We aren't owed anything besides the game we paid for.

I do agree. However I do have one question. And this is just my ignorance, but I know that EA had a website last year for online CFM. Is that not an advertised feature?

Technically they never said it was going to be available during launch for Madden 17. So it wouldn't be an advertised feature. It was just something we associated with a cloud franchise for 2 or 3 maddens. Actually Even last year it wasn't fully functional Day 1.

The gripe I (and I think others had) is that, like other fan favorite features in Madden's past it just disappears. With no rhyme or reason, unless the community hounds devs for a reason, such as knowing why defensive assignments was not implemented this year.

I hope we get an app or something soon; I know I can do all sorts of things in Battlefield 4, right from my computer, through an app..and it makes changes and such for my xbone.

Should be ale to have an app where we can download a roster file, make mass edits, and upload it back into the app which would then be applied to our actual in game rosters...This could include playbooks too.

I never played CF in a online league. is it simliar to what 2k5 did? We had message boards, polls etc. I think NCAA did this also.

Oh i know man, and your right, all online leagues are feeling this same thing.And for the very reason you mentioned.Ill just be honest, i can sort thru alot more stats, 5 times faster on DL than i can even on console ( even not counting the load up time). Its just down right unreal how cumbersome it can be and guys in online leagues have lives outside of madden, that really makes not being able to check up on things, do things online during downtime away from home, really is annoying and makes online cfm much less enjoyable.

Stats and roster management/team building are what a lot of people enjoy most about online cfm and DL is a big part of that. Really hope we get a website/app soon

Presumably because development of the app is not yet completed. A software developer isn't going to release a product that isn't finished.

Are you really that intimidated by Daddyleagues, the MUT sites, etc that you flat out pulled access to something, disguised as a "work in progress"?

It was never a matter of "intimidation". DaddyLeagues operated in a legal grey area and its existence in its then-current form was never going to be allowed to continue. That it lasted as long as it did was a surprise.

Notably on the security front, DaddyLeagues required an EA account to use (as to pull the online franchise data from EA's servers). Once provided, the credentials for those accounts were stored on DaddyLeagues servers which were not controlled by EA. If DaddyLeagues ever suffered a security breach, there would be repercussions for EA, and it was completely outside of EA's control to ensure such a breach didn't happen (since DaddyLeagues obviously controlled its own servers, manages its own security, etc. etc.).

Does this situation suck for people who used DaddyLeagues a lot? Yes. Do I want a franchise app yesterday? Yes, and I further want a franchise API so I can build my own third-party franchise app. Can the absence of any companion tool be worked around in the meantime? Absolutely, my league is making heavy use of Discord to get around this inconvenience. Beyond that, the best thing we all can do is have patience. They've told us an app is coming.

Exactly this. It takes a TON of the flavor out of full 32 user leagues.

Those of us that do these full user leagues every year came to rely on it to make our leagues run smoothly.

Now.... need to analyze a trade? Someone has to fire up the PS4, get on then manually post relevant info, ratings, contracts, etc for people to talk about it.

No online advancing.

Harder to make trades because you need to go into the game to look at players ratings when deciding if you want them or not.

Everything is just slower, less efficient, and a giant step backwards.

"Its coming" "NDA" etc... all thats great. It is almost October, what is the big surprise they had that the needed to pull this feature so late before launch, so that its taken this long into the cycle (so far even) to get it done?

Why do I have the feeling EA will indeed come out with online access. But we will have to pay extra for it...

No insider info, just a gut feeling. They make so much $$$ off of MUT, I bet they feel the need to drain CFM user pockets too...

As bad as it does suck right now, and is taking our online cfms backwards, i will be glad once the app is out , so DL can be working again.The guy who runs it has been putting in the work for the CFM community since madden 13, while no one else would. DL has Single handedly been carrying thousands of leagues since madden 13.I didnt see anyone else doing work for the CFM online leagues for the past 4 years.To me ,DL has earned alot of respect from the CFMMovement and online leagues for Madden and MLB for that matter, as this and many other posts not only here but other places has shown.

To me , that hard work, deserves credit and has earned my loyalty.Good thing DL has been around since madden 13 for so many leagues.We live our lives on the go, and most of us in online leagues , dont have time after working all day, spending time with our kids and wife, play an hour long game( on average) in cfm, to then try to drudge thru all the stats, player attributes, spending xp, and etc on console afterwards.But most of us could find time , on lunch breaks or regular breaks at work to check on things, much faster on DL , than we could on the console itself.Not sure how that EA didnt seem to get that memo until later in the cycle it seems, by the fact this app wasnt ready before launch.Im thankful DL has been around and look forward to our league members being able to use it again for madden 17 and beyond.

I haven't read any posts in this thread. I work for a software company and LAUGH when people use the word "unacceptable" when demanding expectations. Do you know how hard it is to code things? This is still just a video game, right? I mean, your life does not depend on these features/changes..?

This isn't a matter of them not realizing the game was coming out or whatever. It's being worked on and is a large undertaking. They know we want it. We've said we wanted it, and it's coming.

Speaking of context, while we are at it, you realize this is Electronic freaking Arts, right? Not some backwoods dev making a companion app for a C title. Its one of the biggest annual games, and yes I can say "unacceptable" when it relates to ripping out a core feature (for me) that's been there for years, that I expected to be there when I paid for it.

All the big franchises, including others in EA, have had companion apps and website data scraping for years. There is no discernable reason for ripping it out just before launch without a backup plan in place. Again, its EA... Resource perspective.
