    Vereen's Season Over
Cal barley escaped this game with a win. Junior RB Shane Vereen did not. Vereen was injured in the second quarter of today's game.Vereen was helped off of the field and is still waiting on the MRI results on his ankle. "It's very unfortunate, he(Vereen) was having a great season, he was on pace to break numerous school records. We'll have him back next year and we wish him the best with his rehab," said Coach Kalib McBride. "You know, when one player goes down, the others have to step up, and that's exactly what happened today. We could have hung our heads and sat around and cried, but we're men, and we have a goal and that goal is now one game closer."

One of the highs from today's game was backup quarterback Allan Bridgford throwing for 428 yards. Bridgford did throw 2 interceptions in the game and had this to say, "I've never before in my life seen a linebacker jump that high. The second time he did it I just about s*** my pants." And Coach McBride agreed, saying this,"That linebacker deserves a medal or something, or maybe test him for performance enhancers."

Look for sophomores Isi Sofele and Covaughn Deboskie to step up in Vereen's absence. Sofele has 433 yards and 6 touchdowns on the year, coming in when Vereen needs a breather. Now he is the feature back, expect Deboskie to get some carries as well.

Between those last two game Bridgford is going nuts. Suck that Vereen didn't break onehundred yards this game. Maybe he'll be able to bounce back in the next few games.

              Perfect No More
Cal was beaten, and beaten badly. The injuries of Allen, Vereen, Riley, and Sofele had taken a toll on the Golden Bears who were never able to get the ground game going. The Stanford Defense was too much for Cal. Freshman Allan Bridgford threw for 359 yards and 3 touchdowns, trying to make the most out of a bad situation. After 2 early interceptions Stanford jumped ahead to a 21-0 lead. They never looked back. Cal has dropped down to #7, while Stanford jumped to #8. Cal is still in the lead of the Pac 12 North, holding the tiebreak lead over #2 Oregon. "I can't describe this feeling, I feel sick, disgusted, disappointed, and I feel like I let these guys down," said QB Alan Bridgford.

              Key Stats:
              A. Bridgford: 20/38 359 Yds 3 TDs
              M. Jones: 11 Att 82 Yds, 8 Rec 121 Yds
              T. Carter: 4 Rec 85 Yds

                  Utah-Cal 2.0
Shane Vereen and Keenan Allen came back with a boom today, picking a fine time to do so. Vereen, who missed the last two games, whose ankle healed in the two bye weeks leading up to the Pac 12 Campionship game, and Allen, who missed all of the season with a dislocated elbow. Vereen made an instant impact and scored the game's first touchdown. He finished with three touchdowns and two hundred and thirty yards.

Allen, came back and sparked the pass offense led by Allan Bridgford. Bridgford hit Allen 6 times for 165 yards. Bridgford, who will keep the starting QB position with Kevin Riley healthy now passed again for more than three hundred yards.

Neither defense was very effective today, as more than 1000 yards were recorded today by both teams combined. Cal becomes the first ever Pac 12 Champion, and earning a spot to play in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl against the TCU Horned Frogs.

Nice game by Vereen. What year is he right now? And depending no your answer do you think you'll be able to keep him for next season?

He's a junior, and yeah, I hope to keep him, and if he wants to go pro I'm gonna use all the time I possibly can to try to get him to stay. I did sign a 4 star espnu 150 RB though.

TCU is looking to rebound in a big bowl game against the California Golden Bears. TCU is coming off of a 7 point loss from Big East foe Louisville. On the other hand, Cal is coming off of a big win in the Pac 12 Championship game against the Utah Utes.

Cal will be looking to run the ball, with the number one ranked rush offense, that is what we expect anyways. TCU will look to pass all over Cal's 100th ranked pass defense. TCU signal caller Andy Dalton is questionable for this game, if he is not starting, expect young Casey Pachall to take over the reigns of the offense.

"Honestly, I think we should be in the National Championship game playing Alabama. I don't see why Oregon is in it, we beat Oregon in the regular season and they get to play for the Championship? This is why we need a playoff. The BCS is so rigged it's not even funny." says coach McBride.

Although McBride wants to be in the championship, he says he has nothing against the Fiesta Bowl. A little piece of history: TCU won their last championship in 1938, Cal won their last one in 1937.
