Re: Gopher Nation - NCAA 11
Gophers Pull Off Stunning Upset!
Once again, the Gophers have defeated a ranked team, but this wasn't just any ranked team. This was the Ohio State Buckeyes, the #1 team in the nation coming into TCF Bank Stadium. It was a huge win for the team in which lead to Minnesota's first time being ranked for a long time coming in at #22.
The Gophers defense was the whole reason they won. The Buckeyes scored most of their points off turnovers as the Gophers continued to be bad in that regard. Marqueis Gray had 2 INT's and Adam Weber had 3 INT's. Weber's INT's ultimately lead to his benching and the insertion of Gray. Since they couldn't get anything going with the run game, the Gophers relied on the passing game out of the shotgun. Gray added another element in that he was able to scramble and pick up some big yards, he is going to be the starter next week against Michigan State.
The Gophers actually started the game down 17-0 which makes it even more amazing that they were able to come back and have a 21-20 lead after halftime. The Buckeyes would have one more shot to get it into the endzone with a little over 2 minutes and 1 timeout. They would complete a 35-yd pass on a 4th and 21 to keep the drive going, but ultimately turned it over on downs the next set of 4 with the Gophers D standing strong. A huge stand that lead to the win.
The biggest thing has to be the play of Da Jon McKnight. He has slowly became a Heisman Canidate moving into 3rd place after yesterday's performance.

GOPHER RECRUITING
The Gophers were able to land 3 more recruits this week. Will Roberts, a WR from Ohio was a 4* recruit and looks to get some solid playing time. Jamar Hurd, ATH, and Jason Davis, DT, both 3* recruits will most likely redshirt next year, but there's a chance they could stick around.

Good job bringing in a 4 star.... Is he gonna start as a true freshman?Comment

Re: Week 10 - A Look Around the League, Recruiting Update
I'll have to see what happens with who declares for the draft, but most of my guys are pretty much set in stone with Stoudermire, Green, and McKnight (who's been a beast in the slot for me). I'd say he could get a look at 4th WR, but I won't be red-shirting him. I'll have to see what happens.Comment

Re: Gopher Nation - NCAA 11
Thanks for following, appreciate it. The Buckeye game I was so lucky to win, I threw 5 INT's! Against your Nittany Lions, I threw 7. Everything I was throwing, they were there. It was ridiculous, but a fun game nonetheless.

Re: Gopher Nation - NCAA 11
Yeah, it seems like they get superhuman powers all of the sudden, I don't understand it. The linebackers seem to be able to jump every route too and make incredible INT's.Comment

Re: Gopher Nation - NCAA 11
Yeah, the most common INT I throw that doesn't make sense, is a LB being 2-4 yards away from where I'm throwing a pass, not making any movement, and right when the ball is getting to my WR's hands the LB lunges to whatever direction and makes a pick.Comment
