He kept his poise in the fourth quarter, on a 15 play drive that came down to 4th down at the Vikings' seven yardline. He was able to hit his favorite target, Bobby Engram, but did not put up enough in his overtime drive to win the game.

On the Vikings' second possession in overtime, RB, Michael Bennett was able to find an open hole, break some tackles, and run 62 yards for the game winner.

"It was a horrific game for me," Hasselbeck stated, "I really thought I had the game won in overtime, but I choked. Nothing else to say, but that."

Hasselbeck, still in the twighlight of his prime, may be traded by the week's end.

With the loss, Seattle falls to 3-2, with their next game against the 1-4 49ers, with or without Matt.

              Hasselbeck No Longer a Seahawk

              Hasselbeck No Longer a Seahawk

              Week 6
              Seattle, WA

It will sure be sad to see him go, but the Seahawks parted ways with their former starting quarterback, Matt Hasselbeck. After failing to lead Seattle to a playoff win in nearly 6 years, and after his less than par performances in the last 3 seasons, the front office felt it was best that he have a change of scenery. But where to is the question.

The Mile High Denver Broncos is where he will remain for the rest of the season, after Seattle completed a trade with denver that would send Matt Hasselbeck to the Denver Broncos for their 1st, 2nd, and 4th round draft picks in 2007. The Broncos, who are winless in 5 games, needed a quarterback after Jake "The Snake" Plummer finished with more interceptions than touchdowns in the '04 , '05, and current season. He currently has a QB rating of 69.0 with last year's being a horrid 58.5.

"It will be sad," said Coach Holmgren, "He is a great quarterback and I only wish him the best." When asked about Week 7's starting quarterback, he replied that it will be Trent Dilfer, until Chris Leak is ready to win the role.

The Seahawks now have a 1st and 2nd round draft pick for the upcomming draft, after trading theirs to Pittsburgh for the rights to Chris Leak in the off-season.

CB, Ken Lucas, who has been holding/sitting out since training camp, still remains a Seahawk for the remainder of the season; he has demanded a trade since pre-season.

WR, Koren Robinson, also remains a Seahawk, and may file for free agency in the coming off-season.
