I bet the baseball, volleyball, and tennis teams are pumped about 3000 mile trips 2-3 times per week for conference games. And their parents.

LMAO at 3000 miles separating division foes. It's so ridiculous it's funny.

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Boise State and San Diego State will be football-only. SMU, Houston, and UCF aren't in much worse of a position than USF or Colorado already are in.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
San Diego State in the Big East?? Boise State is in Idaho. That's out west, but San Diego State is located on coast of the Pacific Ocean! How can this happen? Things like this defy conventional logic and is beyond any logical assessment. With every school that moves to another conference, college football falls further away from it's own tradition. i don't get how those in charge fail to see what you lose with this.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
I abbreviate it as ORST a lot and NCST. We're not really OSU too often because people assume that's Ohio State or Okie State.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Well it's so ridiculous it's funny because you have conferences that stand for a region, like east, that have teams from as far west as possible. These things aren't even that shocking anymore because we are so desensitized to the amount of re-alignment. things like west coast teams moving to eastern conferences is just another level of absurdness to this wave of conference shuffling. the ridiculousness is being maxed out and this doesn't seem to do anything except to make people question what is going on even more. i'm pretty sure that there was a time where schools were in a conference and that was what conference they were in. I mean yeah we've seen conferences occasionally add a team, but it wasn't done in such a nonchalant way that it is now.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Are you kidding me? If there was a playoff, being in a bcs conference would be more important. The Big 6 conference champs would likely get invites, meaning 2 at large berths in an 8 team playoff, meaning almost no shot if you aren't in a "BCS" conference.
Secondly, what's the big deal? It's just a name. This isn't the old days. It takes about 8 or 9 hours to fly from San Diego to New York (the longest of SDSU's travel, which wouldn't be frequent). As it is now, in the Mountain West, they already will have to travel 6 hours to Hawaii.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Is anyone actually surprised by this? The Big East is just doing what it has to to survive. In fact, if they do get all five teams, that is a best-case scenario considering the circumstances. When the ACC rapes and pillages five teams in seven years, you have to do what you have to do.Comment

Can't wait to see Boise, SDSU, Houston, and SMU compete for the Big East West division championship.
I'm happy for schools like UCF and SMU, but this makes absolutely no geographical sense whatsoever.Comment

TCU was in the Mountain West. SMU was in the WAC. Big 10 has 12 teams. Missouri isn't in the Southeast. People making a big deal over nothing. Like its a new thing.
