    1. The South has always been the stronger division in the Big XII, so not much change there.
    2. That doesn't work if they stay at 10. Cincinnati and Louisville are dark horses to join, and if they don't, the divisions you suggested would have 6 in the South, 4 in the North.

The divisions would be horribly unbalanced that way, though. I feel like OU and UT need to be in different divisions, but I have no idea how to work that way out geographically.

If the Big 12 stays at 10 teams, there will be no divisions. The 10 schools will play a nine game round-robin schedule like they do now and like they used to do in the PAC-10.

On #2, I know it would need Cincy and Louisville. NCAA doesn't allow 5 team divisions, I believe.

I am not sold on Cincy going anywhere. They really need a new stadium cuz 30,000 seats will not cut in in the B12

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows

I've heard that BYU is not that well received by Big 12 administration for whatever reason.

Cincinnati has its issues, but it is close to WVU and UL and would lessen the travel for both teams. Nippert is small, but it is an awesome place.

South Florida could be a wild card in this. I doubt USF gets the bid to the Big 12, but you never know. It would be a solid addition and would open up Big 12 inroads to Florida, though it would also mean that the conference would stretch from Texas to Iowa to the Mid-Atlantic to central Florida.

Evidently, WVU's invite is not conditional on Missouri leaving, so I take it that the Big 12 wants to go to 12 teams eventually and get the championship game back at Jerry's World.

Cincy wants to expand Nippert by 10-20k, I think

I heard they cant expand because of how old it is.

They also have a lot of buildings surrounding the stadium which make expansion problematic.

I think they can expand Nippert, but it would be very costly and, frankly, at this point there is not much need.

If they join the Big 12, attendance would likely rise, though. I wonder how much, though, considering they had some trouble selling out Nippert when they were a top ten team in 2009.

Mizzou staying, WVU + Notre Dame = e-pic win (IMO).

There seems to be about .000001% chance of this, though.

I would imagine that when the division is back up to 12 teams, the conference would LOVE to see a UT/OU championship game.

Coming from a guy that's only ever been at schools with on-campus stadiums, I don't think I could stand that.
