Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
I disagree. Go to the Orangebloods.com and read that premium board. Everyone says see ya later A&M, but people are upset about losing OU as a rival. If you are UT fan than you would know who the true rival is. Not saying A&M isn't a rival, but not the biggest one. You would be wrong about the OU/Texas rivalry being big only in the BCS era. It has been big for far longer than that.
As far as OU, is that why at the Bedlam game, you will routinely see OU fan with the upside down horn? I haven't been to Oklahoma, but I would be willing to bet that OU/Texas is bigger than OU/Ok State.Last edited by choadler; 09-08-2011, 01:09 PM.Comment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
thats only because a lot of those people are bandwagon hoppers. what do you think they were saying in the late 80s early 90s when OU was winning 6 games a year and A&M was winning 10? who was the bigger rival then? The downturn of A&Ms football has hurt the rivalry a bit in this era of instant gratification but to most of the UT people the biggest rivalry is A&M
A&M was only relevant for 10 to 12 years. When they got busted for cheating, their program went back to its historical levels.
Look at the records, Texas owns A&M. A&M could win 40 years straight and then they would begin to even up the record versus Texas. Texas A&M lives and dies by Texas. Their traditions, their fightsong, is all about Texas. It is simply not the case with Texas. For Texas fan it is like little brother is trying to assert himself and you need to put him back in his place. And at the end of the day, A&M and Texas are still Texans.
Oklahoma and Texas, that is a border war where OU are called the land thieves. No love is lost between these two. They have the best gameday site, split evenly between the 50 yard line and equal distant from Austin and Norman. The record stands at 60-40 in favor of Texas and has historically been far more competitive in the BCS era or not.
Like I said, if you were a Texas fan, you would know.Last edited by choadler; 09-08-2011, 01:36 PM.Comment

because neither of them have their own hand signs. Why do you think OU will only move conferences with OSU and is willing to give up the OU/UT game to do it?
Oklahoma State Legislature will not let those two schools split up much like Kansas St and Kansas split up. It would be devastating to Okie Lite to get dropped as they would most likely not end up in a one of the big conferences if that occurred. Why do you think Baylor got into the Big 12, the state legislature got involved and ensured that Baylor got in. Not because it was a good fit or they were a rival for Texas.Comment
