Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Reporting has hit a new low. So much crap that NEVER would have been published by any respectable reporter 15 years ago gets thrown onto Twitter.Ryan Spencer

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Anyways, apparently the six remaining Big East Presidents of football schools will be meeting in Washington D.C. on Sunday. Note that TCU's President will not be there.
Rumor has it that these schools could all withdraw from the Big East and go as a six-team packaged deal to create a Big 12 superconference. I have seen no evidence of this, but it does make some sense. Nevertheless, this is purely my and a few others' speculation and I certainly wouldn't take it to the bank as it is probably not true. It's a scenario that I haven't seen mentioned that has some validity, though.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
A pay site associated with Cincinnati is reporting that BYU, TCU, Louisville, West Virginia, and Cincinnati will join the Big 12.
I HIGHLY doubt this report. I've heard from some people with connections at Iowa State that the conference presidents and ADs are having trouble deciding on how many teams they even want to have in the conference. Sounds like some schools are happy with 10 and others want to get back to divisions and a CCG.Comment

Other than that they don't bring much and certainly are not geographically aligned with the Big 12.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Perhaps, but, for better or for worse, that is irrelevant.
BTW, BYU has reportedly accepted a Big 12 invitation invites are being prepared to be sent out to some Big East teams.
Sources: BYU has accepted Big 12 offer.. Other offers in works with Big East teamsComment

HUGE momentum now that BYU to the Big 12 is an imminent announcement. Take it for what's its worth from a variety of "unnamed sources".Comment

Lets assume that BYU to the Big 12 is a lock. Does that make the Mizzou to SEC move imminent or is that enough for mizzou to stick around?Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Some sites on Twitter are blowing up about an offer extended to WVU, UL, and Cincy.
Supposedly, WVU has 48 hours to respond or the offer is "off the table".
Big 12 wants an anwser in the next 48 Hrs, or offer off table, lays in Ollies hands to take it or to gamble on the SEC ... @CouchFireSports
The 48-hour timeframe sounds dumb and really makes me doubt the validity of the report.Last edited by superjames1992; 09-29-2011, 11:11 PM.Comment
