BELLEVILLE ADVANCES TO CALDER CUP FINAL
      May 14th, 2022

The Belleville Senators advanced to the Calder Cup Final after a decisive 4-0 Sweep of the Charlotte Checkers. Impressive goaltending from Condon and a stingy defense definitely helped their cause, as well as two injuries to star Checker Players Roland McKeown and Jake Bean.

This marks the first time an Ottawa Senators AHL affiliate has made it to the finals since the 2010/11 Season, when Robin Lehner Backstopped Binghamton to a Calder Cup win. The Senators will travel to San Jose, where they will take on the Western Conference leading Barracuda.

Been meaning to ask. Who was your captain this year?

On the Senators, the Captain was Kronwall.

On the Baby Sens, the AI gave it to Wolanin.

I have a lot of updating to do because I spent all day yesterday working through my offseason and it was a lot of stuff to do.

My game gave the captaincy to Thatchuk. My roster doesn't have half the players you have, including your captain, because Kronwall retired

My Leafs of course use Tavares, with Reilly and Matthews as alternates

Marlies was David Backes but when I recalled him, I gave it to Andy Welinski, last year's leading scorer for defensemen, with As to Nygard & Fitzgerald

That makes sense. JT is a natural Captain. I got some surprising choices for retirement as well, but it really did get rid a lot of the older Free Agents in the list.

No I mean the active roster I started the franchise with already has Kronwall out of the game. he didn't retire in my game

I was lucky, only AHL backup goalie Viktor Fasth retired on me last year

I have a few players who could retire this off season

                Henrik Lundqvist
                David Backes
                Dustin Byfuglien
                Alex Steen

                Trevor Daley
                Alex Biega
                Mike Smith
                Curtis McElhinney

So if could be a fun offseason for me too

Do you mean that they could retire and play for you? Or retire and be removed from the league FA list?

                  Isn't Chara still playing?

He came up as a UFA in my offseason as a 43 Year Old and still 85 OVR. I was going to sign him for pure nostalgia (more to come regarding former players returning) but he rejected my offer and signed with LA.

BREAKOUT THIRD PERIOD GIVE SENS SERIES LEAD IN CHIPPY AFFAIR
                    May 16th, 2022

It didn't take long for the Barracuda to strike, much to the pleasure of their fans at the SAP Center. TJ Hensick was able to capitalize on good positioning to bat in a rebound just two minutes into the game. The Senators however remained calm and settled into their game. Beaudin scored his first playoff goal after stripping the puck from Gregor and shortly afterward Batherson scored his team leading 10th goal on a nice passing play from Chlapik and Balcers.

The second period ended with some rough stuff after Prout laid out Batherson and was immediately jumped by Balcers, when Prout dropped the gloves 6'4 Logan Brown jumped in and quite handily beat down Prout.

The third period saw San Jose take the lead once again, but after going up 3-2 Belleville was able to respond, and the goals kept coming; as the Barracuda surrendered 4 unanswered goals.

Somehow lost all my notes from Game 2, but SJ bounced back with a 3-1 Win to split the series.

FAMILIAR FOES BATTLE FOR LORD STANLEY
                          May 24th, 2022

The Stanley Cup Finals have been decided. The resurgent Chicago Blackhawks disposed of the Anaheim Ducks in six game (4-2); while Tampa Bay was pushed to the brink when a young and talented Philadelphia team forced a Game 7.

A retooled Blackhawks team, are still riding the backs of Elite Forwards Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, while also having Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook on the backend. The Lightning have had great success through their depth, mobile defense and stellar goaltending. It also doesn't hurt to have Elite scoring threats like Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov.

These two teams have a history, having met back in the 2014/15 season, where Chicago took Game Six in Overtime to win their third cup of the decade.

Or some other low overall Grinder/Enforcer. I wouldn't suggest getting someone like Michael Ferland for example- that'd be a waste of talent in the AHL. But some low overall tough guy. Especially for playoffs

I think the Organization is really lacking in players that are Grinders or Enforcers. I could have sent down Brouwer for the Playoffs, but he would have taken the spot of a more skilled player.

I've had Logan Brown, who is a big Power Forward stick up for his more skilled teammates. I may have to look for someone at the Draft.
