Weird to see Coach Beemer give bulletin board material to Maimi. We're going to own them.

Miami spanked us last year in the Orange Bowl. That seems like a theme this season, having a lot of teams that beat us come to play us in our own stadium, and we've done pretty well at getting our revenge (see #1 Georgia Tech).

It had to rain all day before the game though right? as you all may remember I absolutely abhor the rain. Yeah I had to drop an SAT word on all of you right there, but I like that word as a description for my feelings.

I started out on fire, being in on every play. I had 8 tackles after the first quarter, but our offense was doing just as little as Miami's was. After we forced a turnover late in the first half our offense finally picked up their first first down, and managed to score the first points of the game on a short field goal.

The end of the game was intense, as Miami tied it up with 3 minutes to play, but our offense responded driving it down the field to take the lead, only to see Miami march down the field, but with time running out we managed to pull their receiver down at the 3 yard line and watch time expire, giving us our sweet revenge.

        12 Tackles
        4 Tackles for Loss
        1 Hit on QB

I started out on fire, but they realized how shut down the right side of their offense was and really started to go away from me after the first quarter. I did make a huge play late in the fourth to tackle a guy in bounds, which caused them their last time out. It felt great to finally beat Miami.

            Beast I am November 7, 2011 - 12:01pm Posted by AllstarMe

We've never played at Wake Forest, so it felt kind of cool going somewhere I've never played before. I love getting out in front of a hostile crowd and really shut them up early.

It felt like any other conference game on the road, the crowd was ripping into us, there was a bit more at stake, but I had no idea I was in for the night I had. I topped my totals for sacks in a season, and sacks in a game getting three tonight. It just felt like every time I blitzed their QB would hold onto the ball just a half second too long, and I made him pay.

What can I say, I think I'm playing at the top of my game. A level I've never played at before, and I am dominating the pack.

Remember how last year this was the first time we played a Virginia team over .500? Well strap on your hats, this year Virginia was actually in the top 25. I know, shocking. We haven't lost to them since I came to Blacksburg, and I didn't want to start now.

Virginia is vastly improved, and at the half they were proving that to us, leading 10-0. I took this personally. Here is this team we've dominated since I've been at Virginia Tech, and they're bullying us around now? No. In the second half we forced two fumbles, and the offense came alive and put 17 on the board for us.

I might not have had my best game, but it was great to see the younger guys on our defense really step up. They were flying around the backfield making my normal plays, and I know this defense will be in good hands when I move on.

Oh yeah. We won the Coastal Division for the second time since I've been here. I hope we get Maryland in the title game, we owe them a beating.

I don't know why we play FCS opponents, but I was looking forward to a little rest before the ACC championship, and Western Illinois would be it. Last time we played an FCS team I think we won like 49-0, so I wasn't expecting much of a challenge from them.

It was even worse for them. I didn't play a lot, but when I did I made a big impact. Got my second interception of the season, my second touchdown of the season, and a really important milestone for me...my 10th sack of the season.

Pretty good numbers for barely playing. I can't wait unitl the conference championship game.

ACC IS BELONG TO US December 11, 2011 - 12:15pm Posted by AllstarMe

Second Trip to Tampa for a lot of us, and we don't want to leave empty handed the way we did my freshman year against Maryland. It's basically a home game for Florida State, but we know how to play on the road.

It has been raining, and I know it'll probably rain all game. Our defense is nasty in the rain, but our offense tends to bog down. Ten minutes until the start and the sun burst through the clouds, a good weather game?

I really feel like I've mastered the art of rushing the quarterback this season, and my 13 sacks should be proof enough. It took me two years to get to 11, and bam this year I flew right by it.

Florida State wasn't the challenge we thought they'd be, and our fans turned out in huge numbers, to the point where it was probably 70% Hokie fans. It was great to see our fans would travel to Florida to see us win the ACC. Now? BCS Bowl Game!

                          3 Sacks
                          3 Hits on QB

I had another great game. 113 tackles freshman year with 6 sacks, 85 tackles last year with 6 sacks and a pick, with one game left this season, 126 tackles 13 sacks, 2 interceptions, a fumble recovery, and 2 touchdowns. Best year ever.

Finally a BCS Bowl Game. Weird how we win the ACC and yet finish behind North Carolina in the polls. They even get a better bowl game then us, but we can't worry about that. Focusing on the task at hand and the Cincinnati Bearcats is our number one priority.

I've only played at the Orange Bowl once in my career, and we were embarrassed. I told everyone it was time to right that. We need to come out early and set the tempo. Make them play Hokie Football.

We did that for a while, taking a 31-14 lead into the fourth...and for the second time this season we lost a huge lead in the final frame. I'm sick. Physically. I don't know if I'll be back next year.
