To everyone that keeps saying they didn't follow the procedures for a concussion, the doctor sent him back to practice. Adam was cleared to be there, nothing about having to go inside, sitting down, etc. Leach was pissed because the baby showed up late, didn't care, etc. Leach said fine, your eyes need to be shaded, go in the dark garage. No were did Leach make him do anything he shouldn't have done. Yes Adam had a mild concussion, but I bet most real players would have been out there practicing by them self, lifting, running, etc.
but Adam James doesn't have to do anything. he is Craig James' son, he can do what he wants. so he shows up late, wearing street clothes and sunglasses.

WOW, the things people say and actually believe. The only facts that we have at this point and time is the 2 gentlemen's statement in a sworn affidavit. Statements are made and signed later all the time simply based on language, you speak one way and its transcribed, its edited and sifted through by lawyers to make sure the language is correct. It is then giving to the witness, they read it to make sure this is what they stated earlier and then they sign it. It's called an investigation, on 12/22/09 we had a preliminary interview and in that interview you stated x,y, and z. Will you swear to those statements in a sworn affidavit, yes.

Mike Leach, was wrong. Mike Leach was wrong.

ESPN can't help them self. On the TT game, the announcers just said that Craig James was courageous for coming forward and speaking about what happened.

1.You never sign without having your representation review your statement with you.

          2. The trainer is saying the action against James was punitive. Read #5 & #6 and then #11 of the first affidavit. That's a problem if true for Leach.

          3. If anything happened to you on that field then your family could sue TT. Your not getting cleared until you pass baseline testing. Clearing a guy early aint worth it.
I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....

            1. I would think his lawyer was there when he gave his statement and probably prepared it.

            2. It definitely was punitive, but also Leach did nothing wrong as the doctor cleared him. The doctor obvious didn't think there was potential for problems, otherwise he would have sent him to the hospital.

            3. The doctor cleared him to be at practice, he wasn't cleared for contact drills. I haven't seen if he wasn't cleared for non contact drills though, so I would assume he would be able to do that since the doctor sent him back to the practice field.

Leach shouldn't have sent him to the garage and media room, but technically there is nothing wrong with what he did.

                Re: Mike Leach fired

Listening to Ruffin McNeill's post game interview on the field I got a feeling that Leach isn't going to have much support from those still with the TT program. Ol' Ruffin practically recited his letter of interest coverletter for the job. He stated he was ready to take the job and he would tell the parents of his recruits that he would take care of their kid. That to me sounds odd, almost as if he is either CYAing to finally get his shot at his own program or he knows Leach was in the wrong and Leach is on his own from this point on. A very interesting situation.

I also have to agree with the statement made earlier that everyone will be re-evalutating their policies. The district in which I work has a new superintendent this year. He comes to our small district from a larger one in Missouri. His initially talk with the entire district staff members was heavy with never putting yourself in the situation for a lawsuit. We all think he is lawsuit paranoid, but man in this day and age, you have to be. I still think it is horsecrap. You should be able to administer any type of discipline that does not put a child in danger which includes isolation timeout. Putting a youth in timeout is not dangerous.

There are a ton of pictures on that Team Leach facebook page. My favorite was a "Trapped in the Closet" spoof with a picture of Adam James' face in place of R. Kelly.

there is one that has a picture of Adam with the caption, "Tools, every shed has one" but it's too small to really make out.

What if the coach over stepped appropriate behavior? You have a student athlete recovering from a brain injury and the Coach is trying to make an example of him by putting him in an environment where he isn't comfortable. I don't know if the coach should be fired but something needed to be done.

I have had several concussions and being in those environments would have been tortured. He didn't cause harm but he intended to cause discomfort to someone that was recovering from a brain injury.
