Much closer than Herbstreit probably predicted. Tough way to go down but pretty good that it was that close. The conference is your's to take next year

Sorry I've been out of the loop, Young; I had surgery this last week. Looking forward to getting caught up with your Swarm, though.Comment

Re: #SWARM - RELOADED
I feel like I could say the same thing as I did in the beginning of the season with how encouraging it was for the Swarm to keep it close for a moral victory, but it's hard to repeat that when you lose a conference title game - especially when you were up late. Of course, it was impressive to be in it there at the end considering the differential in total offense and that Henderson didn't have the best day throwing the ball, but when you're that close you just want the glory, haha.
Excited to see what the offseason brings the Swarm! Feel like despite the lousy division and up-and-down campaign, there's a lot of positives to take from the season and even more to look forward to going forward.
Thanks for checking in guys! Going to wrap up the season tonight and get into the offseason in the next few days!

Re: #SWARM - RELOADED
2018 Coaching Carousel
Quick Notes
- UCLA fired Jim Mora after he went 7-6 in 2017, then 5-7 in 2017, hiring Raymond Woodie away from Tulsa, who'll replace him with Major Applewhite from San Jose State. Mora will attempt to salvage his career at ULL.
- Gus Malzahn has landed at Arkansas, where he'll attempt to turn around a program that's gone 4-8 in each of the past 2 seasons.
- The triple option is heading to the MAC (or maybe the AAC when I realign), as Ivin Jasper has been hired at Bowling Green, who's former HC Van Malone will take over at Michigan State after going 10-4 and 9-4.
- Louisville are in trouble, hiring rookie HC Joe Morehead, as they've gone 4-8, 6-6 and now 2-10 over the past 3 seasons. Also in trouble are Pitt, who haven't had a year over 7 wins since 2013. They hired former EMU HC Chris Creighton, who went 12-2 with a MAC title, shocking the nation along with Akron as the MAC duo finished the year ranked.
Created Coaches
Firstly, I've created Amir Cohen, who will be taking over as the HC at Kalispell, just because I want to slightly manage them and see if they can rise up. Deuce Vader (Deuce2223) is taking over as UCLA's new OC. Scottie Slaughter (Careless Whisper) will join him in the PAC-12 as Oregon State's new OC. Jon Dobzinski (joshuahuskers) will be Illinois' new OC, and last but not least, John Smith (parent22), will be the DC at ECU.Comment

Re: #SWARM - RELOADED
National Signing Day, 2018 Offseason
Reports by Isaac Robinson - February 7th, 2019
Swarm pull in #67 ranked class
Westlake, OH -- Signing Day has come and gone, and the dust has settled on Dion Barkley's first recruiting class. Westlake State have pulled in the #67 ranked class, as per ESPN, headlined by 4 star wideout Nic Johnson and JUCO ATH Kevin Campbell, both of whom are expected to start in 2019. Outside of them and maybe OL Tim Pembroke, this class lacks instant impact players. However, guys like Jeremy Watson, Davion Williams, and Nick Watts have a ton of potential and could possibly start as soon as 2020. The full class can be found below.
Elsewhere in the American, Kalispell have somehow pulled in the #9 overall recruit, ATH Chris Washington, who's expected to play both ways as a wideout and defensive back. Navy had the best class of any AAC team, coming in at #34. Houston, who finished the year at #11, pulled in a pair of 5 star wideouts: Ricky Simmons and the aptly-named Kevin Houston.
Kentucky are on the rise, finishing last season ranked 22nd, and grabbed a dynamic duo in #1 wideout Eddie Gooslby as well as #1 dual-threat QB Travis Brittain. Their class ranked 19th.
The traditional powers stay at the top, with Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas A&M, Penn State, and Clemson reeling in the nation's top 5 classes.

