Man, it was NOT a good decision to let users put up the first videos. If they would have put their own videos out first they could have at least controlled the narrative a little better but this is very bad PR.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

Welcome to Madden 17.05
Where if it were lunch, you are getting the same soup and salad from yesterdays lunch, but today you get no meat. So eat what you see and what you don't see don't ask for.
I told yall you were gonna get a bunch of canned, pre-screened gameplay videos with the tubers talking over it and hyping it up to be fantastic despite nothing in the videos are showing you that....Just believe them. Best Madden Evah, BOOYEEE !
You didn't have to be a prophet to see this coming. Anyone that can't see the scam they pulled this cycle is only pulling the wool over their eyes. They hid the game from you. You now see why.
When you look at what 2K does with their basketball game each year and compare it to what Tiburon does, it should make anyone want to pick up a pitch fork and march on the NFL and tell them to end this deal. We should have SO MUCH MORE than what we have now for football games.
Well, the next part of this nightmare comes next. The demo release where most will realize, "Damn, this game ain't changed much." Then the no content madden reviews giving the game praise and high 8 low 9 scores. Best Madden Evah.Comment

Lol. I'll add to those reviews.
"Madden FINALLY put in a movie story mode. They've really hit full stride with Longshot. The cinematography is AMAZING. The gameplay, that's just like 17, but still, everybody should buy this game!! (Especially casuals!!)"

Re: Only 2 1/2 Weeks to EA Access and No Gameplay... Concerned?
I've just come to terms with the fact that I'm no longer the target demographic for Madden. I'm an offline gamer. Where's the money in offline gaming? People love MUT and I'm happy that they're recognized. I just can't do it this year which bums me out because I held off last year thinking the game would make significant strides, but alas.
They're capitalizing on a story mode that's proven to be popular in other sports titles, but these other games have a solid foundation to work on which makes Longshot just feel like a cashgrab to me. But hey, if online gamers are happy with how the game plays and Tiburon is focused primarily on that group of players, then I guess they've successfully made the product they wanted to.
I know that it's still early to really judge the game at its core, but I don't need a controller to see how the game looks. Gorgeous from a screengrab standpoint, but everything still seems awkward and disjointed in the same way it did years ago. The CPU QB still functions without a brain and the defense still seems off. Guess we just have to wait and see.Last edited by engrishbwudd; 08-09-2017, 08:07 PM.Comment

- Longshot is technically an offline mode so there has been some attention to offline play.
- CFM has received a number of significant improvements over the last few years. (Now I hated or dont care about most of them but some people liked the improvements)
- They've added sim mode which is a bone to the offline crew (even though it doesnt seem to work as well as they thought).Comment

I am too but I'm sure the Madden team would make the following points:
- Longshot is technically an offline mode so there has been some attention to offline play.
- CFM has received a number of significant improvements over the last few years. (Now I hated or dont care about most of them but some people liked the improvements)
- They've added sim mode which is a bone to the offline crew (even though it doesnt seem to work as well as they thought).
- you don't play any games in longshot
-CFM is way behind football games that are now 10+ years old. That's a fact. And light years away from current sports games
- the game should simulate the sport of football as much as possible out of the box. The kids and tournament guys will adapt.
Here's my logic behind that. Football is my my biggest passion in life. I love the fundamentals and X's and O's. I don't play madden. I get my fix from other football games that simulate the sport better.
I do however buy nba2k every year. I'm a very casual basketball fan. My favorite player is curry and the most in depth basketball strategy I know are pick n rolls. But I love NBA 2k. I'm sure I don't even know half the controls or moves. But I don't care. I have a great time playing it.
If madden went down that route people who didn't understand the rules or know all the moves would still find a way to have fun. Hell, madden isn't deep at all when it comes to moves you can make compared to nba2k.
I don't know why EA wants to simplify the game. Or appease the tourney guys. If the game is a true simulation you can still have a tournament. If the game is tournament you can't have a simulation.Comment

My counter points would be

-CFM is way behind football games that are now 10+ years old. That's a fact. And light years away from current sports games

I think part of the reason is because Football is your favorite sport. I'll give you another example: I got NHL 17 for free and really never played it until last week. Ive read posts on the forums and read how much most of the community hates the game. I'm also a very casual hockey game. So for some reason, I started playing the game last week and I loved it. I dont know half of the players or most of the moves but I've been having a ball playing it.
We are much harder on games of sports we love.
With that said, the mistake the Madden team is making is a lack of options. I dont give a **** if the Madden team makes the game for casual fans as long as they give me the tools to make the game as realistic as possible. Unlike NBA 2k, EA doesnt give me the tools so I'm forced to play a less than sim experience.Comment

My biggest thing is the game "looking" the part. I don't even care to get deep into the game because it just looks and feels awful in motion. I can't tweak or edit animations and movements, so for me they have to get this right. To this day they haven't and it doesn't seem like they care to......http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

I think we all enjoy sports games more when they are sports we aren't that crazy about in real life.
I love playing Fifa and no nothing about soccer. I've bought a few of the NBA2k games and don't follow the sport and much like you, enjoy them despite knowing half the controls.Comment

Re: Only 2 1/2 Weeks to EA Access and No Gameplay... Concerned?
Which will NEVER happen unfortunately. They can't put in the work to get a game really ready to be worked on earnestly before the exclusivity ends. And the NFL has no reason to end it if they're not going to get paid by anyone else for two or three years after it ends. It would take two or three years of work for 2k, or anyone for that matter, to come up with a GOOD game. Sadly, they can't even make a non licensed fully customizable game either, as that would cost them the chance at getting licensed down the line. They basically said as much the last time the contract was up.Comment
