Nice signings bthomp, I too like to add and tinker with my AHL squad quite a bit. Makes it a little more fun when I'm playing as them. I've made a couple moves that have worked well but some others...not so much. Hopefully Ramo gets his act together. Leighton has been struggling to find his grove in Hershey so I feel your pain

LOL @ Vipers2k9!!! I use to go to Cobo Hall and watch the Motor City Mustangs play!!! I was huge into roller hockey and I tried following the leagues that were on ESPN in the summer. I wish Roller Hockey Leagues would have become bigger. We lost our Mustangs in Detroit

      Thank you, kind sir.

Yeah, I too have been to London Knights games (which is where I first caught a glimpse of what now is my favorite player, S.Kostitsyn) and it is indeed a nice place. I'm more put off by the fact that you moved the Thrashers because as it stands right now, there is virtually no chance in hell they are moved out of Atlanta.

Don't let that bring you down though, I know you will do nothing less than a great job regardless of the team or location.

I am so sorry, I meant to get this for you but forgot. Since there is no mustang graphic I used a random one but will get this for you tomorrow.

Yeah, it helps you see your team for the future. Its one thing to fill your team with big FAs but to develop your prospects into great players seems so much more fufilling.

I was interested in roller hockey for a while but kind of lost interest. Are there any big leagues around?

          Great Strategy, Not Enough

Eventhough the Stangs were able to contain Kovalchuk to 1 shot and Thompson recorded his 5th and 6th goals of the season, it was not enough as the 3rd place Devils beat the Stangs 6 to 3.

GM/Coach Dudley had this to say. "We really stuck to our guns and shutted down Kovy, we just forgot about the other 11 forwards."

Thompson openned scoring at 19:34 in the 1st period and it looked like a Stangs game. But incredible netminding by Marty and a sloppy Stangs defense in the 2nd and 3rd periods allowed Martin, Pandolfo, Parise (3rd), Elias (3rd), Vasyumov (4th), and Pandolfo (2nd) again to get on the board and dismantle a Stangs 3 game winning streak.

"We just played crappy. I guess all the guys were focused on Kovy, that they forgot to defend the slot. Well we can't do anything about it now, so we will focus on our next game, the Sabres." Captian Jagr was quoted after the game.

No rest for the Stangs as they travel a little bit more north to take on the Buffalo Sabres (4-0-1). Its is expect that Hedberg will get his first start of the season.

At least Thompson stayed hot and you shut down Kovy.

And Vasyunov is so sick on these games even though really he's pretty average.

Oh, and I was right about Ramo's mask.

Thanks Axeshun. Great pic by the way. The game was so weird, it didn't matter what I did to try and stop the bleeding, it just continue to happen. O well, I hope my outing agianst the Sabres is more fruitful.

                    Vanek Vanishes Stangs

In the Stangs 3rd road game in a row, they were unfortunately handed thier 2nd loss of the season by a score of 5 to 3. There road record now stands at 1-2-0.

Vanek would get on the board at 12:29 in the 1st period and the Sabres pretty much never looked back. Other contributors for the Sabres were Stafford, Roy (Had 2 tallies) and Vanek again. Miller stopped 33 of 36 shots and kept the lead for the Sabres deep into the game, while the Sabres FO efficiency was 65%, another big contributor in the win.

"They out played us and played smarter. They were 20% in the scoring catergorie compared to our 8%. We need to be smarter with the puck or this is going to be a long season." Quoted assistant Captian Thompson. The Stangs have outshot thier opponents 249 to 199, but only have a 9% goal efficiency.

For the lossing Stangs Kozlov (1st of the season), Peverly (1st goal of the season), and Little contributed while Hedberg, in his first start of the season, looked sloppy and confused as he let in 5 goals on 25 shots.

"It wasn't my fault, my defence was non existent." Hedberg told reporters after the game.

During the post game show Dudley had this to say. "I don't know what it is. Its like after the Ottawa game we just forgot how to protect the slot. You can bet we will be working on that tomorrow morning and the next."

The Stangs will get another 2 day break (most likely spent doing drills) before they finish off thier franchise first road quest against the Habs (5-2-0). Hedberg will get his 2nd start as Dudley believes he can play better.

                          Stangs Finish on a High

Entering the last game of thier 5 game road trek, first of the franchise, the Stangs can go home feeling accomplished as they beat the Habs 5 to 2 and finished off thier road journey with a 3-2-0 record.

"When we bought this team and moved them, we didn't have alot of expectations. We gave Dudley the responsibility to rebuild the team this year and thought that was that. But the way the Stangs have been playing so far, maybe a playoff birth isn't to far away, and that my friend would be an added bonous." A Spirit Group spokeswomen was quoted during a brief press conference.

As many times so far this young season the Stangs got on the board first. Peverly (2nd of the season) banked in a rebound at 13:16 in the first. This lone goal would stand for over 15 mins of play before Habs' Cammalleri (4th goal of the season) notted the tieing goal at 8:59 in the 2nd on 1 of 8 powerplay opportunities.

"Hedberg was incredible, stopping puck after puck, but all good things come to an end unfortunately. And Cammi found the back of the net." Jagr, who was pointless this game, was quoted on his team mates 28:59 mins of shutout play.

Afinogenov (2nd of the season) would find himself open deep in the Habs zone where he was able to get the go-ahead goal at 12:43 in the 2nd.

Afinogenov had this to say. "It was like I was invisible, not one defender was even looking at me. It was too easy."

But the Habs came out strong in the 3rd, Cammi (2nd of the night and 5th of the season) fired off an excellent one-timer from Gomez at 1:40 in the 3rd and the game was tied at 2.

Bogosain (2 points tonight) had this to say. "Once again we were caught with our pants down. We need to do a better job of covering the slot or we are going to get slaughtered."

But not all was lost as the Stangs picked up the pressure and scored 2 more unattested goals in the 3rd, tallies from Thompson (8th goal of the season and the GWG) at 4:59 and Armstrong (2nd of the season, EN)at 17:46.

Thompson (2 goals and 2 assists tonight) was quoted after the game. "Everthing clicked for us tonight, yes we had a lapse early in the 3rd but Hedberg stayed strong and we were able to steal the win. What a way to finish off our first road trek. I look forward to being home and playing Ovi and his Caps."

The Stangs will fly home tonight and practice tomorrow as they prepare to take on Ovi and his Caps (4-2-0) on the 22nd, this will be the 2nd home game of the season for the Stangs. It is rumored Hedberg will get the nod.

Thompson is a beast! 2 goals (GWG and SH) and 2 Assists! 8 Goals in 5 games. That's really good! Great win.

I know, he's really dominating. Glad I have him, he's also a beast in the circle. I think he's at 68%.

Solid road trip with a nice win over a good Habs team to finish it off.
