By now you either love madden or you hate it. The part that I don't understand is why each side still cares about what the other side thinks. We have heard everything there is to say about madden. Just play it or move on and know their are people who are going to bash it and their are people who love it just the same. I guess my point is who cares.

Which game had ultimate team first? Madden 12 was the first year for the madden series.

I'm several pages late here but it was actually released as an update in Madden NFL 10 a few months after the game shipped.

I answered it server pages back, but it got lost in the shuffle of monopoly talk.

FIFA 09 was the first game that EA ever put UT in. It took off in FIFA 10 however. It was an expansion for 09, DLC. It was a full on game mode in 10.

Not sure why that even matters. But there it is.

I agree with your overall point (who cares) but I disagree to an extend with the love it or hate it part.

I certainly don't love it but at the same time I certainly don't hate it either.

That's why these forums are nice, I like to come here and view the different threads.

What I do HATE though is going into everything thread and seeing the same people either bashing the game or bashing those who like the game. It's completely unnecessary.


I'm not saying this to you, just kind of adding on to your post and showing why you see people point out when someone is continually beating a dead horse.

There are a lot of valid points made in this video, you may not like the presentation but that doesn't take away from any of the validity of his statements, fact is he is right.


What I like is I hear a lot of passion in his voice knowing full well that better can be done and he is upset with a lack of passion from the developers, gotta give kudos to someone like that.

Not about his opinion being right, valid, wrong or indifferent or even his presentation being NSFW and passionate/ over the top.

It's all been done before, even a decade earlier. You know the developers are going to make the game they want to, right?

My opinion won't make an impact on the game and others opinion won't make an impact on the game, either.

C'mon Kehlis....we know this one goes both ways though...lol

We have a few folks here (which shall remain nameless) that will do whatever is necessary to "question" the other's views on why they don't like the game.

For the record,I do enjoy the game...in small doses,I certainly can't play like I use to (multiple games) as the game gets boring to me after 1 game.

I'm just tired of the people that just complain to complain. They never include what they do like about the game, and the criticism is just 100% negative and is not constructive.

I remember the days before the internet when, if you stopped liking a game, you just didn't buy it the next year or you gave it or sold it away.

Why does every game have to be liked by all? Why does every game have to cater to you?

In tecmo, if your opponent picked the same play you are going to run, you get sacked almost automatically. That's not realistic at all but we still enjoyed the game immensely.

Sharing a video of someone putting it in their bottom 10 means that you believe this game is unplayable and not fun. The unplayable part is just not true. Claiming it's not fun is just your opinion because A.) You don't have the ability to think outside the box and make it work for you or B.) You have an "all about me" mentality and if something is not done to your liking, it's just not good.

This message board isn't about blowing off steam. It's about a community of gamers discussing the game they enjoy with the ability to criticize the game in a way that is constructive to the discussion. The posted video is not constructive in any way and detracts from the discussion hence that is why it's considered "beating a dead horse".

Come on, man. Tecmo? The technology has advanced to the point where fundamental things that are wrong with the game should be righted. Some things have improved, including the defensive line actually being able to push offensive lineman backwards, and linebackers no longer have MJ verticals.

How does one's belief that a game is not fun a result of the user's failures and not the those of the game itself? A game doesn't have to be completely unplayable to not be fun. A perfectly playable game can be boring as hell in all aspects. just like a nearly unplayable game under the correct circumstances. Just because some of us dislike the game doesn't make us closed-minded, one-dimensional, or just a bunch selfish narcissistic crybabies. Basically, it's like saying that if we don't think watching paint dry for several hours is fun and exciting, it's our faults for being closed-minded whiners.

The biggest issue here clearly is not that Madden fails to live up to the wishes of the crowd that dislikes it, but simply that the crowd that does not like it does not have ANY other options to choose from. They are stuck with just one that they dislike and that is it. And it never changes. It feels nearly the same year to year. To say that is solely our fault is just ignorant and wrong. I am all for Madden continuing to make games. Clearly plenty of people enjoy it. I just wish we had more options, so ALL of the parties involved would be satisfied.

All I have to say is, all the bickering seen in this thread wouldnt exist if we were allowed to continue with 2 football games.

When you have two things competing head to head the amount of argument decreases because the better of the two will usually become preferred. With football gaming weve lost that, and the bitterness over it is starting to show.

I really just want March to bring good news.

See your point and agree to a certain extent, but, we've all seen two or more video game sports genres down to one. No more options for baseball, and no more options for hockey.

One game might dominate the other, but, just the same, I'd still love their to be options out there because the one's left standing, are being blamed for not progressing. So, then, in the end, you are back to square 1.

Gone is the day of MVP, HH, All-Star Baseball, WSB, etc. and no more Sony and 2k football. Times have really changed. You start wondering if there is a market anymore for two or more games in the same genre.

Present day outcomes says there isn't.
