Actually it has. VT as the 14th started blowing up on Twiiter a few hours ago.

FSU will not be 14th. Maybe if/when it goes to 16 but not before then. Even at 16 UF is going to do all it can to prevent us from joining

Dead truth right here. VT is a possible... but would def. be before FSU gets in.

I've been wondering why VT hasn't received more buzz in all of this. It's only a 3 hour drive from Knoxville and opens up the DC market....Virginia is IMO in that second pool of talent rich areas behind FL, CA, Ohio Valley and TX.

Great, now they can get lost in what has the potential to be an even worse conference then the one they fought to get out of. Even after spending a year in Blacksburg I still don't understand the mindset of the people around there.

VT would be an interesting addition, if it was possible. Of course, if you ask most any AD they are going to deny it, until something concrete is in place. If plans fell through, you wouldn't want to piss off the conference you're still a member of. I don't think its wise to take any one persons word, in these situations.

+ theres not all ready a school from Virginia in the SEC..

Texas legislature (Higher Ed committee) has called a special meeting re: A&M apparently.

I wonder why? Cause according to AggieYell and auburnalumni it's official a&m is in the sec now.

From the agenda: "Item 15) Authorization for the President to Take All Actions Relating to Texas A&M's Athletic Conference Alignment"

This will precede a Tuesday meeting of the Texas House Higher Education Committee. Big 12, SEC commissioners, TAMUS Board Chairman invited.

A&M System Board will meet in executive session on the A&M/SEC/Loftin authorization. A vote is scheduled as the last item in open session.

Conceivably, SEC invite drafted (sent?) this weekend, A&M Regents give Loftin power to move Monday, and the Aggies make leap next week.

I can't see Virginia legislature allowing VT to go before UVa. Now that VT is in the ACC, they are basically tied at leg with UVa.

So this basically will set the dominoes in motion throughout the landscape again. Before we know it, there will be the ACC, Big 16, Pac 16 and SEC only as the power conferences.

I guess they should apologize for making more money than any program in the country. In the big 12, or whatever you want to call it, the more money you put in the conference coffers, the more you get back. If we were in Stalinist Russia, then perhaps Kansas St. would make the same amount as Texas. Having a non state sponsored network would not be allowed either, but then I guess we wouldnt have football anyway so nevermind.

These are non-profit institution, capitalism should not be involved. If things become unequal it turns into an anti-trust issue. UT is intentionally trying to hold everyone under their thumb. In business making more money than the next guy is fair, these are supposed to be educational institutions, that's what the deal is.
