There was a online article posted the other day, in regards to the ‘injury bug’ biting us this year. It listed the players we currently have out. We are tied for the team with the most injured players, San Francisco is tied with us at 5 players each.

Reggie Bush suffered a broken jaw it turns out, and he will be sidelined for the next 10 or so weeks as it heals up

David Thomas our backup tight end, 6 more weeks: abdominal tear

Charles Brown our starting left guard, 5 more weeks: strained knee

Patrick Malone our rookie starting center, 3 more weeks: broken ankle

Jimmy Graham our third string tight end, 1 more week: strained quadricep

Our offense wasn’t the best in the beginning. Our defense however, set the tone from the beginning of the game. After a holding penalty of Tampa Bay pushed them closer to their goal line, Sedrick Ellis busted through the offensive line to drag running back Michael Robinson down for the safety at 13:08 to make it a 2-0 lead. I then knocked in back-to-back 47-yard field goals to make it 8-0. Tampa finally got on the board with a field goal.

Our defense was smothering Tampa Bay all game long. The defense added another safety in both the 2nd and 3rd quarter!! The defense got a staggering 9 sacks on the day, one interception and forced 4 fumbles to help fuel our 36-16 victory.

I missed my last two field goal attempts on the day; from 53-yards then 43-yards. I went 3/5 on FGs for the game, but went 3/3 on my XPs.

The offensive game ball went to rookie Troy Wilder for his 175 rushing yards, 1 TD

The defensive game ball went to Sedrick Ellis for his mind boggling; 11 tackles (7 TFL), 2 sacks, 1 safety performance

The worst part of the game was seeing Pierre Thomas, Marques Colston AND Jeremy Shockey all leave the game with potential injuries and none came back on the field either in our victory

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS DECIMATED BY INJURIES ON OFFENSE

That was the caption of the New Orleans Gazette on Tuesday morning. The team added the three aforementioned players who’d left due to injury to the injury list after hearing the results of their tests.

Marques Colston suffered a dislocated knee, and is out 7-9 weeks

Pierre Thomas suffered a high ankle sprain, and is out 7-9 weeks too

Jeremey Shockey suffered a strained shoulder, and is out 4-5 weeks

Our depth chart looks like a patchwork quilt my grandma made, ‘slapped together and hoping it looked nice’

The good news; we are in sole possession of 1st in the division with a 2 game cushion over the Falcons sitting at 5-3

DREW BREES RUNS FOR 69-YARD SCORE IN LOSS TO TITANS

That was the headline...and despite losing its something I’ll remember forever. It was the third quarter and we were down 21-20 at the time. Drew Brees was playing well, with pair of touchdown passes so far. It was 3rd and 5 to go, he was flushed out the pocket and went to the right. He proceeded to run for the first...and he kept running. His wide receiver Devery Henderson blocked his man, Jimmy Graham tied his guy up and refused to give it. It was magical and insane to watch the guy run past defenders, as he was running for his life.

Even despite the amazing run, we still lost the game. I played okay, I made all 4 of my XP attempts, but only made 1/2 FGs. I came up a few yards short on a 53-yard attempt during the second quarter.

We lost 35-31, and Atlanta gained a game closer to us in the standings. We now only have a 1 game lead, and we face the Cowboys next week.

My PS2 died today...99.9% sure it’s the lens to read the discs. Until I address the issue my games are on hold. I could always start a SNES franchise lol
