Re: Only 2 1/2 Weeks to EA Access and No Gameplay... Concerned?

I guess my biggest concern is you add a feature like Longshot when other features still need work or the memory that has been dispersed for that feature is not available for things like CFM, Individual helmets in the pro bowl and face scanning for create a player. Now I know this comes down from above as how to market the game better, but for integrity purposes EA should fix or enhance what they have instead of adding more features that will probably require updating of their own going forward .

On another note , Gamechangers and other individuals were invited to an EA event yesterday. We have not heard a peep from those people. I know there are guidelines and restrictions to what can be released or said, but c'mon , they could have said something like " the game looks and plays so much better than EA play and E3." Or " we have footage that is going to put all the negativity and doubters to rest". For guys that hype up their You- Tube channels, it's sure been quiet.

The more I think about this stuff the madder I get.

LOOK, This years pass blocking has been some of the WORSE I have EVER seen in the HISTORY of the game. You KNOW its bad when they HAD TO DEVELOP a "NANO" detection system to HELP the Offensive line block.

You don't even need to create a nano blitz. Half the time the offensive linemen are gonna just let the defensive linemen run right past them and the HB/FB sure in the heck aint gonna help pick up any free rushers.

ALL these EA selected youtubers who got the game early and played it HAD TO SEE THIS and SAID NOTHING. Game reviewers HAD to see this and yet the game still gets praise and high scores and more excuses made for it than a crook going to jail.

There was suppose to be no more balls going through defenders hands...WRONG.

I see more warping in one game of Madden than I see in a whole season of Star Trek. I learned how to electric slide looking at replays of player movement.

Weight and momentum mean nothing. You are at the mercy of whatever animation the game engine decides will play out.

      Im done...

Even if they did say that, so what? Who's gonna believe them anyway, the footage is gonna speak for itself, good or bad.....

I came across this the other day from Madden 25...

If my player has a 90-plus rating in that specific move category, then you’re able to pull off that highest-level move. For example: Marshawn Lynch can do the 90-plus stiff arm, but any back who isn’t rated as high, can’t do those same moves. We’re creating separation between the best runners and everybody else. Doug Martin is more of a precision runner, so he’ll have top-level precision spin and precision juke. LeGarrette Blount will have the highest level hurdle, truck, and stiff-arm ratings. We’re starting to develop the personalities of these players within our system.
It's basically the exact same thing as they implemented last year. Last year's had new animations and they're already being tweaked again this year. Stuff like this is what holds them back greatly.

              Good ol Tombsong lol.

The thing is, I think this Madden dev team HAS added alot of under the hood things to make the game more realistic. The DB/WR interaction addition was one of the biggest, most impactful gameplay mechanic added in the PS/XBOX era once the cheese was toned down.

The animations we've seen from Madden 18 have been much improved. The legacy issues and physics being worked brings joy to my heart. I don't think we'll ever see a realistic pocket in Madden but it seems like they're trying to find a happy medium.

But for some reason, they won't cultivate that goodwill by releasing footage of the game and giving it to the youtubaz and twittaraz.

I get the logic. I really do. The youtubers care if exploits have been fixed. They like to play "Madden" and they are the breadwinners so you have to make sure the game is presentable to them. For the simheads, to which a simple 5 minute gameplay clip would suffice, we just gotta wait in line.

This dev team has certainly improved madden. However, the problem by no fault of their own, is they are building on a broken foundation.

Like someone put in red most of those components have disappeared. I'm just tired of the here this year and gone in two years, some don't make that.

What's more troubling are those that, that get defensive when we try to offer suggestions or criticize the lack of innovation in Madden.
                  As far as CCM/CFM/Franchise goes
If they would emulate how the NFL works instead of adding these arcade "funability" features, they could continually build off of what they have instead of this continually add, remove, replace. A group of us have been saying this for many years. That's what's so frustrating.

But I think my comment is a bit off topic. Apologies for that.

To me this just seems like the tipping point for a lot of people.

Everyone here regardless of your current walk of like, can relate to just having a bad day when something super minor comes along and causes your blood to boil when it normally wouldn't.

We've all read the same info about the game. Some are pleased, some are anxiously cautious, and some are pissed. Regardless of that, I think the lack of video is just the thing that is putting some people on an understandable edge.

                    It's concerning for sure.

Aside from a few posts here and there, this thread has been great. We just have to remember to keep the discussion about the game and not the poster.

I really appreciate the very obvious attempt by everyone to come together to talk about the game rather than an idea.

We all want the same thing.

Videos ASAP would be much appreciate and as has been previously said, I do believe we will see it sooner rather than later but I personally don't have any issue with anyone expressing concerns about not seeing anything yet.

They would be wise to let the youtubers post Monday or Tuesday. If anything, just to earn the slightest bit of trust back. This dev cycle has alienated a lot of the core fanbase. Just hope we don't lose Rex or Clint in the process. It's not there yet, but the game is miles ahead of what it was a few short years ago.

I think the biggest reason for the content we see from time to time is the fact that we've all seen the potential and what could have been.

It's easy to get more and more frustrated every year when we just say if they would just do this, this, and this the game would be solid but because we all want different things, that's not possible for 100% of the audience.

I think if people lost all hope, they wouldn't be here posting about the game which is why I keep trying to encourage us all talking through these things.

I truly believe everyone that is still posting in this subforum has seen something at one point that still has them believing this can be the game they want.

It's easy to get frustrated when you see promise that doesn't quite meet it's potential.

That's because 2K is prouder and more confident about their game

Or it could be that Madden doesn't have as much to advertise this year other than Long Shot? Rex pretty much admitted that most of their development time & resources this year went into Long Shot. If you read between the lines, he doesn't seemed to pleased about it. I highly doubt the devs agree with how Madden is being marketed this year. Some things are beyond their control. I just hope we get a clean playing polished game at the end of the day. If the game comes out & still has a lot of the same issues as last year (Player Physics I'm looking at you) then that will make a lot of gamers like myself lose trust in the process.

THIS!!! They can talk about new marketing strategies all they want, they've lost my trust, and I'm not buying that angle.

I'm in the camp that says they know the game has nothing appealing to offer beyond their little interactive movie, and therefore they're keeping a lid on it.

It's beyond maddening (see what I did there), beyond annoying....for me, it's sad. I have been a Madden player for more than 20 years now, and this is definitely the least excited I have ever been for the latest edition.

I said 13 years ago that getting the exclusive NFL license was great for EA, but terrible for gamers.

And fast forward to now. Let's be really honest here. There is ZERO reason or incentive for them to put time, effort, and resources in the game as it's the only game in town. And to me, telling us resources were pulled from Madden to be put on NBA love just confirms that thought.

It's sad to me. And anyone who says " I couldn't care less about it!" Well, good for you. But that makes me wonder why you're even here to begin with, if you don't care? Just my thoughts.

Someone saying they don't care about a lack of video's doesn't mean they don't care about the game and they have just as much a right to voice their opinion as you do.

These are the kind of thoughts that divide this community rather than bringing it together.

Rest of your post was fine and thoughtful but why the need to take an unnecessary jab at those who aren't worried about not seeing footage yet?