Westlake State Swarm Football Staff Communications
From: Head Coach Dion Barkley
To: All Coaching Staff
Subject: Position changes and cuts
Hey everyone. Getting close to the start of preseason, here's a look at the position changes ad cuts we're making.
Xavier Meeks is moving from QB to wideout. He was never going to make it at QB, can't really throw. Jeremy Watson is going to play TE for us, not WR. He's super strong for a wideout, super fast too, we're going to try to teach him how to block. John Paul Scruggs is moving to right tackle. Lastly, incoming SS Pierre Brown is going to move to ROLB.
HB Jake Kidd, incoming WR Allen Nicholson, WR Paul Charles, LE Zach Smith, MLB Glen McIntosh, and LT Kyle Fenton are the cuts. Always hate to do it, but we have to.Comment

Re: #SWARM - RELOADED
Report by Isaac Robinson - April 13th, 2019
NCAA finally reveal details of massive conference shakeup
Note: Credit to Deuce2223 for giving me the idea to do this, and for a lot of the actual realignment itself
Westlake, OH -- Westlake State almost won the American last season. Now, that road will get a bit harder. FAU, FIU, Arkansas State, Louisville, and Lousiana-Lafayette have all joined the conference ahead of the 2019 season, and the Swarm will be facing some stiff competition in their new division.
The new-look American conference is split into 2 divisions: Stars and Stripes. The Stars division is made up of the Florida schools, so USF, UCF, FIU, and FAU, along with schools from Ohio, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania: Temple, Louisville, Cincinnati, and of course our beloved Westlake State. The Stripes will be made up of Arkansas State, UConn, ECU, Houston, Memphis, Syracuse, Tulane, and Marshall. This change does render the Swarm's contract with Arkansas State null and void, as that was signed when the Red Wolves were still with Conference USA.

STARS: Westlake State, USF, UCF, Temple, Louisville, FIU, FAU, Cincinnati
STRIPES: Arkansas State, UConn, ECU, Houston, Memphis, Syracuse, Tulane, Marshall
BCS Bowl: Any
The other conference seeing a massive change is the Big 12. The conference was reportedly tired of seeing its winner get snubbed for the BCS title game year after year, so they decided they needed a conference title game. SMU, Tulsa, Nebraska and Texas A&M join, while West Virginia departs, joining the ACC, along with Iowa State who will join the Big Ten. The Big Ten also boasts a new high-profile member: Notre Dame. After decades of independence, the storied program finally caved and joined the conference as a football-only member until at least 2030. In addition, the Big Ten will be switching to a North/South realignment in order to better balance the divisions.

SOUTH: Illinois, Indiana, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Wisconsin
BCS Bowl: Rose Bowl
The SEC opted against taking on another member, (with Georgia Tech being the only real candidate) and have agreed to allow Mississippi State to leave the conference and join C-USA. The Bulldogs have won the conference just once way back in 1941, and haven't won a division crown or even posted double digit wins since 1999. Unlike Vanderbilt, Mississippi State don't even bring any academic prestige to the conference, and so they're no longer a Power 5 school.
The MAC and the PAC-12 remain unchanged, but the MAC could gradually be phased out the way the Sun Belt has been, with the latter now consisting of just Troy, ULL, ULM and UMass. EMU, Ohio, and Akron have been on the rise, and could potentially be on the move soon.

Re: #SWARM - RELOADED
Interesting alignment! I like that you’re challenging yourself with a tough division. I like seeing Nebraska back in the Big 12 for the nostalgia value. I would have preferred reuniting all of the old Big 8 in the north and adding two teams to the south, but that’s just me haha!
Looks like coach Dobzinksi has his work cut out for him at Illinois with Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State and Wisconsin in that division!

Re: #SWARM - RELOADED
Looks like a you have a bright future on that defensive line with Pierre Turner; garnering Freshman All American honors and recording 5 sacks....nice.
As for your recruiting class, great snag with the 4-star wideout, but I'm curious how Davion Williams at middle linebacker pans out for you; 6'4", 228...great size, but not too massive to be slow. Hopefully he turns out well for the Swarm.Comment
