SENATORS ACQUIRE SCORING 1st LINER FROM CAROLINA

Ottawa, ON -- The Ottawa Senators have added to their scoring depth. They have announced in desperation that they have contacted the Carolina Hurricanes and acquired the vet 30 year old Eric Staal. They have gave up a 2015 7th round pick, 2017 2nd round pick, and a 2019 1st round pick. Staal carries a heavy cap hit, but the GM of the Senators assures that it will be fixed soon. It is expected that Staal will hop on the 1st line while Turris will be bumped to 2nd.

"We may have over-paid, but I'm not happy with our current situation. We need a scoring veteran to teach the young guns" - Noah Jackson, GM of Senators

In 58 games, Staal has 16 goals and 40 points.

                Few trades happened.

                - Nick Foligno went to the Blues for prospect goalie Ville Husso
                - Canadiens gave up Jacob De La Rose to the Islanders for Frans Nielsen
                - Hurricanes gave up right to Clark Bishop to the Islanders for Nikolai Kulemin
