I'm curious to know what happened. Looking back on his E3 videos, he would be pumped about Madden. Why did he leave the GC program?

Re: So who do we believe when it comes to the GameChanger program?
actually i didnt contradict myself. i was saying he acts as if what goes on at EA is that much different than most places. Which im saying its not. its like that at most places you work anymore, you have some people who are lazy and some who arent , nothing new about that anywhere you go now in days. However that doesnt make entire company lazy and not willing to do something but it IS the reason it moves at a slow pace in progress rather than a quick one( one would work quick if everyone there worked hard and not just some) . sorry for confusing you
In madden, "any given sunday" doesn't exist. You can't block kicks, or even disrupt the kicker for that matter, punts can't be blocked either, people will exploit you on 4th and 20 and make it every time, people shake blitz, and the list goes on and on and on. And he states that these people not only make up 90% or (whatever number he gave) of the people who are working on the game, but also are the same people running the show over there. It's pathetic because people actually take pride in the fact that they can exploit their way to wins, rather than accept in the fact that someone is truly better than them at something, even though they both played a well fought game. He continues to add that when you disagree with them they act like the bully in high school and get all their friends to gang up on you and attack you. And if you assert yourself and win the argument they "run to the boss" and you get into trouble for standing up for yourself. When you get a scenario like this one in particular, it leaves the control in the hands of the cheaters and exploiters; therefore, no changes are made and the game released is absolute trash year after year.
Most places I have worked at are NOT like that at all. Of course you get some people who are lazy and schemers, but you get a large number people who are honest, hardworking, and want to do the right thing.
The tournament players will do anything they possibly can to win. Fair play is nonexistent to many of these guys. If they cheat their way to a win, they are proud of it, and will rub it in your face any way they can. And if you disagree with it, they start calling you a few nasty choice words or revert the age old expression "madden basher"... Yet if they took the same time to learn and understand the Xs and Os of the game that they did learning the glitches and exploits they would probably be just as good at the game the way it is meant to be played.
I don't think the main goal for everyone on the simulation side of the spectrum is for 2k specifically to make a game. For all we know, they could completely botch the game far worse than madden has over the years. I think all we really want is a realistic version of simulation football that hasn't existed in years. And if things over there are truly the way he says it is (which it is probably somewhat embellished), we will never see the football game we've been dreaming of as long as EA is in charge.Last edited by HingleMcCringleberry; 02-06-2014, 11:09 PM.Comment

According to others that are in the program and are affiliated with EA, he didn't leave, he was kicked out. Big difference.Comment

Re: So who do we believe when it comes to the GameChanger program?
Yes sir, that is a big difference. Did he violate the terms of the program? I'm asking because he appear to be very hostile towards EA and the GC program. I get the fact he's upset, but the way he's acting takes away from the points he's attempting to convey. I want to hear what he's saying, but it's so distracting.I'm not the master of anything, but a student of everything.Comment

Like inside and outside shading, manual double coverage on WRs and TEs. He also pointed out that in Madden when you shift your linebackers left or right, the defensive line don't re-adjust itself like they should and do in real life.
There, I saved you from watching 13 videos.Comment

Re: So who do we believe when it comes to the GameChanger program?
The important parts of what he was saying is that Madden isn't progressing enough on a year to year basis. Their progression is too slow and that Madden should be much further along then they are now. He also thinks the kicking game is too easy and should be more like Tiger Wood's golf swing mechanic. And finally their should be more control for the user on the defensive side of the ball.

