CAMERON WAKE LEADS THE ‘PHINS DEFENSE INTO FOXBORO

This week the Pats are back at home. They will host the Dolphins, currently 4-6. The 10-0 Patriots defeated them 37-7 at Miami in week 7.

Players to Watch
Miami’s offense ranks near the bottom of the league in total and passing yards. Rushing yardage for the Dolphins is in the middle of the pack. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has struggled, throwing 14 interceptions and just 10 touchdowns with a 70.7 passer rating. Shonn Greene has been the most effective runner though his 2.9 yards per carry leaves a lot to be desired. Harry Douglas leads the team with 51 receptions but has just one touchdown. Jarvis Landry leads the team with 533 receiving yards on 46 receptions, he has three touchdowns. Greg Little’s 4 touchdown receptions is tops in Miami.

On defense the Dolphins rank 6th in total yards, 4th in passing yards and 13th against the run. They are led by Cameron Wake, who has 6 sacks on the season. Across from him is Dion Jordan, also with 6 sacks. Koa Misi leads the team with 94 tackles. Saftey Tashaun Gipson’s 4 interceptions leads the team.

Haha, nice quote by McDaniels attempting to explain the inexplicable with the team allowing Brady to play all 4 qtrs in a meaningless game to break some records, but pretty awesome performance nonetheless. I will say we are opposed for another day as I'm a diehard Seahawks fan. But that being said there are things about the Pats I love, such as the pure art of watching Brady command the pocket and the field. His delivery is amazing, the way he squares up and is able to isolate his arm from the rest of his body for maybe the purest throwing stroke I've ever seen. The way the NFL is so much fun when Gronk is healthy and doing things even Jimmy Graham could only dream of doing. It's funny how you have a guy like Graham who has been so dominant but there's not one GM in the history of the world who would even consider him against Gronkowski. That guy is greatness. May the better team win, and may your Pats go undefeated in your one final run.

I'm not really a Pats fan but they are the home team so when the Steelers and Giants are done I pull for the Pats. As far as today I have no preference as to who wins as I have had a soft spot for Seattle for quite some time but I hope it comes down to the wire

PATS PREPARED TO USE CAUTION WITH GRONK

When the Patriots lost Rob Gronkowski during their week five win over the Giants they lost one of the most dominant and explosive players in the NFL. They also lost their top receiver at the time. Gronkowski has missed parts of two of his first five seasons and will miss at least six games this season.

"We're looking at the big picture. We certainly won't be rushing him back." Coach Belichick said. "We want him not only for a deep playoff run but for the long term future."

Gronkowski says he is on board with whatever the team doctors and coaching staff decides. "I don't want to rush anything, I've missed enough time in my career already. I want to play for a long time."

Gronkowski broke his wrist against the Giants on Monday Night Football October 12th. The injury occurred on a play where the tight end was attempting a stiff arm on a New York defender. "It was just a fluke thing." He said. "The wrist bent at and odd angle and I felt it snap. It wasn't a hard hit."

New England has avoided injury for the most part with Gronkowski being the only player to miss significant time. He was originally expected to return on November 29th against the Texans but if there's any doubts they will hold him out longer.

PATS WELCOME BACK A FAMILIAR FACE

Following the Patriots trade of Jonas Gray to the Falcons they had an open roster spot which they had yet to fill. Yesterday they filled that spot by bringing back a familiar face.

Asante Samuel was drafted by the Patriots in the 4th round of the 2003 draft. He played his first five seasons in New England and was a big part of the teams' super bowl runs in that span.

Samuel then went to Philadelphia where he played from 2008 to 2011 before being traded to Atlanta, where he played two seasons.

Despite sitting out the 2014 season the 34 year old impressed the Pats' coaching staff enough to be signed through the remainder of the season.

"There were a few positions where we were trying to add some depth, the defensive backfield was one of them. We brought in some guys from the practice squad and some other veterans and Asante just seemed like the best option." Defensive coordinator Matt Patricia said.

The Patriots had worked out Michael Hoomanawanui as well but felt that Tim Wright and Anthony Diaz had been playing well enough to focus elsewhere.

Samuel is expected to work into the rotation at corner and safety as well as contributing on special teams.

Samuel will wear jersey number 28, which he wore at UCF.

Another week brought another Pats blowout victory as they remained undefeated with a 50-6 beating of the Dolphins earlier this afternoon.

Brady threw three touchdown passes while LeGarrette Blount added two on the ground. Darrelle Revis scored on a pick six. Stephen Gostkowski added three field goals and the ream dropped Ryan Tannehill on a sack in the endzone for a safety.

Asante Samuel made his return to Gillette, playing in 15 snaps and recovering a Harry Douglas fumble that Stevenson Sylvester forced on a kick return.

“It’s amazing, it feels great to be back. I love it!” Samuel exclaimed when asked about his return.

The Pats sit at 11-0 and will face teams with a combined record of 22-33 the rest of the way. As of now the Colts (6-5) are their only remaining opponent over .500.

The Pats will travel to Houston to face the 5-6 Texans in week 13 action.

Players to Watch
Houston has had a hard time putting points on the board. They’re struggles start with QB Matt Flynn and his 12 to 10 TD to INT ratio. Arian Foster’s injury has forced the Texans to lean on Jonathan Grimes, who is averaging just 2.9 yards per carry and has only scored three TDs. Andre Johnson leads the receiving corps with 70 receptions for 850 yards, but he has only found the endzone twice.

One defense the Texans are quite intimidating. J.J Watt leads the team with 5 sacks and is an obvious force to be reckoned with. The Patriots offense will have to know where he is at all times. Safety Thomas DeCoud leads the team with 3 interceptions. Brian Cushing, Jadeveon Clowney and Ray Maualuga give the Texans one of the most talent groups of linebackers in the league.

Business as Usual

The Pats have improved to 12-0 with a decisive win over the Texans. Tom Brady threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns and LeGarrette Blount scored twice on the ground. New England also added a safety when Brandon Browner dropped Jonathan Grimes in his own endzone in the third quarter.

“Just a great team effort out there today. Everything worked.” Vince Wilfork said after the win. Wilfork recorded three tackles and a strip sack on Flynn.

The Patriots held the Texans offense to under 150 total yards and sacked Flynn 6 times total, including four by Jamie Collins.

“The guys just got open and the line gave me all day in the pocket and kept me clean. It was a team win.” Tom Brady replied when asked about his performance. Brady was not sacked and was rarely even touched in the game.

Julian Edelman caught two of Brady's touchdown passes and totaled 10 catches for 72 yards.

New England improves to 12-0 and they will host the Jets next week.
