I can understand there is a bad blood, but yall are probably going way overboard imo. If it was as bad as ya'll are saying, the two programs would not have gone out of their ways to schedule each other as much as they have been since the SWC broke up. If it's that bad, Texas wouldnt deal with UH or schedule them at all.

I dont know how reputable the source in that article is, but he seems to have stated that the commish brought up UH. Ive been hearing it elsewhere also. There might be some smoke there.

and btw, if UT called the shots as much as some say, then the '08 situation (when 0U was picked over UT for the NC) would have came out quite a bit differently

UT hasn't scheduled the Coogs in football since 2002.

Na-na-na-na! Na-na-na-na! Hey hey heyyyyy! Goodbye!

The MWC, PAC, B1G and Big East are salivating right now.

If (When) A&M leaves, and if (when) the Big 12 breaks up, this is what I think will happen:

                Oklahoma- SEC/PAC/B1G
                OK State- SEC/PAC
                Iowa State- MWC/Big East
                Baylor- MWC/Big East
                Kansas- MWC/PAC/Big East
                K-State- MWC/PAC/Big East
                Tech- PAC/SEC/Big East/B1G
                Missouri- B1G/Big East/SEC/MWC

Listed in order from Most Likely to Least Likely, IMO.
                Football: Denver Broncos
                Baseball: Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs
                Hockey: Allentown Phantoms
NCAA: The College of William and Mary Tribe

Idk man, they would probably rather see another program join (also because of the Horns' recruiting base in Houston) but do you think they hate UH so badly that UT would threaten to leave the conference if they were to add UH? I dont see it. Dodds will probably be looking to retire soon anyway.

lol ya that was classic joke

I was talking about all of this criticism towards Texas for making money and wanting to make more. Its suprising that SEC folks would look down on someone being capitalist. I guess if football spreads the wealth evenly its different though lol. The ironic thing is that UT is the most liberal place in the SW. Anyway, I dont want to get political.

How does Texas getting leapfrogged have anything to do with calling the shots? What were they supposed to do, change the rules midseason?

I don't think Texas A&M leaving is going to kill the conference. Anyone who thinks that is insane. Texas doesn't want to be independent. I've read reports that the Big Ten might let them keep the Longhorn network. But honest to goodness, Texas wants to be the big fish. There's lots of Big Fish in the Big Ten.

Missouri and Kansas are not going anywhere. The Big Ten isn't going to get any school unless they think it will get them Texas or Notre Dame. Getting Nebraska was just to get to 12 games and they thought it might set off dominoes that might get them the Horns or the Irish, and it almost worked. But Missouri or Kansas are not Nebraska.

The only Big XII schools that have options are Oklahoma and Oklahoma State (and State only because big brother wants to bring them along). I bet Oklahoma has talked with the SEC. I don't think it's moved as far as A&M, and I don't think it will unless the SEC is ready to go to 16 teams. I bet the Pac 10 is thinking about it. But here's the big one no one is thinking about - Oklahoma/OSU to the Big Ten. I don't know how that works academic standards wise, to be honest, but that might accomplish some of the Big Ten's goals. For one, Nebraska is happy because they get their traditional rival back, since hopefully they'd be in the same division. In addition, maybe they have a shot at Texas. At that point, it's just Texas and the Not Ready for Primetime players, and it might start costing Texas BCS games. Maybe Texas moves up north (though I think they'd be more likely to go to the Pac 12 since, as mentioned earlier, they like to be the big fish).

For the record, on Oklahoma moving, I don't think it's imminent at all - I think Oklahoma will move on, but it won't be for a few years. I'm sure they've had internal discussions about every conference and the pros and cons. But I'm sure they're a lot more ticked off than they're letting on - they have more right than A&M to be upset because of how poorly they've been treated, despite being a top-level program themselves.

If Ok/OSU were to go B1G, and A&M does go SEC, and Texas goes Pac 12, I think Tech probably goes with Texas, Kansas/Missouri and maybe K-State go to the Big East, and everyone else joins non-BCS conferences.

No one wants to be left without a chair when the music stops. If the TAMU thing does happen it will set off a flurry of activity as schools look to secure a place at the grown ups table.

I've been wondering why VT hasn't received more buzz in all of this. It's only a 3 hour drive from Knoxville and opens up the DC market....Virginia is IMO in that second pool of talent rich areas behind FL, CA, Ohio Valley and TX.

Actually it has. VT as the 14th started blowing up on Twiiter a few hours ago.

FSU will not be 14th. Maybe if/when it goes to 16 but not before then. Even at 16 UF is going to do all it can to prevent us from joining
