    Re: Madden 16 CFM Draft: Biggest Freaks/Studs/Gems in

    I don't have exact attributes on me, but in my 49ers rebuild I actually noticed a TE in the draft due to the draft stories. It said something about him outplaying/outcatching the top TE prospect in the Senior Bowl (or whatever the game calls it). I always go look at these draft story players just to see what they're projected at and everything. I look and he's projected for a late 4th rounder so I start scouting and he has some pretty solid stats (B+ in catching, etc.), so I decide he is likely my 4th round target. If he's a bust McDonald will still be serviceable enough. I actually even revoked my offer to Dwayne Allen in FA due to me unearthing this guy.

    I draft him in the 4th. Measurables are something like 6'3 240s. He comes out as a 74 ovr (with scheme set to balanced), but superstar dev and he's a pretty solid receiver (84 speed and mid 80s hands). Been starting him since day 1 and he's currently leading the team in receptions 11 games in. Even though he has some crappy traits (drop open pass - yes. feet in bounds - no) I haven't noticed him really drop any passes he should have caught and last game he even had a crucial 3rd down catch leaping near the sideline and touching both feet in bounds before falling out of bounds.

    He has definitely played above his ratings and I plan on him being a staple of my offense for years to come. Thinking about switching the scheme to receiving TE to see what his ovr looks like. I'm also thinking that his ovr may be affected by a pretty low awr. Can't recall what it is but I'm pretty sure it's fairly low.

    So far I haven't been able to find much luck 5th round and later. Pretty sure I usually end up dropping the guys I draft there. But the last draft class in the first 4 rounds I found 4 starters (admittedly on a bad team)

    1st round (like 9th pick): WR Gilbert Scott 6'2 (80 ovr: 93 speed. QUICK Dev)
    2nd round: CB Marvin Bryan 5'11? (78 ovr: high man and press. QUICK Dev)
    3rd round: RG ???? ???? ???? (76 ovr: QUICK Dev)
    4th round: TE I mentioned Keylo Miles SUPERSTAR Dev

    Made Scott the #2 WR in front of Torrey Smith (signed Marvin Jones in the offseason who is currently at #1)

    The CB was good enough to come is as the #1 CB because the 9ers CBs are terribad.

    RG I am starting over 80 ovr Nicks who I signed in the offseason. Figured it's better to let the quick development G develop on a rebuilding team than starting the old vet that is a 2 year rental

    And as I already said, TE is starting. So far 11 games into the season the ovr have jumped from

    WR: 80 -> 82
    CB: 78 -> 81
    RG: 76 -> 79
    TE: 74 -> 78

    In this next draft class there are like 6 QBs that are projected in the 1st/early 2nd and all grade out in that area. The rest grade out terribly after scouting, so I am hoping to nab the best one I can get to get my franchise QB (I traded for EJ Manuel since Bills have Tyrod, started season with Kaep and was 1-4. EJ is like 4-2, but I am definitely not going to stick with him long term)

    EDIT: didn't mean for this to turn into my life story, but oh well lol

        I am horrible with getting quick/star guys. Below is my first draft in my offline Chargers CFM:

        Round 7, Pick 11: P Kolton Crosby, Texas Tech
        Key atts: 91 KPW - 87 KAC
        Elmore was quick and I think everyone else is normal. In my online CFM with the Titans I had a slow HB and everybody else was normal I think. I've yet to get any superstar dev players. *Only 2 drafts though...

        Atkins is the freak/gem for me. I'm going to focus on getting his AWR up as much as possible (~70+) and he'll probably be 80 OVR.

          I haven't exactly come across any real freaks. It's seems most of the craziest specs I've seen on players have been at the QB position. Guys with 90's speed and 90's THP. There was that one WR posted earlier in this thread, high 90's everything it seemed. He might be the best WR I've seen and it wasn't even my franchise. I have been able to find guys with good OVR but most have been normal development. I did manage to land the top 3 in terms of talent in one particular draft but they were are normal trait.

            I don't understand how everyone thinks RB speed is broken? Look at the base ratings for RBs in the roster. There are like 4 guys faster than 91, and almost all of them are terrible players.

            Clearly RBs speed was lowered, both in the base roster and in drafts, because in real life RBs aren't as fast as WRs. It's that simple.

              It was an intentional design but the argument against is that here should be a guy here and there that be super fast. I can get with that mentality. I wouldn't mind a freak HB who is 6-0 230 and like 96 speed and runs people over.

                The new development in my league is everyone spams the toss and ends up with 3k XP per game so now, it doesnt matter what speed you draft a guy at you can spend points on it now

                  32 teams wouldn't mind that guy either. Problem is he doesn't exist.

                    Really? I'm just giving an example and you have to take it literal? Okay

                    There are generational players that do come around who bring extraordinary talents.

                      Yes there are generational talents. They aren't high 90s speed players though. If they were they'd be wide receivers.

                        Drafted this stud in the second round. I let Alfred Morris walk after not agreeing to terms on a contract. Passed on FA's. I feel like a money GM.

                          I totally forgot to check my players' traits after drafting them but I ended up with 2 guys with Superstar development! What are these draft stories you guys are talking about? I think I just totally missed them. One of the guys didn't participate in the combine but was a speed rusher DT which I needed, and he ended up being my 3rd round pick. He's a 77 overall and one of those superstar development guys I was talking about. I'm guessing he had one of those draft stories?

                            If you go to news every week and sort by draft stories they highlight players with background information. Like a qb might be the son of a legendary coach

                              Out of all of the drafts I've had, I've only drafted two players who've missed the combine and they both were Superstar development.

                                Ahh I didn't know that. Thank you. Honestly outside of my team I haven't been very invested in the rest of the league. One of the reasons I'm considering re-starting my CFM.
