Just so you know I was just elected the president of the Rhino fan club, and we have some pretty high demands when it comes to honoring our favorite players. So be prepared... We also feel like the Lavette "The Jet" Gibbs deserves to have a promotion night at one of the games, were all kids get a free pair of sweet kicks.

Gotta love generic NCAA naming sometimes, haha. Just in that little snippet of the Boise State roster and coach you provided, there are five guys with two first names

                Nunyer's Notes

I needed to get that game done and get out of the house, so while I didn't sim anything, the entire 2nd half I played with conservative clock. The Boise State defensive backs were pretty lackluster and I probably could have thrown for a ton of yards if I stayed on the gas the whole game.

The six Niagara sacks looked more impressive on paper then they really were. Only two were legit "pass rush" sacks... Three of them were the QB tucking and running, taking a bad path and just losing a yard or two.

PITT ENDS THE REGULAR SEASON IN GRAND FASHION
Palmer goes over 500 yards in the air, FAU is no match in 55-16 blowout
Report by LACES OUT DAN! | November 28th, 2020

Looking to end their already impressive season on a high note, the Pitt Panthers handled business at home against the overmatched Owls of Florida Atlantic. Quarterback Jeremy Palmer continued his record-setting season with 561 passing yards and four touchdowns. He should easily finish the regular season leading all of the NCAA in passing with 4,349 yards.

The Owls held close early on, trailing only 17-16 at the end of the first half. Then returner David Pollard received some beautiful blocking en route to his first career kickoff return touchdown to open the second half. After a three-and-out for the Owls, Palmer found leading receiver D.J. Martin for a 44-yard touchdown and the blowout was underway. The Panthers would go on to put up 38 unanswered points the rest of the way, including 35 in an explosive 3rd quarter.

Woods was largely held in check, including losing this 1st quarter fumble

Palmer had a big day, here finding Alexander on a 93-yard TD

Big blocking downfield springs Pollard for his 1st career return TD

DJ Martin leads the team with 74 catches and 1198 yards this season

                  Nunyer's Notes
Played the first few possessions of each half until I felt I had some decent screenshot material, then simmed the rest. The sim engine went crazy for Pitt in the 3rd quarter, dropping 21 straight points in three possessions.

                    Subject: Yea, I've been slacking

Sorry for the lack of updates this year... You know how it goes, you keep the same job for 5 or 6 seasons and you just start slacking... Stop sending as many updates, take more time between updates, get caught in a national scandal and lose a bunch of scholarships... standard stuff.

Anyways, we should have decent class in regards to quality, if not quantity. We did manage to land our two big nepotism targets:

                    Troy Rowsdower | LB
                    3-star | 6'3 | 213 lbs (78 OVR, +7 GEM)

The younger brother of former Niagara WR Zak Rowsdower, turns out Troy is a pleasant surprise and scouts out much higher than I originally thought. He has a high football IQ (81 PRC) and solid speed (82 SPD / 85 ACC). He is a little rough in coverage skills, but thankfully we'll have some time to coach him up. We're set at LB for at least next season, we might want to consider stashing him with a redshirt.

                    Mark Nunnelly | ATH
                    3-star | 5'11 | 187 lbs (73 OVR)

A quick re-cap of my first update on Mark: "Another younger brother, this time of former Niagara LB/SS JJ Nunnelly. Mark lacks top-end speed (82 SPD), but has excellent running back instincts (high 80s in elusiveness, spin and juke)". I think that's still accurate, his best fit is going to be HB. While he is a solid hitter on the defensive side, he is likely far too raw to develop into a legit safety. Another "stash him with a red shirt" if we can get away with it.

                    George Wall | DE
                    4-star | 6'6 | 257 lbs (78 OVR)

Our first likely starter as a true freshman, Wall was a Top 5 defensive end nationally. He has very solid technique for his age (80 PMV, 83 FMV, 82 BSH) and should compete for the starting job vacated by the graduating Blaine Rothenhauser.

                    Drew Arnold | WR
                    4-star | 6'3 | 209 lbs (77 OVR)

I tried as hard as I could land some outside speed at WR to replace the departing Fawaz, but there wasn't much available. Arnold is definitely a taller possession / red zone guy (88 RTE, 88 SPC) who can fight for jump balls but he isn't exactly a speed merchant (83 SPC, 83 ACC). He will likely be in the mix for the WR4 spot and could see time as a specialist in the red zone.

                    Alex Wallace | SS
                    4-star | 6'0 | 191 lbs (81 OVR)

Alex is a terror in run support (88 TAK, 82 POW) and has solid speed for the position (88 SPD). The safety position will likely see some shuffling with Anselem James graduating, Wallce could be in the mix for strong safety. However, he raw coverage skills would likely keep him out of consideration for free safety.

Re: Niagara Rhinos: An Alternate Universe NCAA 14 Dynasty

Dr. Schreibman was a placekicker for Niagara for three seasons starting in 1990. He was the Rhinos all time leading scorer for over almost 30 years and has been widely recognized across southern Ontario as a Niagara Rhino superfan. His views do not necessarily express those of Niagara University.

