I don't think it will as much because I think a lot of casual fans would complain and say it's too boring, particularly the students and younger fans. What do you think?

Will teams start copying Ga. Tech & Navy
By implementing the wishbone or using it sometimes? The spread was once an unusual offense and now it seems there are more teams using the spread than not. Will the same thing happen with the old under center triple option that Paul Johnson has had success with?

Most of the top athletes do not want to play in that system.
If you're really good and want to go pro, playing in an option offense isn't what you want to do.
If you're a top QB or WR would you want to play for Ga. Tech?***My Teams***

Re: Will teams start copying Ga. Tech & Navy
Also, if everyone starts to do it, that takes away from why it is so effective... Having only a week to prepare for an offense that is so different is one of the key advantages to running it... If everyone started doing it all the preperation would be personnel-based... Then again, I could be wrong and then the offense would just mutate even more...Comment

What about teams that don't bring in top athletes? Mid-Majors or bad BCS teams? Does Georgia Tech not have top athletes?Comment

"I find the spread entertaining and the wishbone boring and stale."
Thanks for the honest answer. That's why I think many coaches and AD's will hesitate to implement this scheme and hire coaches who do. Because of backlash from young fans. I wonder what students at Georgia Tech think of the offense.Comment

Re: Will teams start copying Ga. Tech & Navy
LOL. If I'm a top recruit, I definitely want to goto a school that runs the wishbone and has no aspirations of playing for championships. NOT!
To answer your question, Ga. Tech does not have top athletes. They have good athletes and are very well coached for the system their coaching staff runs.
Ga. Tech will never win a championship running that offense.***My Teams***

Re: Will teams start copying Ga. Tech & Navy
Georgia Tech plays in the ACC. That's like saying in 2007 "I wonder what Hawaii fans think of the "throw the ball 90% of the time" offense."
Being the ACC champion means absolutely nothing.
Statistically, the ACC champion is the worst performing champion in BCS bowls. It's significantly worse than the other 5 BCS conferences, the MWC, and the WAC, and the CUSA, MAC, and Sunbelt at least have no data as opposed to the 2-9 record of the ACC.Comment

Re: Will teams start copying Ga. Tech & Navy
I'm not saying that Georgia Tech is a national contender. I'm saying that this offense helped that team to go from an average team in it's conference to a potential champion.
If I'm New Mexico or E. Michigan and am getting kicked around by teams in my own conference why wouldn't I try this offense?Comment
