    Pre-Season Sum-up

Testing out the lines. Will post complete roster day 1 of regular season.

    Game 1:

    MTL: 1
    OTT: 2

    Game 2:
    BOS: 0
    OTT: 3

    Game 3:
    OTT: 3
    BUF: 1

    Game 4:
    OTT: 6
    TOR: 2

    Press Conference
Great preseason, going 4-0. Anderson pulled off 3 of the wins, while Auld took the game against Buffalo. Here in Ottawa, we feel that these are the right line combo. We feel that we will put Anderson as our starter for the next couple games.

I'll post lines in next post.

Sens come up short, Anderson lets in two soft 2nd period goals

          Changes to lineup:
Every LW moved up a line to replace the injured Michalek, and Klinkhammer got called up from Bingingham. Also, Gilroy took the place of Matt Carkner.

Anderson lets one in early, still receives win

Foligno had a penalty shot after being tripped on the way to the net, and decided to go glove side. This was stopped by Vokoun.
Ovechkin pretty much forgot to show up today scoring no points.

Spezza joked around afterward about Alfredsson missing an empty net, shooting the puck to high and hitting the cross bar.

The Senators made a couple changes in the lineup tonight. With Greening moved to 1st line and Foligno moved to 2nd, everyone was surprised to see Regin playing instead of Konopka.

"This game was mostly about scoring, not toughness", Noah was quoted during a press conference after the game.

                  Anderson Saves The Sens!
After the Sens take the lead in the 1st, Briere scores his first of the season off a deflection from Hartnell's shot to bury it in the back of the net. After a hit from Simmands, Gilroy had a scare and went down and did not return.

Alfie took the lead in the 2nd period after the puck (shot by Spezza) bounced off his chest, then stick. After review, they found it a good goal; as the crowd in Scotia Bank Place went wild. This would also be the 1st power play goal of the season; which then ended up being the GWG.

Jared Cowen came out with the lone-goal, as the Sens set the win streak to 4. This came half way through the 2nd. Anderson got 1st star again for his wonderful performance. He received a shutout, saving all 22 shots. The Jets needed this win, and are off to a slow start losing their past 3 games.

                      BREAKING NEWS

The Ottawa Senators have dealt their 2013 4th round pick to the Calgary Flames in exchange for a 2012 3rd round pick and LW Raitis Ivanans. We felt that we could not pass this opportunity up with Michalek sidelined for the next couple weeks. Ivanans will play the 3rd line LW until Michalek is healthy; and Filatov will be sent down to the Baby Sens. We decided we like the way Klinkhammer has been playing, and he will remain on 4th line.

Ivanans makes 0.548M this year. We welcome him to Ottawa.

Ward Up? Carolina dominates as Cam Ward makes 31 saves for the W

Ottawa got their ***'s handed to them in a 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes. Skinner has 2 goals, and Ward saved 31 out of 32 shots. This halts the Sens win streak at 5. Ivananas picked up his 1st point (assist) as a Senator when he assisted Condras goal in the 3rd period.

Big win, Sens take it in the 3rd

This game was a rush, and a lot of goals were scored in the 1st and 3rd period. The Panthers just couldn't find the last two goals. They were outscored both in the 1st and the 3rd by 1 goal. Three out of the 6 goals scored for the Sens were by Veteran defense players. Gonchar, Kuba and Phillips each recorded their 1st goal of the season.

Samuelsson scored two goals for the Panthers, his 2nd and 3rd of the season to tie it up at 1:49 in the 3rd, while Garrison took the lead and made it 4-3 for Florida at 4:14 in the 3rd. Jason Spezza then Tied it up 7 minutes later, while Kuba got the lead and Spezza again scored the GWG.

                              What a Fantastic game.