                      WE START WITH A CORRECTION
Our friends over at the Marino's Perm site emailed us to inform us of a mistake they made in their last update. They are big doodieheads who don't pay close enough attention to these things... So despite being reported as their final game of the regular season, turns out Pitt has one game left. The 9-2 Panthers will remain at home next week, hosting the 7-4 Rainbow Warriors of Hawaii.

                      SPEAKING OF THE PITT PANTHERS....
Stevie Browning has done a pretty remarkable job in his first year as a head coach. He has the Panthers currently sitting as the 19th ranked team in the nation and has done a heck of a job in recruiting. Most pundits around the country currently put the Panthers among the top 20 classes with some signings yet to fall into place.

A few of his signings were prospects that likely defected from Niagara after the NCAA sanctions came down. Four star athlete Jared Peoples as well as four star tackle Eric Cole were both considered comfortably in the Niagara pipeline at one time. While Browning has to replace a number of contributors on offense, including their QB, he is looking on pace to set up Pitt as a perennial contender.

                      NATIONAL TITLE? DON'T STOP BELIEVIN!
With their win over Boise State, along with losses by #2 VA Tech and #4 GA Tech, the Rhinos have snuck up to the 4th place ranking in the latest polls. They will still need some help to make it into the top 2, but it's certainly not out of reach yet. This coming week #1 Cal and #2 LSU are idle, but #3 Syracuse does have a game against Boston College. Then both the top two teams will need to win their respective conference championship games. Basically, the Rhinos need two losses out of their opponents next three games in order to have a backdoor shot into a title bid. Keep those fingers crossed, rub those rabbits feet, sacrifice the goat under the full moon, whatever your particular good luck charm might be.

Nunyer's Notes This game was fully simmed, so no screenshots or story... Although there is some good news beyond the Pitt win, Syracuse also lost to Boston College, 21-17! That should allow Niagara to move up to #3 in the polls heading into the conference championship week. #1 Cal faces an unranked Arizona State team in the PAC-12 and #2 LSU faces #21 Tennessee in the SEC. Either of those top teams lose, and Niagara might just squeak in!

Also, in the boxscore above for some reason the profanity filter blocked out one of the Hawaii player names... no idea why... his name is "T. Rust"... not sure what naughty word they thought I was trying to get away with.

You aren't able to do any recruiting with Pitt, right? Hell of a run for Stevie leading them to 10-win season in his first year.

Hopefully the Rhinos can get the results they need in conference championship week!

I actually have been doing full recruiting for Pitt, figuring my sanctions would limit what I could do with Niagara. In the few cases where a recruit showed interest in both schools, I figured I would lean towards Pitt, but it was a case by case basis... with I think a total of three cases. In two of those cases, Pitt had the higher bonus points, so I had Niagara back down and Pitt got those players. In the other case, Niagara had the higher bonus but another school took control early on and he got away.

I've really enjoyed this season with the two teams... still not sure what I'll do next year, but I just might repeat the same format... Where Niagara has "full ESPN coverage" and Pitt gets the "ESPN2" treatment.

Dr. Schreibman was a placekicker for Niagara for three seasons starting in 1990. He was the Rhinos all time leading scorer for over almost 30 years and has been widely recognized across southern Ontario as a Niagara Rhino superfan. His views do not necessarily express those of Niagara University.

                              HOLY ****!

CAL FALLS IN PAC-12 TITLE GAME!

NIAGARA TO FACE #1 LSU FOR NATIONAL TITLE!

Well, I think we can rename Niagara to Backdoor University... as they have snuck into the National Championship Game. Well, wait a minute... Backdoor University sounds like an adult film title... so scratch that. Anyways, the Rhinos needed a lot of help the last few weeks. First it was Boston College upsetting #3 Syracuse and now it's formerly unranked Arizona State coming up with a big upset in the PAC-12 title game. The Sun Devils scored 10 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to break a stalemate and overtook the previously undefeated Cal Golden Bears by a score of 34-24. With their PAC-12 title, ASU sends Cal tumbling all the way down to 7th place in the polls.

Formerly ranked at #2, the 12-1 LSU Tigers had little problem dispatching Tennessee in the SEC Championship, winning by a score of 42-14 with the outcome never really being in question. On the season, LSU won their 12 games by an average of over 25 points per game. Their sole loss was a 42-25 dud on the road against the 4th ranked Virginia Tech Hoakies. Their only victory by less than a double-digit margin was a 31-28 squeaker on the road against the 3rd ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

STEVIE BROWNING AND PITT REACH #15, FACE UCLA IN BOWL
In his first season at Pitt, former Rhino great Stevie Browning took the Panthers to a 10-2 finish. They have accepted a bid to the Fight Hunger Bowl to face off against a 6-6 UCLA squad. This is actually a rematch of one of Pitt's losses. Way back in week seven, Pitt traveled to the west coast and lost 37-34 against the Bruins. Overall, the season was a disappointment for UCLA, which had some embarrassing losses against 4-8 Colorado and 6-6 UMass.
