Lions and ex-Bills in the SB? Kind of cool, actually. Will the Huskies lose three more in a row?

LoL I was thinking the same thing...poor Bills/Huskies, they can't catch a break.

          2021 NFL OFFSEASON

-The NFL lost a pair of legends this offseason as 1st ballot hall of famers Drew Brees and Tom Brady announced their retirements. Brees retires as the all-time passing yards leader with 82,920 yards, while Tom Brady is 2nd all-time with 79,982 yards. Unbelievably, both quarterbacks finished with exactly 595 touchdowns, tying them for first all-time. The Patriots also lost Julian Edelman to retirement, who tied the NFL record for most TD receptions in a single game by catching 7 passes for 140 yard and five touchdowns in a 42-28 victory over the Broncos in week 10.

            2021 NFL FREE AGENCY

The London Bulldogs added nine players in total during free agency; six on offense and three on defense.

After posting a record of 11-20-1 over the last two seasons, the Bengals released Andy Dalton this season, opting to turn the offense over to Stanford product K.J. Costello, who the team drafted in the 3rd round in 2020. The Bulldogs signed Dalton to a two-year contract, where he will serve as Herbert's backup and help mentor him as he continues to grow and learn.

The team also signed wide receiver Michael Crabtree to a one-year deal, who is expected to compete with Jakeem Grant for the slot receiver role. Crabtree is a 12-year veteran of the NFL, and recorded 83 catches for 778 yards and 8 touchdowns in his last two seasons with the Ravens.

Jake Butt (TE) comes in as the backup tight end. Originally drafted in the 5th round by the Broncos, Butt has played sparingly in his four years due to injuries. His best year came in 2019 when he recorded 18 catches for 214 yards and two touchdowns.

Fullback Kiel Pollard was signed to a three-year contract, and is expected to beat out incumbent starter Chandler Cox for a roster spot in the preseason. Pollard was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Bengals last year. He recorded six carries for 24 yards, and six catches for 85 yards and a touchdown in his rookie season.

Return specialists Larry Rountree (HB) and Jeff Thomas (WR) return to the team on two-year deals.

Ronald Blair III (DE) signed a three-year contract contract with the Bulldogs, and is expected to be the primary backup for the team's starting defensive lineman. Blair was drafted in the 5th round in 2016 by the 49ers and played there for 4 seasons before playing sparingly for the Redskins last season. Blair has recorded 14.5 sacks in his career.

Vince Williams (MLB) joins the roster on a two-year contract to provide depth at linebacker. A seven-year NFL veteran, Williams' best years came in 2017 and 2018 as a starting linebacker for the Steelers, where he recorded 211 tackles, 12 sacks, and two interceptions.

-Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has been traded to the Minnesota Vikings for a 3rd round draft pick. Mariota has played exceptionally in his last two seasons with the Titans, completing 72% of his passes for over 5,300 yards, 44 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions, but an injury kept him sidelined for half of 2020. In his absence, rookie Sam Ehlinger rose to the occassion, prompting Tennessee to make the trade this offseason. Mariota is expected to overtake Kirk Cousins for the starting job in Minnesota.

I’m excited to see Detroit hoist the Lombardi trophy, however, Herbert got screwed out of ROTY! The league is clearly blind!

                What are your offseason goals?

Sigh...so many lol. We still have some big holes on the o-line, Wanogho allowed 15 sacks at left tackle. I tried to sign Trent Williams in free agency but I missed out. I'm not in love with my starters at outside linebacker, don't have a starting defensive tackle, and Reshad Jones is regressing fast at strong safety. But lucky me, I have four picks in the first two rounds thanks to the Houston trade, so I'm crossing my fingers that I can get four solid starters out of those picks.

                    2021 NFL DRAFT

RD 1, PK 2: Outside linebacker was one of the weakest positions for the Bulldogs defensively in 2020, and the team made great strides in strengthening it by selecting Micah Parsons. Hailing from Penn St., commonly referred to as Linebacker U, Parsons is sure to make an immediate impact as a speed rusher known for his ability to get to the opposing quarterback. It's a foregone conclusion that he will beat out Andrew Van Ginkel for the starting job in the preseason.

RD 1, PK 7: Acquired in the 2019 trade that sent Tunsil and Stills to Houston, the Bulldogs used the 7th overall pick to address one of the most crucial positions on offense. 2020 4th round pick Prince Tega Wanogho was a liability at left tackle last season, allowing a team-high 13 sacks. Herbert was sacked 42 times last year, a number which only four other starting QBs exceeded in 2020, and the team is hoping to protect their most important asset by selecting Georgia's Cade Mays (LT). Playing in the SEC, Mays faced off against some of the best competition in college football, and will hopefully seal off Herbert's backside.

RD 2, PK 2: Reshad Jones is aging fast, and his decline was evident in 2020. At the top of the 2nd round, the Bulldogs selected his successor in Jaiden Lars-Woodbey (SS) out of Florida State. Lars-Woodbey is a well-balanced safety who is sure to be a fixture in the secondary for years to come.

RD 2, PK 7: The Bulldogs lost starter Clint Boling in free agency this offseason, but addressed that hole in the 2nd round with the selection of Jamaree Sayler (RG). Sayler played his college ball at Georgia alongside first round pick Cade Mays, and his powerful 6'4" 335lb. frame is sure to help clog up inside rushing lanes and open up holes for the ground game.

RD 3, PK 2: London let 2020 starter Davon Godchaux walk in free agency, which opens the door for 3rd round selection Phidarian Mathis (DT) to start immediately on the defensive line. At Alabama, Mathis was primarily known for his run stopping skills, but also has a knack for getting after the quarterback on passing downs.

RD 5, PK 2: The Bulldogs traded their 4th round pick for Clint Boling (RG) last season, but went back to work in the 5th round, selecting Avery Young (CB) out of Rutgers. Young joins a talented group of cornerbacks on the roster, and will be in a dogfight to secure meaninful playing time in his rookie season.

RD 7, PK 2: The steal of the draft? Time will tell, but London's 7th round selection of Iowa's Kaevon Merriweather (FS) certainly looks solid. He will compete with incumbent starter Bobby McCain for the starting role in 2021.

-The New England Patriots used the 52nd overall pick to select quarterback Sean Clifford out of Penn State. Clifford is expected to be named the starter as a rookie with the unenviable task of replacing NFL legend Tom Brady.

Nice! I looks like you got a few SS X-Factor, SS and Star trait players to fill gaps.

(unless its been patched but I'm not sure it has)

Even though I still have one of the weakest rosters, I really like our team. We just need a few years to progress and I think it's gonna be real strong.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the young guys develop. It was a really strong draft for London... especially that 7th round pick!
