The final stage is almost set as we head in to Conference Championships week and there are some huge games this weekend. With Air Force beating Colorado State last week they solidified their spot in the National Championship with a 12-0 record and the #2 ranking in the country. That means there are essentially 4 teams playing for one spot. You have to start with the Pac 12 Championship as the #1 team in the country will face #7 Oregon. Many still believe Oregon to be the more talented team despite having 2 losses on the year, but no one has really taken Arizona St serious outside of the Pac 12. ASU wins they will face Air Force no questions asked. If Oregon wins then they have a shot at jumping some teams for that 2nd spot. Oklahoma and Texas will be a great matchup and OU has all the pressure on them. Texas hasnt beat OU in 4 years so most people are picking OU but thats alot of pressure for a team that was known for their defense all season, but has looked like the modern OU in the past couple of weeks. If Texas wins they could be the reason OU misses out. If Texas and Oregon both win then the Big Ten Championship becomes huge. The Spartans have been great all season and could still slide into the Natty. Wisconsin wins with the other underdogs then Texas, Oregon, and Arkansas are all names in the hat to face Air Force.

Re: RIVALS 23-24
2023 BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP
3 OKLAHOMA vs 6 TEXAS
With OU sitting at #3 and the entire country predicting Oregon to knock off undefeated ASU there was alot of pressure on the Sooners to get this win. Despite a 9 game winning streak in the Rivalry this was THE must win.
1st Half
OU gets the ball first and moves it down the field with a spread attack but cant turn it into points. Texas turns it over with an interception but OU can only manage a fg. Texas struggles the entire half to score including a missed fg, but mainly 4 costly interceptions killed their offense. OU threw some bad ones as well but Texas couldnt hold on to them. Down 0-3 with neither offense doing anything Texas tries to get on the board before the half but they throws another pick. OU overconfident tries to take a deep shot in their endzone, Williams has a man but the guard whiffs on his block. Safety. 3-2 OU at halftime
2nd Half
Texas gets the ball and the drive ends on a sack and punt. OU switches up the offense to catch Texas off guard and it works perfectly. Drive ends in a td run by Major to go up 10-2. Another pick gives OU a short field, 11 yard run by Major then Watkins scores on a 15 yd catch. 17-2. Texas had pretty much given up but they got some big plays and a 37yd bomb to Worthy got them on the board. 17-8 after the 2pt failed. OU goes 3 & out after almost throwing a pick and Texas responds again with a big play to Hines followed by a slant to Worthy to make it 17-15. OU goes 3 & out again and Texas still hot gets a 40 yd td pass to Alexis and their first lead in 7 games against OU with 3:40 left. 22-17 Texas. OU with all the pressure on them gets to another 3rd and long and another pass is almost picked with 2:03 left. OU defense stands up and gets the ball back after a 3&out with 1 timeout left. Caleb puts an incredible drive together and hits Farooq on a deep post for the 23-22 lead. OU goes for 2 and hits Mims in the endzone but he jumps to catch it and runs backwards. 1 point lead and 35 seconds is just enough time for Texas to get down the field. With a huge 3rd down they hit worthy on a stop route giving them a good look at the fg with 3 seconds left and they Nail it.
OU blows their shot at a championship, congrats to Arch.. Heck of a game [emoji1490][emoji1490][emoji1490]

Re: RIVALS 23-24
Yeah, GG. Probably the best defensive half between both our teams ever. That pass on 3rd down was actually a post but you can change what the wr runs depending on when you throw the ball on some routes, like post, corners and a couple more. At halftime we benched Jenkins and put Card in. Card must've got hurt for a little bit because i'm pretty sure Jenkins threw our 1st td pass. A lot dropped picks for us in the game, probably 6 to 8. We've been dropping picks all year tho, luckily the wr's only dropped 2 ball. That's at least a improvement lol.Comment

Re: RIVALS 23-24
Very good defensive ball game, first quarter ASU dominated into late second quarter. We scored with 1:14 left in second and then again with 44 seconds left which let us pound the rock almost the whole second half. Knocked out their RB in the second half and it was ultimately the difference maker. We get two field goals in the fourth to get a 10 point victory and win our third straight PAC title! Title stays in the north and we wait to see if the committee is generous enough to give a shot at the natty we deserve.

Re: RIVALS 23-24
-----------------
After one of the wildest finishes most unexpected finishes in Championship Week we will have one of the most unexpected National Championships in years. Oklahoma was the overwhelming favorite to face #1 Air Force heading into the weekend, but after Texas pulled off the second half comeback and upset that changed everything. Oregon and Michigan St both have 1 loss and should have been ahead of Texas, but the Coaches poll had 2 MSU 3 TEX 4 ORE, while the media poll had 2 ORE 3 TEX 4 MSU... the BCS averaged them out and although the scores were even they gave the nod to the 2 loss team. Whats college football without controversy? On the field you have the nations #1 rushing offense in Air Force and the nations #1 passing offense in Texas. No defense has found a way to stop either so this will either be a chess match between these 2 defensive coordinators, a shoot out, or the overall talent of Texas will completely overwhelm Air Force. Air Force is the only undefeated team in the country and they have this years Heisman winner at RB in Jordan Gidrey. If Texas can stop him that may be the game. Too many weapons on Texas for Air Force to matchup with so I like the Longhorns like most people to maybe play close for a half but create separation by the second half.

Re: RIVALS 23-24
[emoji599][emoji599][emoji599] RULE CHANGE [emoji599][emoji599][emoji599]
Earlier in the year I stated that only passing plays needed to be mixed up but not run plays, eluding to the fact that power guys could do the same run up the middle rather than making him run outside just because.. and vice versa with speed guys.. Idk if you guys are doing that or not but still trying and mix up the actual play call like before, even if it is all up the middle. Having a favorite play or go to is fine but dont literally run it a whole possessionComment
