Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
I hate the fact that there are no pre-play camera shots. I also wish there were some tight above-waist post-play shots (broadcast style). I'll say that NCAA's post-play is better than Madden's mess though. Way better. Still, they really need to make some new post-play animations. They've just completely neglected this all generation and it really continues to hurt post-play.
The cut scenes as far as I've seen have no hideous black screens in-between like Madden's, so that's great. They move very quick and smooth. They did a really good job with the speed there.
The menus are sweet.
Overall, this is a good football game. I like the control feel. I can't say it's a 100% night and day difference with the feel, but the difference is considerable enough. I can really see the work they put into this game. Last year's game was such a piece of trash, it pales in comparison to this year's effort. Right now, it looks like a definite buy for me. Good job NCAA team, good job.
P.S. This is the best-looking football game I've seen released so far. I'm very impressed with the detail and the lighting.
P.P.S. The stadium sound is way too loud for a broadcast. Turning that down will be my first order of business after popping it in.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
After playing the game some more on Heisman, my initial optimism for the game has dropped a little bit. I am starting to see too many WRs speed burst ahead to make catches that they shouldn't be making. I had a TE that was being perfectly covered by a CB just magically "warp" ahead to make a catch that should be incomplete. I am also seeing the same things on defense with CBs.
My DTs are also getting pancaked way too much on Heisman whenever I try to do spin and rip moves. I don't know if I am doing something wrong, but me seeing my DT flat on his stomach time and time again is getting old. I am also getting little to no pressure on the QB with just my front four.
Hopefully these issues are fixed in the retail version, or at least maybe sliders can help some. I have a sinking feeling that neither is the case, as these issues have been in the game for years now. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
The graphics, lighting and especially the grass textures are awesome though.
It's been that way for years. Sure you can make sliders that tone some it down but in the world of Heisman mode you can't expect to those things to vanish because that is how they (EA) create their highest levels to be competive.
I'm pretty sure after playing the demo you can get the most realistic game play factoring in ratings on the lower levels....
My only gripe with the demo is all level's feel kinda easy for me to exploit to the CPU right now.....
But i'm looking forward to the final version because I think this game is going to be flat out sick with slider editsNCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

If the home team durung these games lost the game it would count as a home loss in the top 25 toughest places to play screen.PSN: buckeye02Comment

Don't know or care if this is already been stated, but I just want to emphisize...
Pulling guards/centers on toss plays hit no one. It's like their assignment a.i. forces them to block whom ever gets in their path and not the first guy they see whilst pulling

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
The linemen need to stop falling on their stomach when I use the thumbstick ffs. Same **** in Madden 10, not happy that it is in this game too. The coverage in zone is still bad when QBs run around behind the LOS, they just sit there waiting for the QB to make a move rather than rushing him and pressuring him to make a throw.
I also had a fumble sometime early in a game, and the black bar all the way on the right said 'fumble' for the rest of the game.Comment

Yes, its terribleComment

I like it alot. I thought it was gonna feel terrible like Madden 10 but it doesn't at all. Everything is perfect except they still have that in air animation and just when they run they are leaning forward a little too much. But like I said other than that I can't wait until July 13th.Comment

The key word is Heisman level bro.....

I'm not totally writing the game off, I'm just seeing some things that are a cause for concern with my right now.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Finally, after all these years (Original Madden on sega genesis, 1989) i am kinda over EA football. EA Tiburon's football titles go through the same M.O. each and every year. MINOR improvements and tweaks to the same old game and engine(s).
They throw out catchy tech terms for their "features" ie; "Pro-tak", "Locomotion" etc. I mean, if you step back and look at it for what it is, they actually have to pump and tout gang tackles and realistic player movement? Shouldn't these things be in football titles on pretty powerful hardware by now, 2010?
It's not that the games are AWFUL, it's that they are just OLD and STALE. Tweaks and minor improvements aren't cutting it anymore, not for me. After playing this demo i cannot overcome the feeling of blandness. No exitement or juice, it doesn't grip me. I want to love these games badly, like i used to for many years. EA Tiburon just hasn't done anything with this generation of hardware. Even other EA Sports titles are flat out better. NHL, Fight Night, FIFA. Not to mention other sports games like sony's MLB the show. You see what other developers have done with this hardware (even non sports titles) and its depressing to think what Football COULD and SHOULD be by now.
EA will never give us a "new" football experience this generation. They will keep tweaking the existing game. That holds for a few weeks then after those tweaks wear off, its the same old game nuts and bolts.Comment

UGH, that has upset me for the past 3 years. You throw a pass and it should be overthrown yet the WR magically speeds up and creates separation. It would have helped lessen Robo QB's completion % over the years. The warping on that is crazy and I don't see how more people aren't upset over it.Comment
