Walker helps Georgia run wild over Clemson

                Week 1

                5:00 PM ET, August 31
Memorial Stadium (Clemson, SC), Clemson, SC

Georgia put on a dominating performance on the road led by a physical running game that pounded Clemson all game on the ground. The Bulldogs strong Offensive Line got the better of Clemson highly touted Run Defense anchored by William and Michael Dean Perry.

Georgia rolled up 245 rushing yards and 6 TD's with Herschel Walker, Fran Tarkenton and Garrison Hearst all scoring 2 TD's each.

Clemson's dangerous kick returner Terrence Flagler proved to be one of the few bright spots for the Tigers as he returned a 4th qtr kickoff 101 yards for a TD.

FSU's Charlie Ward celebrates after throwing his 2nd TD pass just before halftime.

                  Week 1

                  5:00 PM ET, September 2
                  Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA

Florida St jumped out to a 17-7 half time lead behind Charlie Ward's 241 yards passing in the 1s half and then held on to overcome a late Pitt rally to win 29-27.

Ward threw two 1st half TD's including a 43 yard bomb to Big play WR Fred Biletnikoff who out jumped two Pitt defenders in the end zone as time expired in the 2nd QTR sending FSU into the locker room with a huge momentum play.

The Panthers mounted a comeback in the 4th qtr down 29-14 as speedster Tony Dorsett caught a pass in the flat and scored from 11 yards out cutting the FSU lead down to 29-21 with 5:21 left in the game.

Pitts's defense stood their ground on the next FSU possession and forced a 3 & out by stuffing Warrick Dunn on 3 straight carries. Curtis Martin scored on a 1 yard run with 2:11 remaining bringing Pitt to within 29-27 but they failed to convert the 2-pt conversion which would have tied the game up.

FSU would deny Pitt another chance to get the ball back as Ward completed a key 3rd down pass to flanker Ron Sellers ultimately allowing FSU to run out the clock.

Are you going to put NCAA 14 versions of your SWAC and Walter Camp teams up on Teambuilder? Not seeing them.

I can get them up on Sunday for you when i have more free time.

I was just playing with Steve McNair the other day in my Dynasty Mode as I controll the All Time SWAC team. It's a really good team with lots of talent like Deacon Jones, Ed Too Tall Jones, Charlie Joiner, Mel Blount and Darrell Green to name a few players.

I have them scheduled to play my created Grambling St team later on in my dynasty which should be a awesome matchup.

Nebraska's playmaking LB Tom "Train Wreck" Novak lived up to his name registering 11 tackles and the game clinching INT of a Troy Aikman pass with :23 seconds left to play securing a 23-20 Cornhusker win.

UCLA led by Aikman's 391 yards passing nearly pulled off dramatic comeback late in the 4th QTR. The Bruins capped off a 9 play, 71 yard drive as Aikman hit RB Jackie Robinson from 9 yards out with 0:45 seconds left in the game cutting the lead 23-20.

That setup a onside kick that UCLA recovered before Novak stepped in front of a Aikman pass intended for TE Tim Wrightman at the Cornhuskers 37 yard line to secure the vctory.

Nebraska's Tommie Frazier led a leathal Option attack as the Big Red rolled up 302 yards rushing. Frazier had a 70 yard TD run on a option keeper in the 2nd QTR as he juked by Bruins LB Ken Norton and then out raced the Bruins secondary.

Desmond Howard hauls in spectacular TD catch vs Notre Dame in 3rd QTR

                              3:00 PM ET, September 7,

                              Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, MI

In front of a record crowd of 115,109 host Michigan staved off Notre Dame 23-13 improving their record to 2-0 on the season and likely to move up from 18th in the polls.

Michigan got a outstanding performance from southpaw QB Rick Leach who passed for 380 yards including a 23 yard strike to WR Desmond Howard who made a acrobatic catch in the end zone midway through the 3rd QTR to give Michigan the lead 17-13.

Leach under pressure rolled out of the pocket escaping the Notre Dame fierce pass rush and fired a strike to Howard who came up with a diving catch one of his 7 grabs on the day as the Wolverine crowd erupted.

The Irish Defense led by DE Ross Browner (3 sacks) collected 7 sacks on the evening but it wasn't enough to rattle Leach who remained poised all game despite the pounding he took.
