            GOOSEEGG!

The Patriots handled the Jets in every aspect of the game en route to a 45-0 win at Gillette.

Rob Gronkowski played in just two plays, scoring a TD early in the fourth quarter on a pass from Brady from two yards out. Brady finished with five TD passes on the day, two to Edelman and one each to Ridley, Gronkowski and Wright. Wright caught a second TD score from Garoppolo in the fourth.

New England held the Jets to 118 total yards of offense and forced three total turnovers in the win.

“Team football, that’s all that is.” Vince Wilfork said when asked about the Pats dominance on both sides of the ball.

“It was incredible, it felt so great!” Rob Gronkowski exclaimed when asked about his return to the field and the endzone.

New England improves to 13-0 and will head to Maryland to face the lowly 2-11 Redskins.

KIRK COUSINS WILL LEAD THE BATTERED REDSKINS AGAINST THE PATRIOTS

The Pats will travel to Maryland to face the lowly Redskins on Sunday Night Football. NBC has, for some reason, chosen not to flex the game.

                      Players to Watch
Washington is dealing with a ton of injuries, they will have 7 players listed as out for the game, four offensive starters. Kirk Cousins will start at QB in place of RGIII. Cousins has completed 29 of 53 pass attempts for 260 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Evan Royster will line up behind him as Alfred Morris will miss the game. Royster has scored six touchdowns while picking up 175 yards on 86 carries for an average of 2.0 yards per carry. WR DeSean Jackson is out. Rookie WR Otha Malone leads the team with 65 receptions for 777 yards and has scored 3 times. Tight end Jordan Reed may be the Redskins best offensive player left, he’s caught 50 passes for 498 yards and a pair of scores. Center Ryan Kalil and reserve guard Josh LeRibeus are also listed as out.

Defensively things look a bit better for Washington with end Cameron Jordan and outside linebacker Trent Murphy as the only scratches. Jordan has played in just nine games, tallying 23 tackles and three sacks. Murphy has 26 tackles and a sack in 10 games. The Redskins defense runs through middle linebacker Keenan Robinson, who has 126 tackles and three picks. End Jason Hatcher has racked up 10 sacks to lead the team. Veteran corner DeAngelo Hall still shows playmaking abilities from time to time and he leads the team with five interceptions.

                      Outlook
This one should be another walk in the park for New England. Expect to see a bit more of Gronk but certainly not a full workload.

RIDLEY KICKS IN THE DOOR ON WASHINGTON

                        Scoreboard1st2nd3rd4thFinal
                        New England Patriots [13-0]71472149
                        Washington Redskins [2-1]70007

                        Unstoppable

Washington kept things interesting until about the end of the first quarter. Following an early Brady to Ridley TD pass Washington was able to answer when Cousins hooked up with Reed for a 47 yard TD pass midway through the first quarter. Washington wouldn’t score again after that.

Ridley scored on a short run early in the second and Brady found Gronk for a five yard touchdown later in the quarter. New England ran away with it in the second, winning by a score of 49-7.

LeGarrette Blount, who got his first start of the season, was injured on the Pats first drive and did not return. His status for next week against the Colts has not been made public at this time.

Julian Edelman hauled in an incredible 16 passes for 168 yards and a pair of scores. He now has 136 receptions on the season, 7 shy of Marvin Harrison’s record 143 set in 2002. Edelman’s 136 receptions, 1,504 yards and 15 touchdowns are all career highs.

Brady now has 40 touchdown passes on the season, second only to his 2007 campaign in which he threw 50.

Following another blowout win the Patriots now sit at 14-0. They will host the 6-8 Colts next week before wrapping up the regular season with a home game against the 4-10 Jaguars. With home field advantage still in question they will no doubt be giving it their all against the Colts.
