WAC is either doomed or going to become a piece of junk. They could add a bunch of FCS schools, like Montana, ND State, Montana State, SD State, Stephen F Austin, or Cal Poly.

The WAC only said "Will you join, please." If they switch it to "Will you join Pretty please, with a cherry on top," Montana will come.

I know Montana said no, but if they offer MSU and those other schools they might say yes.

The WAC is all but done as a football conference. The Texas State Bobcats are reportedly heading to the Sun Belt Conference in 2013.

Rumors going around that UT-Arlington will join Texas State in the Sun Belt for 2013. Although we aren't a football school (yet...), it's weird to see all the WAC logos going over the Southland logos without being in the WAC yet, and now we are waiting for the Sun Belt.

I'm really excited about UNT getting the heck out of the Sun belt. There's is nothing cool about being the worst team in the worst D1 conference in football. We've been trying to get out of that hole for 10 years, and because of SMU c-blocks it's never gone all the way through.

Where is North Texas Going? CUSA? And when? Also, is it definite?

Yeah the rumor is a Friday announcement for the move up to CUSA. Im mainly glad because now the body bag era where UNT had to play a top 3 ranked team to open thee year just to put food on the table is over. The regional rivals and caliber of opponents should cover our expenses naturally instead of having to rely on the alternative.

So now you would rather them be the punching bag in an equally weak conference? The Sun Belt is actually improving, they are one of the few conferences that consistently beat a big conference team.

CUSA is one of the better non BCS conferences the only problem is they are losing most of there good teams.

                            Yes..

Although comparing the belt to CUSA as equally weak is a substantial stretch.

Here are my top 3 reasons why the move is good without even discussing team quality.

                            1. Regional opponents will help ticket sales
                            2. Better marquee names will help ticket sales
                            3. Better conference will bring in better OOC opponent for a home game.

Yes I'm all for taking out lumps if it gets us out of the belt and gives us a chance to make long term strides out the gate.

Looks like there are a total of 6 schools (North Texas, FIU, LA Tech, UTSA, Charlotte, and Old Dominion) joining C-USA: http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoot...ding-6-schools

The A-10 loses yet another school (Charlotte) due to football. I would imagine UMass will be leaving eventually too for the same reasons. Temple is already going to the Big Least.
