I think he was just pulling stuff out of his ***. Dave Matter of the Columbia, MO Tribune spoke with Mizzou officials and reported that they have had zero contact with the SEC.Comment

of course they did, you don't confirm it unless you know you are going. I can't see Mizzou in the SEC.Comment

Yeah the Mizzou talk is sketchy. I can't imagine the SEC taking them on without going through a list of candidates on the east coast first. No offense to any Mizzou fans, but they would be pretty far down on the list of schools that make sense for an additional SEC school.Comment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
The fact of the matter is...if the SEC offers TX A&M, Oklahoma, OK State, and say Missouri...they will all go. The SEC gives out fair shares to everyone and does not give an Alabama extra perks over say an Ole Miss in revenue, etc.
The Texas Longhorns Conference seems fishy on that front if you ask me, as far as being fair to all.Comment

Texas, on the other hand, generates WAY more money than any other Big 12 team. Not even close. So it's understandable they don't want to just hand over a portion of that to Iowa State, Baylor, etc. The other Big 12 schools put up with the inequitable distribution of revenues because without Texas on board, there's no way they could make as much.Ryan Spencer

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
Once upon a time there was a birth of two twin teams. Texas and Texas A&M. Both showed below average intelligence leading into puberty. While one grew large beautiful orange hair and became known as "Mrs. Longhorn" the other one grew hideous acne and was mistaken as a hick farmer and was called "Mrs. Aggie". Guess which was more popular. Mrs. Longhorn was more successful while Mrs. Aggie turned into the Aggie because her ugliness was unrivaled. This embarrassment led to The Aggie changing her hair color to red and being a hateful and whiny girl. Mrs. Longhorn kept winning til' The Aggie found success. This stopped making Mrs. Aggie to keep cutting her wrist and even Mrs. Longhorn started to lose yet she kept on becoming more and more cocky. Soon Texas A&M learned to cope with her envy by developing delusional tendencies. Texas started to win again but kept eating a lot of Cheetos to cope with the pressure of success. Texas exercised so she kept on winning. But in the past year with the eventual fallout of the Big 12 Book Club and Woman's Health Clinic. Texas developed nervous tendencies and started to stop exercising but stuffing her self with Cheetos. Yet somehow people started watching her with pure wonder making her become more and and fatter everyday. People started calling Mrs. Texas by the name of "Snookie". Even the fact that she loses she still seems to win. This made Texas A&M get angry and she tried to hook up with the Gentlemen's Club"The SEC" but this attempt failed which made the Book Club and Texas hate the Aggie even more.
Tomorrow we talk about the bastardization of Baylor and the Texas Tech saga which was led by a ESPN analyst son's least favorite coach, Mike Leach.

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
The SEC would certainly be interested in adding TAMU to the conference, as that increases the size of the SEC market.
Clemson wouldn't greatly increase the size of the SEC's market.
Georgia Tech wouldn't greatly increase the size of the SEC's market.
Florida State wouldn't greatly increase the size of the SEC's market.
North Carolina (or any school in NC) would increase the size of the SEC's market. As would either Oklahoma school or Missouri.
Adding an east coast team with TAMU means the current 12 don't have to change their divisions, so everything would be fine and dandy.
However, added two teams to the western side presents a problem when it comes to rivalries. Obviously, we'd have to move either Auburn or Alabama to the east.
But... that messes with 3 of the biggest rivalries in the conference.
Alabama-Tennessee, Alabama-Auburn, Auburn-Georgia.
Both teams' cross-division "protected rival" is also a legit major rivalry game for those schools (like LSU-Florida, but unlike Arkansas-South Carolina, for example).
If we, for example, move Auburn to the east, now they're going to get their game with Georgia every season, because they're in the same division. But now the only way to keep them playing Alabama for that massive in-state rivalry is to break the cross division protected rivalry between Bama-Tennessee.
No, sorry... whatever the SEC does, it's probably not going to involve changing the division of any of the current members. The only division swap I can think of that does throw a wrench into too many major conference rivalries would be to move Kentucky west... but that doesn't help get teams into the east division...Comment
