Here's something EA could clarify to help maybe ease some of the stressing about draft classes. Madden said they were using a new system for rating draft classes this year, and I think it would nice to know what the changes are, and what overall rating in NCAA constitutes a draftable player.

I must have missed that blog but I'm actually looking forward to the Madden Draft now.

Plus, half the time I'm just doing sim dynasties, where i take a crappy school and recruit and build them up to a powerhouse. I don't think I'll enjoy building a crappy team up to a mediocre team.
Wow that is a pretty big deal. I mean that is what makes Dynasty mode.... Dynasty mode.

I think the ratings should work out like this...

          5* 79 - 84 overall
          4* 75 - 79 overall
          3* 71 - 76 overall
          2* 67 - 72 overall
          1* 61 - 68 overall

I think the progression you work out as a players "Progression Rating" or something like that? All I know NCAA 10' is a whole lot worse then this years...

True but I'm the kind of player that absolutely LOVES finding those hidden gems that don't look so good in the recruitment stage or draft stage (in Madden) only to find him be a high 80's or low 90's OVR when pre-season starts/finishes.

Now we know that (atleast in NCAA 11) there will NEVER...EVER be a recruit that will come out as a freshman in the high 80's or low 90's because the system is flawed.

Listen I'm all for having it so there aren't alot of 90+ OVR players, but I mean damn ..give me some hidden gems where they come out AS A FRESHMAN with a 90-92 OVR. It doesn't have to be common, but atleast make it happen. The state of the game today = It does NOT happen.

Playing on Freshman makes offline much easier too. Jacking HUM sliders and crippling CPU sliders makes offline much easier. If some lame-o wants to make all his players 99 OVR, good for him. Who cares about any of that?

I want to edit ratings s0 in the event I see something ridiculous - like the starting tailback at Penn State being rated 44 OVR - I can fix it.

EA needs to get with the times on this stuff. Stop not allowing us to do certain things in the interest of "realism." Yes, make the game as realistic as possible, but that doesn't have to preclude giving the player options like this.

Off-topic, but same goes for not allowing us to selecting time and weather during Dynasty. Your 4-hour torrential downpour games suck, EA, I don't want to play in them three times in a row. If I'm in the mood for a rain game, I'll play in a rain game. If a game strikes me as "Okay, this is a night game," I'll choose 8PM. I don't need EA telling me how my game should look, and I don't need them forbidding me from changing my players' ratings.

you guys are talking about a game where if your rb is higher rated your oline magically starts missing fewer blocks.

I wonder when EA will figure out to just put 'recruiting pool talent' and 'progression speed' sliders into the game.

I haven't played more than 4+ yrs of dynasty mode on Next Gen yet but it appears that you will need to this to have all the player ratings on a relatively even playing field. This could all be negated though if the CPU over-recruits for certain positions.

Im the six year into my dynasty and the talent is getting top heavy. I played new mexico state this year and their best player was 58 overall. The next game was agiasnt Army their best player was 59 overall. After the first couple years its been pretty much the same top schools every year Texas,USC, Boise, Alabama, and Ohio state. Those schools were all undefeated last year in my dynasty and its the same thing this year so far. Also because its so hard to recruit and players almost never do much better then their recruiting it makes it hard for smaller schools. Though Duke was top 20 last year

THis is a quote from one of Pasta Padre's articles about the lack of upgrades to Franchise mode in Madden this year.

While that meant not making any major overhauls to Franchise or SuperStar, we were still able to make some notable improvements while we prepare for the future. Specifically, we improved franchise stats (especially season rushing yards and season sacks), in-game injuries, Super Bowl presentation, NCAA Draft Class tuning, and we even completely re-created over 8000 players in 32 draft classes. We also added the new Meadowlands Stadium as the 2014 Super Bowl site.

I think that's what they looked like last year, but this year EA decided it'd be a good idea to stretch out the ratings, but they barely put any thought into it at all.

I've been wanting something like this for a while. That way there'd absolutely no need for us to debate this any longer. If ea jacks up the progession out of the box, then it'd be no big deal because we could just tweak it to our liking.

I agree with this, only problem is having to manually correct 120 teams' 50+ man rosters would be a pain and not worth it. I don't want to have to edit Western Kentucky's roster because all their players are in the 40s and they have 8 QBs. It was painful doing things like creating recruits and fixing the computer over-recruiting positions in College hoops 2k8. Option definitely should be there, but there needs to be easier ways (sliders/tuning sets/patches) that fix things.

Anyone try to put recruiting on Heisman and see if that changes the way the CPU recruits?

Not saying the bad teams will become great, but it could stop a team like Penn State from having 40's RB's.

Edit: Screw it, I'll do it myself. I'll sim a few season with recruiting on heisman and see how that goes.

God no. No Freshman should ever be an 84. Thats ridiculous IMO. My ratings scale on my edited rosters are

                                5*- 80-77
                                4*- 75-72
