Re: No More Brady - A Ryan Mallett Patriots Story (Madden 13)

    2012 - Week #10

Down and Out - Team officials are announcing that LeSean McCoy could be out for several games with a ruptured disk.

Back In Action - Richard Seymour will be back in action after being sidelined by an injury sustained earlier in the season.

Impact Made - The Titans looked determined to win, and Kenny Britt looked determined to make an impact. Both came to fruition this week.

Rumbling Without Stumbling - Willis McGahee could not be slowed down in the Broncos' 30-15 win over the Panthers.

Alway Ready - Randy Moss probably could have played any sport he wanted, but he's made a career out of being a top-flight receiver. He's now 3rd on the receiving yards list.

Born to Play QB - Drew Brees is a red zone artist. He's moved past Tom Brady into 5th place on the all-time passing touchdown list.

    See Who's Tweetin'
@SkipBaylessEA - You're paid to score touchdowns, and Drew Brees gets paid well. #recordwatch #touchdownterror
@WingozEA - Chiefs now got 30 turnovers this year. Guess they got the memo about turnovers being important.
@RoFloEA - Coaches love a guy like M. Jones-Drew who can go out and get you consistent yardage on the ground.
@MarkSchlerethEA - I see R. Moss out there, he looks as good as he did the day he came into the NFL. #recordwatch
@SCollinsEA - Perfect showcase of why Willis McGahee is a difference maker!!! He played so well.
@mortreportEA - Tremendous stuff from Kenny Britt this week. #Titans
@mortreportEA - Raiders are more than a little thrilled to get Richard Seymour back.
@SkipBaylessEA - Bad situation for LeSean McCoy. He's a main piece for the Eagles, and he knows they need him out there.
@RossTuckerEA - Great players put forth great effort. #simple #NFCPoW
@RoFloEA - Fantasy owners, be sure to say thanks to Drew Brees -- or curse his name if you had to go H2H against him.
@AdamSchefterEA - An impressive week ends with a fitting reward for Rashard Mendenhall. #AFCPoW
@LArringtonEA - Brian Urlacher is one of the guys you always got to appreciate on defense. #NFCPoW
@mortreportEA - The well versed Lardarius Webb takes home #AFCPoW for Week 10.

          Outlook on player Availability
          Week #12

QB Ryan Mallett - Knee - Questionable
HB Stevan Ridley - Jaw - Probable
TE Aaron Hernandez - Back - Questionable
ROLB Jerod Mayo - Neck - Probable
WR Wes Welker - Foot - Out

Foxboro, MA - Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts looks like it's going to be a family reunion. Many players that have been out for weeks look like they'll be ready for the game.

Ryan Mallett, who went down in the 4th quarter against Buffalo, has been on the practice field as of Thursday afternoon. He did sit out on Wednesday and was limited on Friday. He's listed as questionable for Sunday's game. Colt McCoy has been taking the 1st team snaps for a portion of the week and should be ready if needed.

Stevan Ridley was on the practice field all week and sporting a new facemask on his helmet. Looks like the injury didn't set him back any as he has been taking all the starting reps. Look for Brandon Bolden to still get some carries against Indy.

Aaron Hernandez was out on Wednesday and Thursday. He was seen on the field on Friday but was taking limited snaps. He's listed as questionable, so don't expect him to get that many looks if he does playing in Sunday's contest. Patriots may still use Visanthe Shiancoe for the two TE sets to make way for Stevan Ridley's return.

Big Jerod Mayo! He's back and ready to jump back into his spot in the front 7. He was limited on Wednesday, but was in full gear on Thursday and Friday. With his return, expect to see Rob Ninkovich back on defensive end. Shawne Merriman will have to retreat to his back up role and on Special Teams.

Wes Welker has not been cleared by doctors and they expect another 3 weeks before we see him even on the practice field. You'll see Danny Amendola still filling in a role for the injured Welker, but Edelman and Hernandez will be getting out there more on the multi receiver sets.

                Falling apart
Mallett throws 4 INT in loss versus Colts
                PATRIOTS 13 - Colts 27

Foxboro, MA - You would think the Patriots would have come out guns ablazing as they got 3 keys players back from injury. Well then, you would have thought wrong. We haven't seen this bad of a team this year. This team couldn't have beaten the 1-8 Detroit Lions.

It starts and ends with Mallett. Sure he threw up 350+ yards, but 4 interceptions is not acceptable. One of them went back as a pick 6 and buried them even further. He was showing his age out there today and allowed someone younger than him show him up.

Andrew Luck may not have thrown a lot of passes, but he showed you how he can control the field and command an offense. This offense, with one of the worst ground games this year, was able to topple over the Patriots. Donald Brown dug deep and took over the run attack. He put up 141 yards on the ground himself on one the number 2 rushing defense.

Stevan Ridley's first play from scrimmage was a 29 yard run to the outside. I was thinking to myself, "Oh here we go, Ridley is back in town." Well that didn't last long as he didn't even eclipse 75 yards all game. By the time they wanted Bolden to take over, it was already too late and they had to abandon the run game.

This Patriots team needs Wes Welker back. Not only was Welker a threat on short, but he allowed the Patriots to spread the field. If he was double teamed, someone else was open. Indy was playing them zone today and they got into Mallett's head. If the Patriots look to win the division and/or make the Playoffs, they can't have another game like this.

