Re: FIX: Setting Up A 32 Team OFFLINE CFM Instructions
I started a offline cfm after I went through and selected all 32 teams I made roster adjustments etc from there I saved it then I tried to play a preseason game using the chiefs vs the cardinals. Once I selected to play the game it just froze on the spinning football loading. It has happened several times now. So I started a new cfm with only a few teams and it plays but still worried what's going to happen when there's a game that I control both teamsComment

Re: FIX: Setting Up A 32 Team OFFLINE CFM Instructions
So now that I'm seeing that Owner mode is working better, I'm thinking about switching over from Coach mode. A few questions:
1) What do I lose by going to Owner vs. Coach?
2) If I just retire the existing coaches (all real except my own), they'll stay with the team still, right?
3) There is no "easy button" way to do this, is there? I think I'll have to just retire/rejoin all 32 teams but would love to not do that...
Thanks for any answers.
As 32-coaches, you can set both the scheme and individual player type settings to maximize their OVR and all your settings will stick,
As an owner, you can change your coach's base O and D types, but you can't set the individual player types to maximize their OVR and have those settings stick. They revert to whatever the default position preference for your coach is according to the game programming.
So to me, you lose the ability to customize schemes and that's been proven to have a direct impact on ratings and game play.
Consequently, the gains of owner mode are not enough to outweigh the loss of customizability w/r/t schemes and player types.
There's no good reason this should be so; it seems to be a case of simple neglect or sloppy work setting up the Owner/Coach relationship in CFM.Comment

There is something you lose as being an owner, I found out.

Re: FIX: Setting Up A 32 Team OFFLINE CFM Instructions
I went in to SEA as Paul Allen, for example, and was able to edit Pete Carroll's base D scheme from Attacking 43 to Base 43.
I then went in to change the QB type from Mobile to Balanced and when I exited the coach scheme screen, I noticed that the QB scheme had reverted to Mobile.
I tried to optimize each position according to my chart for that team, and every time I exited the coach scheme screen, it reverted to a default setting.
I tried with multiple teams as owners, going into the coach scheme section, optimizing, and exiting. Each time I got a reversion.
I'm not sure why that would be, but that's what happened to me.Comment

I just tried to set up a new 32-team Owner CFM, offline, and I went in to start customizing the player types per the schemes revelation info.

Re: FIX: Setting Up A 32 Team OFFLINE CFM Instructions
Now here's a nutso thing.
I did several different kinds of tests.
I created new CFMs as an owner. I created new CFMs as a coach, then retired and entered as an owner. I went into my existing coach CFMs and retired certain coaches and replaced them with owners.
In each case, any changes made from within an owner mode to a coach player scheme did not save, but rather reverted to the pre-programmed default preferences for that coach.
Then I got an idea. I fired my coach, hired a new one, fired the new one, and re-hired the original coach.
After doing that, I was able to manipulate player scheme types and have the changes stick. Odd, right.
Even stranger was the fact that when I loaded my newly re-hired original coach, the player scheme types that I had tried to edit were "remembered" and correctly installed.
The example I'll use is the Bears.
I went in as the owner and changed Fox's QB, HB, and FB to Balanced. I exited and re-entered, and the preferences reverted to Strong Arm, One Cut (I think), and Blocking, or whatever his pre-sets are.
After seeing that my changes were reverting to the game's pre-sets, I fired Fox, hired a fake guy, fired him, and re-hired Fox.
Then when I went into this coaching preferences to edit to my optimization chart, I see "Balanced," "Balanced," and "Balanced" for QB, HB, and FB.
So somehow through the firing and re-hiring, the game remembered whatever changes I was making that weren't sticking visually and had now decided to represent them visually in the coaching schemes section.
So it's like the changes stuck under the hood but did not show the first time I did the edits. The problem is that I was also not seeing the changes in OVR when I was getting the reversions to pre-set player scheme types.
So it appears there's a workaround, but the workaround is that you have to fire and re-hire every coach to get a fully manipulatable set of player scheme types.
There's no way I could make this stuff up. I'm glad not everyone is having this problem, but I think it's odd.Comment

Re: FIX: Setting Up A 32 Team OFFLINE CFM Instructions
Hey armor and sword maybe you can help. I used your slider sets and they're awesome. My problem is I tried to control all 32 teams but if I try to play a game with 2 teams I control the game won't load. It will just stay on the loading screen with the spinning football. I love offline cfm but I can't use every team. Do I need to put the opposite team on auto pilot? If you can help pleaseComment

That was a bug from M15 but I have not had that issue at all with M16
You can't have 2 controllers active so make sure only one controller is active when you play 32 team CFM!

1. Saved the gam
2. Exited franchise.
3. Reloaded franchise
4. Now my changes stick.
For some reason the before you save/exit the franchise after creating it, you'll have to revert issue. Hope that helps.*AKA NFC3PO on the Madden Modding Discord*Comment

Re: FIX: Setting Up A 32 Team OFFLINE CFM Instructions
I have updated my slider thread with my 32 team control methodology to address coach firings etc for those that have been following that thread.
So here is my process if coaches are fired.
1) Retire the coach (for example Rex Ryan get's fired from Buffalo)
2) Create a new owner character and use the real life owner of the bills
3) Set that team to Auto Pilot and add 20MM in new funds if they start with 10MM and add 30MM if they start with 0 otherwise they will have only 10MM or 0 in funds and cannot resign and go after free agents in the off season.
When you do this Rex Ryan will again be available to hire in the coaching pool and when you set a team up with owner mode and auto pilot they will hire a new staff automatically.
Right now in year three 65% of my league is owners and the other 35% are coaches who still have their original out of the box job. I actually find 32 team owner mode to be much more user friendly. And here is why.
1) You get full control over any team. And can relocate teams and create even deeper story-lines if like me you go at least 5-6 years deep in your CFM.
2) You can do everything a coach can plus set prices, upgrade or build a new stadium etc.
3) You will get a real coaching carousel and see how things shake out by letting the CPU for the other 31 teams do their thing.
4) You can still step in and set depth charts, cut players, resign, etc etc for any or all teams.
You basically have total control and get the entire Madden 16 CFM experience with the ability to change whatever you want or do nothing at all.Now Playing on PS5:
