I read FSU would be running a lot more 3-4 with the new staff, but not exclusively. Either way losing a 250lb DT doesn't hurt too much. FSU needs to stop recruiting these undersized kids with the hope they bulk up.

Well, neither Stoops nor Hudson have run the 3-4. So that's what I'm basing it on. It definitely can change.

Barnes never seemed like a solid commitment. He had been looking around for awhile. I think under the new staff you'll see them recruiting kids with more size. Recruiting undersized players and bulking them up was what the old staff wanted.

And was the downfall of the program in the end. As glad as I am FSU got LMJ, his 5'8 height scares me to death out there in the secondary. I know FSU just signed the "Godfather of S & C" but until I see the results in bigger, stronger players I'll be optimistic.

Well, after a year at Fork Union he hasn't had any problems and has reportedly turned things around... he plans to be in Columbus in June. At the end of the article reporting this, Jamel thanked Buckeye nation for their support and said he won't let them down.

Rivals 3* WR/CB Bradley Roby supposedly will switch his verbal from Vanderbilt to Ohio State.
Turner is HUGE. He would be a great fit with tOSU wanting the 3-4 defense soon, he would be a big fit into that.

I know very little about Roby.

He came up to camp and was simply dominant at corner... the staff is recruiting him as an ATH but they see him as a corner. He's a great student, has good ball skills and speed, and he's versatile.

He's from the same HS as Cam Heyward and he's got a very close relationship with them and he said Cam's mom helped interest him in OSU.

              How cute.

Miami loses 4*LB Javarie Johnson to Maryland. Nice. To replace him, Shannon brings in 2*LB all the way from Cali, Kevin Cain.

              Randy Shannon sucks.

I think Todd Chandler has major issues when it comes to actually qualifying.

have you heard any word on Timothy Patterson? I really want this kid.

I think this will go down as the first major recruiting battle between Coach Strong and Joker Phillips. I haven't heard much recently other than he visited this past weekend. It can't hurt that Louisville received his last visit or that his good friend and teammate Robinson has already committed to the Cardinals.

Coach Strong has another 3* QB prospect coming in next week that was recruited by Florida. 6'3" 210lb Marcus Smith from Georgia I believe.

BTW, the commitment of Kamal Hogan, BIG commit. May be the most underrated commit as of recently. Kid looks amazing on tape.

RB depth is starting to take shape which I haven't seen stock like this in I don't know how long!
                        Victor Anderson/Bilal Powell
                        Darius Ashley
                        Jeremy Wright
Quan Weaver - could use redshirt to get his health up
                        Kamal Hogan
                        Corvin Lamb

Kyle Prater has backed off his commitment to USC according to ESPN Chicago and will not enroll early as previously planned.
                          Linkage

While still committed to USC, he again closely examined Illinois and Notre Dame. Ultimately, he would back his commitment to USC again. He even reaffirmed it earlier this week while preparing to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

But on Saturday, that tune changed once again as the Seahawks neared a deal with Carroll.

"I really don't know what to say," Prater told Scouts Inc. "I'm pretty shocked. I'm just trying to get with my family and my head right. I'm not going to be in Los Angeles on Monday. It just hurts. I really don't know what to say. I wasn't told of anything. I just need to sit down with my family."
If he does back out from USC, it could come down to Illinois and Notre Dame . 6'6" 210...you have to at least judge his interest...let's get on it Coach Kelly!

I have more faith in Zooker pulling a highly rated recruit than Kelly at this point.

I don't, Illinois sucks and recruits saw how terrible that offense was and will be plus they will look at the fact Benn bolted as soon as he could. I wondering how Zook still has his job. In ND's case Prater and Floyd on the field at the same time could be deadly.
