Re: Madden NFL 17 Impressions
Fixing the entire interaction dynamic as a whole....you're probably right.
Fixing a player standing in place, chopping his feet and not reacting to what's going on around him? I should think that's well within the realm of a timely patch.Comment

Anybody feel like Offense is overpowered? Every game is like outdoor Arena Football. Scores are 50's-40s.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Impressions
I really, really hope that a complete offensive line (specifically pass blocking) overhaul is in store for M18 because I can't describe how atrocious it is in M17. It's far away the most glaring issue and biggest thing holding the game back at this point IMO and leads to by far the most WTF! moments. I mentioned it being a concern in one of my earlier impressions and I don't know if I just didn't pay as much attention to it then but it's becoming an every game thing for me now. Watching 300+ pound lineman just get thrown around like children or belly flop to the ground letting DL come in completely unabated is just ridiculous.

Makes me wonder what happened to the "reworked" pass blocking Clint talked about in 2013.

I doubt if it's as simple as 1, 2, 3, though. You straighten out one issue, others pop up?Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Impressions
Send these to Clint Oldenburg and Rex Dixon on twitter I'm sure they already know but this mess has got to be called out and fixed next year and not a day later. This pass blocking/rushing is horrific been like this since Madden 2001, it's time for a major change.Xbox Series X: KILLMUNGERComment

And I thought player sense 2.0 was supposed to eliminate unaware players, but sadly this isn't new to anyone that has played madden games throughout the years.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Impressions
Jet Sweeps and WR reverses actually can work this year. I hadn't tried any, because I just assumed they were an automatic loss like forever, but I finally said, "whatever", and tried them and there are good gains to be had.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Impressions
Duece, is this on default AP out of the box?
I'm not saying it doesn't need fixing because of the video evidence, but I'm just saying sliders do alleviate some of this stuff.Last edited by roadman; 09-16-2016, 08:03 AM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Impressions
So, I just finished my first full season of a Bengals CFM. While there are plenty of gameplay things I can comment on(some of which I like, and many which I don't like), I just want to make a few points about the commentary: It's time for me to turn it off. For all the hype about it, every single game had the exact same commentary as every other game, just in a different order. Sometimes stories were repeated multiple times in the same game. The stories also run on way too long without getting cutoff, and then it results in big plays without excitement from the play-by-play. It's just bad, or at least the color commentary aspect of it is very bad. And, in week 17, I had a perfect chance for them to show off some real CFM-specific commentary as my Bengals were tied with the Ravens at 9-6 and playing for the divisional title. Not one single mention of that. But, luckily I did get to hear about how Charles Davis hated playing against experienced quarterbacks a couple times, like I heard from weeks 1-16. I ended losing the game, but making it as a wild card team. The playoffs were more of the same, with no real playoff-specific commentary. (Also more of the same, was that the Bengals(me) got bounced in the first round, haha) Hopefully they can improve upon it with the updates, but the only positive thing I have to say on the commentary right now is that I'm glad I don't have to listen to Phil Simms anymore.
I'm going to sum-up my gameplay impressions pretty quickly: It's good enough for me to keep playing for a little bit. There are a lot of problems, but it's keeping me going for now.Comment
