Tosses & Sweeps are completely broken thanks to the horrible lead & pull blocking. It's Madden '10 all over again.

Was real assignment AI not put into the demo or is that broke too?

I am enjoying the demo greatly, but the above is frustrating.

I was all excited to download this and play. Downloaded it, played a half and no longer have a desire to play. I didn't not like it, and it def seems to be a different game, but for whatever reason, i have no desire to play this demo a million times like i have in previous years

They throw out catchy tech terms for their "features" ie; "Pro-tak", "Locomotion" etc. I mean, if you step back and look at it for what it is, they actually have to pump and tout gang tackles and realistic player movement? Shouldn't these things be in football titles on pretty powerful hardware by now, 2010?

It's not that the games are AWFUL, it's that they are just OLD and STALE. Tweaks and minor improvements aren't cutting it anymore, not for me. After playing this demo i cannot overcome the feeling of blandness. No exitement or juice, it doesn't grip me. I want to love these games badly, like i used to for many years. EA Tiburon just hasn't done anything with this generation of hardware. Even other EA Sports titles are flat out better. NHL, Fight Night, FIFA. Not to mention other sports games like sony's MLB the show. You see what other developers have done with this hardware (even non sports titles) and its depressing to think what Football COULD and SHOULD be by now.

EA will never give us a "new" football experience this generation. They will keep tweaking the existing game. That holds for a few weeks then after those tweaks wear off, its the same old game nuts and bolts.
Hmm...somehow I missed the "impression" part of that post. If you have specific comments about the demo, let's hear them.

I was initially concerned by that as well, but I then took a step back and reminded myself that this does happen sometimes.

Linebacker pickups are some of the toughest things a lineman has to do, and I know from personal experience how frustrating it can be to watch a linemen pull and not even see the guy he was going for.

A good linebacker will recognize the pull and take an angle that is sharp enough that the lineman can't pick him up.

Let's wait until a pattern is present before calling it a bad thing when it could be quite the opposite.

My impression couldn't be any more clear. Some minor improvements, but basically the same game we have been playing for years. My impression of the game is it's lackluster.

Top game speed feels just as fast as NCAA 10 -- but the key is the acceleration/deceleration/momentum. Plays develop more slowly, and the locomotion makes the field seem "bigger."

Players have to get up to speed first, and that's where I think the magic in NCAA 11 will happen: you should be able to follow your blockers, get up to speed and then explode through an opening.

There is no speed slider in the demo.

I'm all for giving the benefit of the doubt on the demo. The pulling lineman and leadblockers issue has been around for a couple of years though. As long as my center doesn't decide not to block the nosetackle on a goalline dive play this year, I'm going to call it progress.

You can't forget that this is a demo. This is not what you'll be paying for a month from now.

The QB scrambling is sort of a problem as well. I was Clemson and scrambled out of the pocket pretty quickly and had open field to run, but as soon as i hit the LOS the QB seemed like he hit a barrier and did the little gather up like you do on a KR. I understand you gotta limit scrambling QBs but you cant completely ruin a potentially great run just because a QB is running. If you dont want scrambling QBs then either lower the speed/agility/acceleration of them or increase the awareness of defenders to react to a scrambling QB.

Your obviously new around here. That line has been used to death around here year after year, yet is always a 100% fail statement. This will be in the game until it is patched. You are comepletely fooling yourself if you think it wont.

Won playing with Clemson and Texas, lost with FSU and Miami. I like the changes in gameplay, blocking is so much better, (could be to good), had a sack glitch where I could not sack the qb while he just stood there with his back turned to the D. He would not get rid of the ball and just stood in the pocket backwards surrounded by the O line.

I like the game and will pick it up on release.

Best demo ever. Playing NCAA 11 compared to NCAA 10 is almost like playing a PS One game in NCAA 10 to a 360 / PS3 game in 2011. The Locomotion is everything that was written about it. Playing defensive line is fun as hell. No more getting sucked into blocks.

The presentation, graphics, and animations have me pumped for July 13....Outstanding...
