    BREAKING NEWS

    New Trade gone through

The Ottawa Senators would like to wish Konopka safe travels and a good time in Montreal. They will receive prospect Yannik Webber.
We feel like we have enough centers, with either Konopka or Regin scratched, and one on 4th line. We also have Neil, Phillips, and Smith who can fight. Parish is 34 years old, and plays in Baby Sens, while Konopka is 30 and a healthy scratch. He makes 1.030M this season, while Weber (23 y/o D, b- b- b-) makes 0.850M. He will be a health scratch, filling in for tired D until Carkner heals, while Diaz will be sent to the Baby Sens. Hopefully one day soon he will make it to the official Roster.

This is what the GM of Montreal had to say (after I closed it by accident, then resent it)

What ever, Montreal still believes in the deal. It's done.
Ottawa Acquires: Yannik Webber, Rafael Diaz
Montreal Acquires: Zenon Konopka, Mark Parish

Rangers destroy Sens in 2nd period

The Ottawa Senators got embarrassed tonight against the Rangers. Anderson couldn't stop anything. Anderson let in a goal with 2 seconds left in the 2nd period. I guess he went off the ice a bit to early... Kuba left mid-way through the 3rd with an undisclosed injury. He will be a game-time decision against the Leafs. Weber is most likely going to fill in for him.

Hopefully they can beat Toronto at home tomorrow. They beat the Sens 3-0 last time. Gaborik has an amazing game.

He's Big, He's Bald, He's Alex Auld! Auld to get the start vs Leafs, giving Anderson a much needed break...

As thought, Kuba was out with a sore foot, so Weber took his place for his 1st game as a Senator. Auld started in net, giving Anderson a well-deserved break. Klinkhammer recorded his 1st ever NHL goal off a rebound and nailed it top shelf. This is pretty much a battle for LW between Klinkhammer and Ivanans. Once Greening comes back, one of the two have to be scratched or sent down to Baby Sens. Zack Smith got the winner by a Deflection against Reimer in the 3rd period. Anderson blew his shutout with 5.1 seconds in the 3rd period, after a goal by Lupul was scored.

          Game Notes
With Greening coming back after this game, He took 3rd line LW, and I sent down Klinkhammer to Baby Sens. I brought up RW Conboy as a Scratch, just so Klinkhammer could get some playing time, and improve a bit before we bring him back up to our roster.

          ***Edit***
Gonchar had 2 assists, not 3.

Good luck with your Senators dynasty. I think you got the best out of both trades.

Not enough rest for Anderson, comes up with a Loss

Both teams are hot, Boston has lost only 2 of its last 10 games while Ottawa has dropped 4 out of its last 12 games. After a night's rest, Anderson got the start for Ottawa, while Rask went between the pipes for the Bruins.

After a scrap with Lucic, Foligno head to the dressing room with an undisclosed upper body injury. It was later determined that he broke his jaw and will be out of the rest of game. The Senators beat Rask to end ruin his shutout streak, but it wasn't enough to stop Seguin's hat-trick.

Alfredsson showed leadership, getting 1 goal and giving a couple hits. At one point, Anderson took on Lucic, then Cowen came in and a big scrum happened. A total of 10 goals were scored, kind of a repeat of the previous game against

Carkner comes back after missing about 12 games due to a broken leg.

                  Line Changes:

Carkner goes with Phillips on 2nd line.
Weber goes to 3rd line with Cowen.
Gilroy is scratched (possibly being traded)

Next game, Konopka comes back to The Scotia Bank Place to face the Sens, after being traded for Weber a couple weeks ago.

                    OT Loss, Heartbreaking...

Anderson did an amazing job in the 3rd period with all the saves, after letting in 2 goals in the 2nd period. Nick Foligno played splended with a broken jaw, scoring a goal and grabbing an assist. The Senators made a push in the 3rd to force overtime, where they succumbed to the pressure of Montreal.

Konopka, unlike many assumed, did not make the starting lineup for Montreal, but was a healthy scratch. This now marks two losses in a row for Ottawa.

In the Klink of time - Anderson pulls out a W, Klinkhammer gets called up.

The Senators have beat the Sabres in regulation. They play again November 11th, which should be an exciting game. Both Anderson and Miller had fantastic games. There were many shots, hits and fights. The Sens have 3 days rest, til the Rangers come to visit them. After the Rangers, the Sens hit the road for 8 of the next 9 games.

With Michalek out again fixing his sore knee, We called back up Klinkhammer. He will be playing in 2nd line along with Turris and Butler. Foligno will remain on 3rd line, while Ivanas is playing 4th. We felt Greening stepped up his game in the past couple weeks, and deserves a shot to play alongside Spezza and Alfreddson on 1st line.

Anderson makes it 2, saves the Sens from sinking

The Senators now are in the top 5 in the NHL, and are currently sitting in 4th place. They jumped to a double-digit number in the W column, joined by Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Vancouver and Boston.
Michalek now joins the Sens for their next road trip in Buffalo. They will seek revenge for the hit on him, and will also try to extend their winning streak to 3, tying a season record.

                          Miller Blanks Sens

Ryan Miller had sweet revenge against the Sens after a loss about a week ago. Miller faced and saved all 30 shots, while Roy, Ehrhoff and Leopold all got on the score sheet for Buffalo. Anderson saved 32 out of 35 shots.
Buffalo took 1 of the 2 meetings of these two teams so far.

The Battle Of Ontario at its best

With Anderson getting the start, the Sens started going down hill in the 1st period trailing by 1. Carkner left at the end of the 1st, with what was determined to be bruised ribs, and did not return. He just got back from a broken leg less then a week ago.

Condra had two nice goals, but unfortunally Toronto came through strong in the 2nd and 3rd. Anderson was pulled after 5, 1 goal being a SHG 5 - 3, and Auld was put in. Spezza went down half way through the 3rd and also did not return.

Spezza ended up being fine, but Carkner had bruised ribs, and is a bit banged up. He will play the next game vs Calgary though. Over 100 PIMS were giving out total this game.

Sens lose in OT for the 2nd time

After being up 2-1 in the first two periods, Anderson let the W slip away after Kostopoulos scored with only 2:30 left in the period, then in OT, Iginla pulled off his 9th of the year, making the Flames burn the Sens. This also marked Irvanans 1st game back in Calgary after being acquired in a trade.