Re: So who do we believe when it comes to the GameChanger program?
i mean i get that the game is slowly progressing. i think the point that many fail to acknowledge that i see ,is the fact that before m13 that madden was doing the opposite , it was going downhill more and more each year. Heck i wouldnt even buy madden 11 . so while some want to complain that its progressing to slow, which i agree it is a slow progression. i am just personally happy to see they at least reversed the direction it was going before and we are now finally seeing some movement forward. To me that says that even if its only 10% of the guys trying to improve it , they are making a difference, otherwise it would still be going down hill. So those few peps are making a difference. Sure i think we can all agree we would rather see more people there who care like those few do,but im glad to know there is finally people in place there to make a positive difference instead of just going straight down hill. which gives me some hope that they may get a few more peps in there in the next couple years to add to the few making the difference now...... that is progression in the right direction to me.Comment

Re: So who do we believe when it comes to the GameChanger program?
"Who do you believe?" You believe what the product tells you. Just about everyone in this thread acknowledges that progression and advancement has been too slow. Even the major off field enhancements they have made since 2012 are very much arcade and very unrealistic.
Look at all the wishlist threads from many years ago, both on field and off field wish list improvements, and compare that to the game today.
It's pretty easy for me to decide who to believe when it comes to the GameChangers program.Comment

Re: So who do we believe when it comes to the GameChanger program?
Coach Ruckus' car analogy is actually a really good one. Like he said, a car needs tires, gasoline, an engine and a battery to work.
Madden's tires have little tread left and are underinflated. Its engine is unreliable. Its battery won't hold a charge and struggles to work in extreme weather conditions. And the people in charge of filling its gas tank continue to funnel in the wrong fuel grade.
Yet, instead of fixing these fundamental issues that prevent the car from working properly, each new model of Madden uses its time and resources to produce a new paint job, or upgrade frivolous items like new floor mats, all-leather interior, Bluetooth support, rear-view cameras, etc.Last edited by jyoung; 02-07-2014, 02:05 PM.Comment

Re: So who do we believe when it comes to the GameChanger program?
He has clearly gone off the deep end. We are now comparing being a Game Changer to slavery? This last group of videos will be the last ones I watch. EA needs to not worry about responding. He has gone from giving valuable insight into delusional (and highly insulting) propaganda.Moderator

^ agreed. the "online play" section could have been trimmed down to one 5 minute video instead of 3 weird whatever the hell videos those were supposed to be... I mean it made good points that I completely agree with, but then it went in a very weird direction...Comment

Re: So who do we believe when it comes to the GameChanger program?
Most people with common sense and have played madden for years know this game has progressed slowly and is weak in a lot of areas that never seem to get improved or fixed. Pointing it out to just people on forums and EA devs is showing to not be a viable way of bringing about any real change.
Someone with some real contacts with the NFL and its players and the media need to take all this evidence and present it to them and make them understand EA should NOT be the only company making a NFL football game.
Youtube has shown it can reach a lot of people and has a strong influence. There is ample videos on it to show people in TV, Radio, etc, that this seeming small issue is a BIG deal. EA needs to be shamed by this publicly to the point to where they are forced to make some REAL changes. If it means having to get another developer to make the game so be it. Tiburon has demonstrated without a doubt they have not got the talent to take this game to the next level.
The whole football gaming community is being held hostage to a very bad relationship between the NFL and EA. Its time something is done to end that deal.Comment

Re: So who do we believe when it comes to the GameChanger program?
Maaaann...
I'm really not trying to get banned but this dude can't be trusted. 3-4 years ago he was a major Madden *****, then he switched frames and became a gamechanger. Now he gets "ex-communicated" and he posts up a video of him eating pancakes and eggs and telling us the "truth".
Look here fellas, ANYBODY who goes to "community day" or a gamechanger program has been compromised. They don't invite people who will be critical of advancements to any of these events. Real talk, go through the post history of the MAJORITY (shout out to the homey rgiles) of the guys from any game who have been invited multiple times and you will see cats who attack anyone who is critical of said game; whether it's smart alec comments, funny GIFS, veiled insults etc. the pattern is the same - defend the game at all costs.
Then again, those who have been kicked out can't be trusted either. His feelings are hurt so he lashes out. In the end, we all know what it is with Madden, The Show, etc...Last edited by Still2REal; 02-08-2014, 12:37 AM.Comment

Re: So who do we believe when it comes to the GameChanger program?
Sorry, as soon as I saw a guy eating breakfast talking to a camera, I turned it off.
Looked like an episode of "the Real World".Comment
