Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Yeah, New Mexico State may be football only too since they are outside the "footprint" of the Sun Belt. Then you'd have 11 football teams and 10 basketball teams. The only thing is that Idaho and New Mexico State were thorns in Karl Benson's side while in the WAC and were the ones that pushed his removal as commish before the league fell apart last summer. There may be too much bad blood, especially with Idaho who really were the ringleaders of the WAC.
On the other hand, does the Sun Belt want a bunch of transition programs along with Georgia Southern making the move up along with Georgia State and South Alabama just making the move up.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Word is the GT to the B1G is a done deal, also heard Kansas to follow. I would say that GT is easily replaceable as they are a middle of the road team but those teams that are available for poaching are being gobbled up.
So if its true then I would imagine that the ACC grabs a BE team(UCONN or Cinci) or they try and poach a Big XII team(assuming KU leaves).
Here is my solution, have all conferences break away from the NCAA and form a new league. Dissolve all the conferences and form new regional conferences. This new league then creates multiple TV channels for each region. Teams like Texas and ND can still keep their channels and teams that preform better in TV ratings get bonuses based on how well they do. It's not perfect but at least or would make sense geographicallyMy dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

hmmm. With all of the conferences going to 16, is it inevitable that Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma & Ok St will be joining the Pac? Still a major long shot...but I'm hopeful.Chicago Bears

MLS: Portland Timbers

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Kansas would be...interesting.
Georgia Tech is a decent school which could easily become much better in time. They provide a lot of high quality football and basketball opportunities.
Kansas would be football suicide and I would absolutely hate to see them in the Big Ten. Their basketball, though, would be awesome and fit right in with the other schools like Indiana and the others.
Would much rather the Big Ten go after Texas again.Too Old To Game Club

I'm sure Kansas can get out of that deal. If Kansas and GTech leave, I imagine the ACC would go for a Big 12 member.
Maybe Baylor or Iowa State? I don't think thu could get the big guys, and many of the Big 12 schools aren't the best academically.Football: Denver Broncos
Baseball: Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs
Hockey: Allentown Phantoms
