Just played a MUT game against a guy who put gronk at WR and a T at TE and ran toss plays to that side the whole game with a pulling guard. No matter what I couldn't stop it.

I'm just wondering if you guys have come across this and what would be the best way to stop the outside run. I would get guys ont he outside and he would just flip the play and go at my side I was outnumbered on every time.

I would do the quick adjust and blitz the corner and user the safety. That way the opponent doesn't 'see' you clicking and making adjustments.

MUT brings out the finest cheese in everyone.

Hey all, I used to be pretty good at Madden, now I just seem to stink all around. Just played against the CPU and Carson Palmer went 12/12 2TD's on me. I can't seem to stop the RUN or the PASS now. Is there anything you all can suggest to help me out. Skills Trainer and what you guys are doing to stop CPU and Human offense. Thanks in advance.

Base defenses don't work against the CPU all game anymore. You have to start run blitzing on running downs, and mixing blitzes with coverages or even all out blitzing on passing downs to force the CPU to throw quicker than they want to.

Another stupid question...

How to do a QB Slide? Doesn't list it in the controller menu.

For the skinny RB move, it's R1 on PS4, which sucks because Sprint is R2 and it seems this year getting a burst of speed out of the backfield is important. More practice I suppose.


I had thought about doing Random Plays on both sides for Practice mode, but still thinking I would want more game like situations... Perhaps I'll keep digging at the skills trainer!

QB slide is simply tapping the dive button. Which is square on PS4. If you tap it the QB should slide feet 1st, if you hold it down (or don't tap fast enough) the QB will dive head 1st forward like a runner would.

I was pretty bad at it myself when I first started. Primarily because O was on all-madden with the hit seeker assist lol.

After doing the skills trainer (for MUT packs) I've gotten better. Here's how:

1) Use the LT (on xbox) to strafe while in open field. This squares you up to the runner for a sure tackle. This also brings up a tackling cone if you play with assist.

2) Know when to use X (on xbox) vs A. X is similar to the hit stick this year. They call it an aggressive tackle I believe. A is for conservative tackles.
Use Aggressive/dive tackle in the box or to jar the ball out after a WR catches a slant . Use conservative in the open field, to ensure the tackle.

3) Here's a more technical tip that while come with time. Pursuit angles. Like real life, you want to attack the ball carriers inside shoulder to prevent getting juked. When you are beat and trying to prevent a touch down run on the sideline, take a angle to cut the runner off. Don't chase him from behind. Again attack the inside shoulder to prevent getting juked. Long TD runs can be stopped by a good pursuit angle.

Any tips on scouting / drafting ? I feel like I wasted all these points on guys who go in the 1st and 2nd round that I'm left randomly picking guys after that with no knowledge .

Is there a reason I can't upgrade my stadium? Playing as the Jaguars. Most stadium ratings are pretty low, and adviser says to upgrade if I can afford to, but it's not showing me any option to actually upgrade... PM me if you have an answer please!

Prioritize. Decide on what your biggest needs are, then look at the players available at each position. So for example: if your needs are LT, MLB, DT, HB in that order then you want to look for LTs and MLBs that can go in the first/second round. Then DTs/HBs in the third/fourth. But sometimes you may be better off taking the best available played. It's just a matter of deciding what round you're best off drafting a certain position.

Funny you mention that. In my Chargers CFM I chose to renovate the stadium and it said it will start next preseason.

Next preseason comes and kind of forgot about it first week because I did not get a notificaiton. Then I go into the stadium menu and it gives me the options again. Again I chose to renovate and I get the 'next preseason'. Well see what happens next preseason.

Know what you need to draft and stick to those positions, I usually pick 3 offense and 3 defense. I personally look for players with atleast b- in their 3 attributes. So as soon i see a c+ or lower I'll no longer scout that player. Know what you want in certain positions. If you want you corner to be a man coverage guy and his first attribute is b- zone coveage he's most likely not the guy you're looking for

Hey all! I'm really having problems on d. I use the Lions. What would be a good basic play to

1. Focus on the run and force the CPU to pass?
2. Shut down a particular receiver without leaving someone completely wide open?
3. Focus on the pass and force the CPU to run?

On ps4 how do I show blitz on D? I seem to change camera angle when I press the buttons I used to press.
