Texas, Texas A&M, and others appear to still be talking to other conferences, but the real team to consider plucking for the Big XII appears to be the unappreciated Missouri Tigers. If the MWC could pluck the Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks, especially now that they have BCS status, one must wonder if the MWC would be the 3rd or 4th best conference in the nation.

Conference realignmentDespite stories and rumors, the deadlines came and went and the only moves for 2012 will be TCU to the Big East, and Hawaii/Nevada/Fresno, the WAC co-champions, to the MWC.

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Another Classic Fiesta BowlTalk about the Fiesta Bowl and everyone has two classic memories. The 2003 double overtime national championship game between Ohio State and Miami, and the 2007 overtime matchup between Boise State and Oklahoma won by a two point conversion.
Well the 2012 version might not be as ground breaking as those two magnificent upsets, but it lived up to the hype.
Boise State, the first non AQ to make three BCS Bowl games, and also the first to make a BCS bowl game with a loss, came in feeling destined to go 3-0 in the BCS Bowl games, against Missouri who was making it's BCS debut.
The first quarter was all defense, until James Franklin nailed a 18 yard bullet to J. Jackson for a 18 yard TD to put MU up 7-0 with 42 seconds left in the first.
Missouri harassed Kellen Moore all day
MU followed up with a field goal to start the second quarter, but Boise State responded like they always do. Kellen Moore completed a beautiful 40 yard pass to T. Shoemaker in the endzone to make it 10-7.
Shoemaker's beautiful TD catch to put Boise on the board
With no time left on the clock at the end of the second quarter, Kellen Moore threw a hail mary that was caught by M. Burroughs to put Boise State up 14-10 at the half.
Boise State and Missouri traded TD's in the third, but the difference was M. Frisina's 50yd FG and Boise State took a 24-17 lead into the fourth quarter.
With all eyes on them, Missouri tied the game on a 4 yard catch by Wes Kemp with just over 4 minutes left in the game. TJ. Moe added to the score later on a 50 yard option rush to make it 31-24 MU with just 2:14 left in the game.
Kellen Moore marched his team down the field to tie the game with 1:14 left, but Missouri's James Franklin did the same and put Missouri on top 38-31 with just 0:28 left.
Then at the end of the game, T. Shoemaker hauled in a 25 yard pass and Boise State nailed the PAT to make it 38-38, overtime for the 3rd time in Fiesta Bowl history.
Missouri took possession first, and relied on G. Ressel's foot to make it 41-38 when he sank a 47 yarder.
Bosie State took possession next, and went for the home run. Kellen Moore launched it deep, but it was picked off by M. White, who just went down and Missouri defeated Boise State 41-38 in overtime to win their first ever BCS Bowl and finished undefeated for the first time ever.
M. White saves the day for Missouri, picking off Kellen Moore

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Missouri Tigers looking for a premier out of conference opponent for 2012Talk around Missouri these days isn't about the 13-0 season the Tigers just had, or that the Tigers deserve to crowned co-national champions despite the fact they finished undefeated in the Big XII conference.
Missouri's AD announced they want to up their strength of schedule, and wouldn't mind a rematch with Boise State. Missouri is keeping their contracted dates with Miami (Ohio) and Arizona State for 2012, but looking for a strong opponent to open 2012 with. Boise State is a predicted top 15 team for 2012 in the way too early pre-season polls, and Missouri is pegged as a top 15 pre-season team after their great year and not losing their star playmaker J. Franklin.
Wisconsin, Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Boise State have all been extended offers for 2012 and 2013 Home and Home's. While Illinois and Nebraska would continue old rivalries, Arkansas and Iowa are border wars that will always bring fans despite not having games often between the two states. The oddball is Boise State, but odds are Boise State will accept given they always want a stronger schedule and revenge would have to be on their mind given they just lost to Missouri in the Fiesta Bowl. Not to mention, it's home and home, just what they always want..Comment

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
I have been getting ready for my work to start up (teacher), so that's why I have slowed down. I landed the #24 recruiting class, I'll post that up sometime this week and get everything lined up for the next year. I just gotta hope my defense is not as poor as it was last year.Comment

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
wow, that was a clutch, exciting win over Boise. Way to end the season with a perfect record, and get your first BCS win in school history. Also glad to see Boise lose. Can't wait to see how this next season goes.

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Missouri Tigers Land 24th ranked recruiting class
Fresh off of their 13-0 season and final ranking of #2/2, the Missouri Tigers landed the 24th ranked recruiting class. Alabama, Penn State, Oregon, TCU, Texas, USC, Florida State, Florida, Iowa, and Georgia were the top 10.
The Tigers landed 4 4* recruits, 15 3*'s, 1 2*, and a trifecta of 1*'s. The Tiger defense, which was first in the nation for rushing yards last year and #106th for passing yards, lost a set of key players.
They added 3 balanced 3* MLB's, a 4* balanced DT, a pair of 3* hard hitting strong safeties, a 3* balanced full safety, and a 3* pass rush DT.

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Missouri adds Boise State to 2012/2013 schedule2012 and 2013 is a new step for the Boise State Broncos. Finally a decent AQ conference that is not the Pac 12 is scheduling them for a home and home. Missouri & Boise State agreed to a 2012/2013 home and home, with the 2012 matchup being in Boise.
After losing key offensive and defensive players, the Tigers are set to make 2012 better then 2011, which basically means a national title. Expectations are higher than last year, but last year 8-4 would have been a good year, let alone 13-0, a Big XII Title, and a Fiesta Bowl victory.
This year, with other teams on the rise, the Tigers are projected fourth in the Big XII again. Despite that projection, the Tigers are ready for 2012.Comment

Nov 17 vs Kansas State 48-0
Nov 24 vs Kansas 31-21
Dec 1 at #18 Texas A&M 45-6
The Missouri Tigers, and the entire Big XII suffered from repeat games in the same stadiums. Outrage is everywhere, but the Tigers said they will play their games without complaint. The team that got lucky to get two home games in a row is required to give up their entire gate plus travel expenses to the team that got shafted.
Gutcheck game: Against #17 Oklahoma State. They shut down the Cowboys last year, can they do it again?
Most difficult game: #12 Boise State. Last year in the Fiesta Bowl the Broncos gave the Tigers all they could handle. The Broncos lost their AA QB and HB, but the Tigers lost most of their awesome pass rush, and their secondary is still miserable.
Most difficult stretch: #22 Arizona State, #17 Oklahoma State, Texas Tech. Never take the Sun Devils or the Cowboys lightly, and Texas Tech's offense has only improved.
Snoozefest: Iowa State. There are no gimmes but Iowa State is someone that Missouri should handle by at least 2 TDs.
Upset alert: Baylor. After playing 6 of their 7 toughest opponents, including 3 in a row, the Tigers go to Waco and the Bears have their best shot to upset the Tigers.
