not sure if you can answer this but in hindsight it sounds like we actually have to try and sign good kickers as opposed to the past where we just didnt care if they had bad accuracy but good power. i like the sound of that.

Re: I've played ~40 hours of Madden 17: AMAlmost Anything
In previous Maddens there was a "Cover 2 Buc" play call. In the current game all MLBs play the cover 2 as if they are in a Tampa 2 scheme.
Did they bring back a Tampa 2 play and adjust the normal cover 2 to actually play like cover 2?
As I typed this I started doubting you can answer at this time, if not ill hit you up after the blogs are released.
This is something I'll have to check on when I get the retail build. I really have no idea.
What I'll do when I get retail is open a new thread and collect questions, then I'll answer them when EA access drops.Comment

The new zones will certainly take some adjusting to for players.Comment

Re: I've played ~40 hours of Madden 17: AMAlmost Anything
This is more my thing: I don't like the concept of pressing certain buttons for RAC/spec catch and possession. I want the WR, depending on AWR/attributes to instinctively know what to do. If I hit Y with Megatron in a situation where there should be a possession catch then he should do it; regardless. Because its Megatron. Same as if I press Y in double coverage with Travis Benjamin; he shouldn't even attempt a spectacular catch. Just stick a hand out or just let it sail by. I want the players to govern these things, not us.
Yeah, but technically this already exists - don't press ANY button and your WR will do what he's supposed to do. I love the new button additions because I want to control this. It's an interesting fine line, I suppose any sports game has to figure out - how much/when do we give control to player to control outcome vs when/how do we let ratings dictate outcome. For me, I certainly want ratings to dictate whether or not my WR makes a catch or not, but for me, I want to be the decision maker. I simply canNOT stand it when a WR doesn't have the presence of mind to get their feet in bounds in previous maddens. When, I clearly realize an opportunity for getting 2 feet in bounds, but the CPU AI does not. I WANT to control this. I MUST be allowed to control this. Lol. But, again, really, their implementation allows for both our preferences. I can choose the catch I want the WR to attempt, and the ratings will dictate success/failure. But, if u simply want ratings to dictate CHOICE by the WR, simply don't press any button, and it should play out that way.Comment

Have there been any changes with the depth charts? Maybe bringing back formation specific subs?
Also as far as gap control goes, have they implemented the differences in style of a 1 gap play or a 2 gap?Last edited by catcher_0_3; 05-16-2016, 09:23 AM.Comment

Re: I've played ~40 hours of Madden 17: AMAlmost Anything
formation subs is my question however on Special teams. in m16 and prior, i manually update fb#1 to be my fastest te/hb who isnt a starter and can tackle and has some toughness, te#2 is a fast mlb, lolb#2 is a fast lber, mlb#2 is not my mlber#2 but a fast lber, rolb#2 same as lolb#2, cb#3/4/fs#2/ss#2 are fast
you are likely to not be able to answer a formation subs, but it is linked to STs
ps i liked madden 08 on PC, then again i use coach mode
pps given runners are being prompted (to read between the lines) is there a similar mechanic for those of us that like being a defender rather than those on offenceComment

Re: I've played ~40 hours of Madden 17: AMAlmost Anything
Ok so with this "tier" system and since its rating & animation based I would assume a 80-89 rating is a different "tier" from a 90-99 rating And I'm also assuming there's 3 tiers
0-79 ok jukes animations
80-89 good jukes animation
90-99 great jukes animations
So only these "tier" animations will play out with the certain ratings
With this said there really woundnt be a separation from 80 to a 89 or 90 to a 99 when there should be,
This is just speculation and this might be answered when the gameplay blogs come outComment

I don't have big hopes for the tier system this year but I think in the next 2 years they will make it so you really feel the difference between playersComment

Good point. Would be annoying to see my 25 juke guard pick up a fumble and be able to make the same moves as my 79 juke HB.

This is something I hope they do end up applying to pass rush down the line where you have all these different animations for each move that creates a different amount of push or leverage gained and based on how good your rusher is versus the OL's ratings deteremines how things play out.Comment

Will pass rushers attempt to strip the ball from Qb's? Are bobbled catches in?Comment