Strolling into New York may not be easy next week as the Jets are neck and neck with the Patriots for the division lead. Last time the Jets came in town, they came back and won it in OT. This can't happen again. I repeat....THIS CAN'T HAPPEN AGAIN. Coach Gerard needs to prepare well as the Jets fans will tear you apart. See you in New Jersey next week!

Really enjoying this. Tough loss vs Indy. Hopefully everybody just needs a week to gel for the returning guys.

I'm just very disappointed in how the whole team played. Nothing was positive. Even Lloyd's 10 receptions meant nothing to me. I'm very mad at the game....lol

                        2012 - Week #11

Family Gathering - Folks will have to wake up from their Turkey nap to watch the Patriots-Jets matchup next week.

Left Unchecked - The Rams had no way to counter punch the Jets' passing attack, which allowed Santonio Holmes to pick up 189 receiving yards on the day.

Sharpest Shooter - Cam Newton scorched the Buccaneers' defense with 5 passing TDs, leading the Panthers to a 46-35 win.

Route Running Aficionado - Tony Gonzalez probably could have played any sport he wanted, but he's made a career out of being a top-flight receiver. He's now 9th on the receiving yards list.

********* Career - A Wonderful leader on the field, T. Brady just finds ways to get it done. And he's done it for years because now he has 315 touchdowns, good enough for 5th all-time.

Winning on the Road - The Colts very clearly wanted a win on the road in New England.

                        See Who's Tweetin'
@SkipBaylessEA - Feel like this Colts team might be on to something with this winning on the road business.
@MarkSchlerethEA - Coaches love a guy like Doug Martin who can go out and get you consistant yardage on the ground.
@RoFloEA - Spoke with BenJarvus Green-Ellis, and he feels 1,000 yards is the bare minimum he should get each year.
@MarkSchlerethEA - The way Michael Vick plays, I sort of just assumed he had already put up at least 20,000 yards.
@WingozEA - Multiply Matt Schaub's total yardage by three, and you're still about 10,000 yards short of Brett Favre.
@RossTuckerEA - You want to block for a guy like T. Brady -- easy to say when he's now 5th on the all-time TD list.
@MikeHillEA - Is there really any doubt Tony Gonzalez is going to keep moving towards historical receiving yard numbers?
@RoFloEA - Some band somewhere heeds to write a song about Cam Newton's big day. #Panthers
@MarkSchlerethEA - Steve Smith has been on the same page all year long with his quarterback. #keepthrowing
@WingozEA - Came Newton did a great job throwing TDs this week. #fantasy
@WingozEA - Seeing S. Holmes out there today, made me reminisce about all my great times as a flag football legend.
@WingozEA - I've eaten twice my body weight in turkey. Wonder if I'll hurl when I see the turducken unveiled.
@WingozEA - Is anyone really going to try and act surprised that Beavie Wells is the #NFCPoW
@RoFloEA - Mark Sanchez is either villified or beloved this week in fantasy leagues everywhere. #AFCPoW
                        @SCollinsEA - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was a man on fire this week. #NFCPoW
@MarkSchlerethEA - Jerraud Powers was clearly eating plenty of my hot chile this week. AFCPoW

                              PATRIOTS 27 - Jets 47

East Rutherford, NJ - On Thanksgiving the Jets gave thanks to the Patriots for handing over the division. Now with a 2 game lead with 5 to play, it's almost impossible for the Patriots to make the playoffs...nevermind winning the AFC East.

Another poor showing on the part of Ryan Mallett. Looks like Ryan's off-season training only prepared him for 10 weeks of football. He's showing signs of wear and looking sluggish out there. Threw another 3 picks (1 of them a pick 6), and was subsequently taken out of the game in the 4th quarter.

Colt McCoy came in with high hopes of keeping some dignity with the Patriots fans, but came away looking just as shameful as Ryan. Colt threw 2 picks of his own. The Jet's secondary was all over the Patriots wide receivers. No one could get separation! Darrelle Revis showed up as his usual self and grabbed two interceptions himself.

Stevan Ridley, if anything positive can come out of this, looked good with almost grabbing 100 yards on 13 carries. The thing is that the Patriots could never get enough momentum to allow him and the gameplan to take off. We knew the Jets were tough on the ground, so the Patriots tried to open up the field by throwing short passes. That didn't work and caused a few 3 and outs. New England needs to find a way to give Stevan Ridley the rock if they hope to make any headway these last 5 games.

In a game where Tebow didn't show his face, the Jets sure did shove the Patriots' faces into the ground. At 5-6, the best that the Patriots can hope for is a 10-6 final record. Two of the games are against the bottom of the barrell Miami Dolphins, the struggling 49ers, a Texans team that shows promise, and a surprising Jaguars. I don't know how the Patriots will fare, but it looks like they could possibly come away with atleast 3 wins. An 8-8 season record will send them home in January as that doesn't have a chance in the AFC.

Going to Miami next week should give Mallett a confidence boost. It would be nice to absolutely obliterate these Dolphins, but we will have to wait and see. See you down in sunny Florida.....keep warm til then.

Sorry for no update over the weekend. Got caught up in a Lego Pirates of the Caribbean with the gf. In the meantime, let me know of what you think will happen with these silly patriots
