Clemson wears purple and they play in the ACC. Enough said.

Lets talk about Texas vs. whoever in the National Championship.
I hope its Texas vs. The Virgin and co.

If Texas is healthy for the NC they will hang 50 on whoever they play.

Also, Im sick of hearing people hating on the Big 12's defenses. If your team played in the Big 12 they would get lit up week after week too.

Do you really think Va. Tech is a better program than Ohio State? Do you really think anyone in the ACC is comparable right now? Are you just arguing to be arguing?

Ohio State may have lost their defensive coordinator from their championship team but they are still winning 10+ games every year, winning the Big 10, and dominating Michigan.

What ACC team has a better resume then Ohio State right now? I don't care for Ohio State I was just responding to what the Clemson guy said.

Where did I say any of that? You said ECU beat VT in Blacksburg. They didn't.

Ohio State may have lost their defensive coordinator from their championship team but they are still winning 10+ games every year, winning the Big 10, and dominating Michigan.

And when they face a truly elite team, they're getting beaten. The Big Ten is a joke right now. OSU fans hate Jim Heacock, and for good reason. He's a great coordinator against hapless Big 10 teams. Against a nationally elite team that is comparable to OSU when it comes to talent, he's a joke.

The NCAA does not recognize any I-A (FBS) champion. It is voted on by sportswriters and coaches. Hence, it is "mythical".

well let me ask this question since everyone either gets talked down to if they go too far back for living in the past or you might get called an idiot if you dont go back far enough.

ARE YOU TALKING ALL-TIME or just recently? clarify....because in the 90's Nebraska and Florida State owned the WORLD of college football, Oklahoma sucked a$$ in the 90's and would still suck today if stoops didnt pull them out in '99-2000, hell, i would say Clemson's teams of the 90's would beat Oklahoma's 90 teams any day of the week for that matter, and OSU....they were busy losing to Big Blue every season pretty much. Actually I am going to say it, Cooper-lead Ohio State teams all choked and werent to be taken serious except maybe Eddie George's Heisman year....but wait...they lost to Michigan that year too. Are we goin' back to the 80's? 70's. Tell me, Who do you want to me to stack up in the ACC against OSU and what year do you want to start from? Just thank the Lord that Ohio State plays in the Big 10 where championship games are AWOL and where if you can manage to beat PSU or Michigan and maybe avoid Purdue or Iowa on the schedule you will go undefeated. tough tough tough.

Why the hell would we be talking about coaches and players from the 90's,80's or 70's? They have nothing to do with a program right now, or else Virginia Tech would still be considered a bad team and Miami would still be good, rather than the mess they have been the past 3 years..

thank you for clarifying. because i was going to say in the past 30 years hardly any team can match what FSU did in the just the late 80's to 2000, 14 CONSECUTIVE season ranked in the final TOP 5. That is virtually unheard of. BUT since we are talking today. In the ACC currently, I believe that VaTech, any given year can beat OSU with beamer-ball its always possible. FSU and Miami would challenge because of their defenses if nothing else, Georgia Tech (go ahead laugh) will sneak up on you and before you know it that option offense leaves you wondering what just happened. (ask Matt Stafford and UGA) and if Illinois can be competitive with OSU and they arent even a "good" Big 10 team, dont you think that its possible that the 4 teams mentioned above can hang with them?

Yes but hanging with a team and actually beating them are two different things.

Ohio State would win against those teams more often then not. Va. Tech would have the best chance but they haven't really done anything to make me think they are better then Ohio State.

The ACC has a bunch of decent teams but they need FSU and Miami to be FSU and Miami again.

It doesn't just have to be Miami or FSU. The ACC would be fine if any school really stepped up and became a nationally elite team. VT has been very good and are clearly the class of the conference, but they haven't broken through into MNC territory. Obviously it would help if Miami or FSU got back to their old form, but I don't see a huge difference if some other team becomes a consistent national contender instead of them.
