Munich, Bavaria (AP) - Sunday afternoon was an absolute thriller at Allianz Arena as Bayern Munchen used some late match heroics to pull out a 2-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen to remain unblemished in the Bundesliga. Leverkusen really deserved better on the day. Moussa Diaby was spectacular for the visitors. He scored in the 12th minute, sent in on a great pass from Karim Bellrabi, and he beat Manuel Neuer to give Leverkusen the early lead.
FC Bayern had chances in the opening 45 minutes, but they coul dnot convert. Kingsley Coman had a header go just wide in the 36th minute and Robert Lewandowski was stopped point blank by Hradacky in the 43rd minute to send Leverkusen to half up 1-nil.
Leverkusen's luck finally ran out in the 59th minute as Lars Bender turned it over in the penalty area and Corentin Tolisso made them pay. But the tide seemed to turn after that goal as Leverkusen took over the match, dominating possession and outshooting Bayern 3-0 over the next 25 minutes. But Manuel Neuer absolutely robbed Dani Olmo in the 69th minute, and made a great save on Moussa Diaby in the 80th minute to keep the match level.
