Those would definitely be my top 2 as well, purely because of depth chart position, plus Stanford has a really good Psychology department, so Brian may be leaning more in their direction. Don't know though, will probably be announced tonight or tomorrow!

                  LAWRENCE (KS) HS AUDITORIUM

(Auditorium is packed, people filling the seats, standing in the aisles, filling the back. Estimated # of people: 1,350. Auditorium Capacity: 1,100. Howell sits on stage with Stanford, ASU, and USC hats in front of him on the table.)

Brian Howell: I'd like to thank you all for coming. The time has come for me to choose a college, and I know you all want to know where I'm going. I took into account each school's overall prestige, academics, current state of the program, and how I think I can improve it. I also wanted some sick unis (smiles), so that went in as well. I have decided to choose...

I think I can bring this program to greatness. Thank you, and no questions please.

                  STARTING OVR: 81

Brain Howell, former 5-star recruit and true freshman for ASU out of Lawrence, Kansas, will make his first collegiate start and reveal to Sun Devil fans what they've been waiting all offseason for. He chose ASU over Stanford and USC, who the Sun Devils will play in back-to-back weeks in about a month. Hopefully, Howell can impress the fans and get ASU a win.

                        FORKS UP!

HOWELL LOOKS SHAKY IN FIRST START, BUT ASU COMES OUT ON TOP

Arizona State got its first win on the season, as Brian Howell took command of the team coming right out of high school. He said at his commitment press conference that he was looking to raise them to greatness, and this is a team that has seemingly always been on the cusp of something great.

Howell looks like he can be the catalyst for that greatness.

The Sun Devils came out slowly, but took a 20-17 lead into halftime, after a 13-point 2nd Quarter. A kick return for a touchdown to open the 3rd gave ASU a 27-17 lead, but Howell struggled from then on, throwing 2 picks to add onto his 1 form the first half. However, the defense came up big, and held the Broncos to 10 second half points, while the offense got 17.

Howell looks like he could be a great QB, but he may need another week of practice to fit more into the system, now that he has actual in-game experience under his belt.

                          ASU wins, 37-27.

                          Brian Howell Stats:

                          22/33 378 YDS 3 TDS 3 INTS

                          10 ATT 23 YDS 2.3 AVG 1 TD 2 SKS

                          Up Next:

                          @ #7 Stanford

Thanks! Personally, I felt like Arizona State was more of a place he could build up than Stanford, thus leaving more of a legacy. The ints will have to come down, for sure, but I have confidence in him (cough, cough...me).

well, 378 yards passing is nothing to sneeze at for a first start. Surprised the coaches weren't more eager to keep him under wraps and the game plan conservative but sometimes all the best laid plans go out the window.
